Clownfish TV made another video on He-Man: Revelation, this one is pretty informational and interesting.
Very optimistic.

The adult He-man fans are the ones who put down multiple preorders for several hundred dollars worth of classics series He-man figures sight unseen. They did this every year for years. Even though they might only want a couple figures and would have to flip the rest on ebay.

They have proven they will eat any shit Mattel pushes out and clamor for more.

I miss when cartoons used to do a "don't be a fucking retard" moment at the end of each episode. He-Man did it, GI Joe did it... it was valuable and wholesome, and shows don't seem to do that anymore. This would explain why there is such a huge increase in retards these days.
End of episode PSAs for shows of today would end up being just as bad as the woke shows themselves.
Even the Captain Planet ones never got this in your face.

There was a point in time that this was the case. It stopped being so some time ago.

There reaches a flashpoint in these things where the franchise that is being exploited becomes too damaged to sustain merchandising. Star Wars. a vastly more powerful brand, started a steep decline in 2016 in this regard and is now an economic non-starter because of how the franchise was handled. Shelves and back areas full of unsold Star Wars Merch is now a widely documented occurence, and so much of it remained unsold for so long that they started destroying it to liquidate old stock.

Masters of the Universe had nowhere near this level of market penetration, and even a moderate fandom pull-out will effectively kill sales.

I think it’s somewhat different. Star Wars merch failed because nobody gave a fuck about the new characters; pretty sure the characters that everyone actually cared about still sold well enough.

He-man is probably more comparable to Transformers. It doesn’t matter if the new Netflix show is shit, people are still gonna buy updated Beast Wars figures because they’re updated Beast Wars figures. As long as the characters are still easily recognizable, the toy line might as well be completely separate from the show.

The reason why I care about the race swapping in this case is because it completely ruins the point of the character. Snake Eyes was meant to turn the concept of racism on its head. He was a white guy being trained as a ninja who wasn't accepted by his peers because he was white.
Couldn’t we have a compromise where Snake Eyes is blond and half-Japanese? Hāfu suffer racism too.

In fact, I was surprised the Renegades incarnation of the character wasn’t explicitly mixed race considering his new backstory. There’s not a lot of ways that a blond blue-eyed teen ends up a street urchin in a medieval Japanese village… in the 1990s?

Did kids ever watch Steven Universe? My nieces and nephews who are under 18 don't seem to know what the show is, the toy line did amazingly bad, and the only people who ever talk about it are weirdos in their 20s and 30s.
Even if kids did watch it, the way CN aired it definitely didn’t help matters.

Same in my family. All the young kids in my family only know Teen Titans Go, Looney Tunes, Fortnite, Minecraft and more video games... mostly video games. Never hear them actually talk about cartoons much as of late. All they care about is Minecraft, Fortnite and some open world mobile game.
