It has become that time when Helluva Boss shits out some merch when the Holidays comes around. The only really interesting thing about it is that Sally Mae doesn't have her usual bulge. In fact, no male character in the line-up has one. Which you wouldn't be expecting for any merch line, but this is Helluva were talking about. They love sexualizing their characters in their merch; especially when Valentines come around.

I don't know if it's because Morgana left Spindlehorse (cause they were the one that was in charge of the merch) or if it's because the show is now partnered with Amazon, but something must have went down.

Also, we have Stolas and Blitzø, Moxxie and Millie, and Asmodeus and Fizzarolli in couple merch, but none of Bee and Vortex this year. I guess the fucking dead guy (Chaz), the fat bitch from one short (Emberlynn), and the background character (Wally) are more deserving of Valentines merch than a canonical couple. (Also, no Mayberry and Martha merch, which was a Morgana decision to make them a couple in the first place, kind of making my theory of Morgana not working for Spindlehorse anymore being the reason for my earlier theory.)

One thing that confuses me is why they're pushing Vassago of all characters so hard. I know he's supposed to have a bigger role in season 3, but dude rly only had 3 lines so far. The 'Friendship' line on his merch seems to deconfirm the "Long-lost relative of Stolas theory", but one question still remains: If he's such a fan of Stolas, then where was he all of Stolas' life? Or is he just a "Very good boy" who is meant to prove that it's "Not all Goetia guyz, rly!"?

At least Striker's still getting some good stuff. They did him so dirty, man. ;w;
 
I've always wondered how the dynamic between Alastor and Charlie could be improved - in the pilot we see that she's scared of him. This is despite the fact that he is merely a powerful Overlord and she's the daughter of Lucifer, basically the strongest guy in hell. Even though Lucifer can't harm sinners, she doesn't have this restriction. The Devil is often called the Prince of Lies, so why not have that factor into this dynamic?

It would be more interesting if Alastor was actually at a disadvantage when trying to manipulate Charlie - not only is she orders of magnitude more powerful, but now she can also tell with fairly high accuracy if someone has any hidden motives through their words, and can act accordingly. However, there may be subtle things that she, unfamiliar with human nature and interaction at times, can miss. For example, small expressions, body language, etc. Essentially Alastor would then have basically everything to gain from having the princess' ear, but if he fucks up a single time (and for Charlie here, once is enough), it's game over. But that would make her more than a braindead idiot and Viv doesn't have the talent to write a character like that.

It also needs an understanding of dialogue, character psychology, and body language. It’s both tricky to write and interesting so not allow.

Even in the rare instance sharkrobot runs out of merch these days you can always bet some chinks in Hong Kong will have knock offs for sale on temu or aliexpress.


Or someone will have the design made on demand on their shady online shirt shop.

theres a million ways to slice these. i guess you get a sneak peak at what i go through before posting the final edit i approve for public consumption. I normally wouldnt post so many versions of the same thing but i feel like different people will like different versions of this. idk

Thanks, bestie! I just really liked the way her head moved in that shot. Velvette is my fav character mostly cuz her animation is so varied what with having a zillion costumes in season 2. Really makes you appreciate how each hairstyle and fit changes how she looks... I mean, duh... but you know what I mean.

Viv doesn't have the talent to write a character at all, just scenes. Her characters are simply modules to move a scene along, they exist to be inserted into a situation in order to drive humor and/or drama and are not people possessing a personality unto themselves.
