Eh, occasionally I go back to the unofficial comics from Grizz and Kyo-hei(杏丙).

Also we got a Helltaker fighting game over GTA6, unofficial, but still both funny and cool.

Being sick and snowed in, decided to re watch HH from the Pilot to the end of season 2 to really find what I like and hated. It's amazing how much has been eroded in the ten years from the very first short Angel Dust promo from the Pilot to now.

Whatever Viv was going for, not only did she not deliver but also seems hellbent on ruining any redeeming quality for her brand. Everything has been said ad nauseam atp here but the best example of it's decay is Charlie. Going from the Pilot where she has a better design, more personality and a little bit more of a spine to the 1 note " Rainbows and Puppies XD" and doing literally nothing for 2 whole seasons while side characters get more shit done or through arcs is just aggravating.

I legitimately wanted this show to do good. I wanted to see a little Demon Princess help redeem sinners and get their way into the pearly gates. The "heaven le bad" thing was a possibility but " She wouldn't write that in right off the bat" I thought, but no I guess not. I enjoyed HB season 1 but the fujoshi's hands couldn't behave themselves forever.

I'm hoping one day that the people behind the writing and story of Hazbin will grow the fuck up and make an actual serious storyline. I saw flashes of this maturity in both seasons, but the people behind the show seem content with "fuck fuck fuck, gay sex joke, credits". They need to cut way back on the comedy and have some actual tension and giving viewers a reason to truly care about the characters the same way viewers do in any other mature television show. I'm not saying it has to be as good as Breaking Bad or The Sopranos, but I just want some emotional WEIGHT.

I think that even straight up bad works can sometimes have bits that rise above their surrounding story, and really stick with you even if the rest of the work was either mediocre or bad.

An example was prompted by you mentioning Breaking Bad. There's a joke in the episode Granite State where Walt is on the lam and hiding out in a cabin, and the guy hiding Walt mentions he brought movies, before revealing that the two dvds are both copies of the film, "Mr. Magorium's Wonder Emporium", which aside from being a bizarre choice in general, from what I recall having seen it with my kid brother when it came out, and never again, wasn't a particularly great movie. Basically, the plot is the titular Mr. Magorium owns a magic toyshop, and he's also about to die, his employee is trying to convince him not to pass on (he's also explicitly over 200, so its ambiguous exactly how he's dying). Quite the movie to show to a man dying of cancer, but whatever.

However, when comforting one of his employees, Magorium gives a short speech that I think is just plain good, in a incredibly forgettable movie.

Just because it's ass at doing its job of telling a story, DOESN'T mean it cares little about it's story. I swear, ballsuckers of anything are already retarded enough, but ballsuckers of this show somehow manage to rival political ball suckers in the levels of being insufferable.

I think I finally got most of the timeline for the the production of this Hell show:

- A24 picked up Hazbin Hotel becaue of the parts of the story that are going to happen in season 3

- A24 though could only guarantee one season of the show

- Viv then basically wrote Hazbin Hotel to be essentially a complete story for season 1 so that if there weren't any future seasons, it would still have an ending for the viewer (though there were still a couple of cliffhangers in case they did get picked up for more seasons)

- Amazon picked up Hazbin Hotel to stream and greenlit 3 more seasons

- The things that originally got Hazbin Hotel picked up by A24 was supposed to happen in season 2, but Viv had other storylines (mostly of getting obsessed with the Vees during season 1 and wanting to make a spinoff off them) that she wanted to expand on before that

- Lilith's story gets pushed back to season 3

So yeah, I feel like this is more proof that Viv doesn't have a confirmed outline for how she wants the story to go, and instead has more of a bunch of ideas that she just wants to happen.
