I think this is probably the least threatening version of Skeletor. Including the origional, the 90s, 2000's, and the movie. I'm not really mad at the show (I loved He Man growing up) I'm just disappointed.

Yeah, he just isn't threatening and in every flashback he just feels like a buffoon. I swear Smith just handed Hamill Joker lines and a big bag of cash.

Honestly I’d kill for someone to just give Oppenheimer a big bag of money and give him a few greentexts or copypastas. Skeletor reading the “Peculiar Buck” would be a dream come true.
 
Goddamned "Teen Titans Go!" had their "Him-Guy & Overlords of the Macrocosm" parody segments, and somehow that was closer to the classic He-Man source material than this actual MOTU™ sequel series.

That's how bad things really are.

I'd call it the Recycled Era. What's old is new again but THIS TIME:
Cruelty-Free (no jokes about minorities),
Glutten-Free (no effort in world-building),
Farm raised (run by suburbanite newcomers who keep putting round pegs in square holes and demanding cookies for trying)
And no animal testing (pre-screenings and second opinions to assure this crap will sell)!

All these Smith stories coming out of the woodwork are mirroring what happened with John K.

Especially since Smith has a long history of drug use.

Good, it's that same marketing campaign again where the studio/director/etc. picks a fight with the fanbase and then say "the Nazis are after your star war" when they dare to react. Apathy is the best weapon against these shifty motherfuckers. Not just ignoring their reboots of old properties they've hollowed out and have made a skinsuit out of, but watching, reading, supporting creators who are making the material you DO like, find something better. Finding material, including from independent creators, that you can recommend to other people does more than falling for "their" little marketing games.
