There's no thought or consistency to any of the development of characters or concepts in this episode, it's just a chaotic, clusterfuck of random shit that Vivienne Medrano thought would be cool, adds depth, or rounds out her characterization... or just because she thought it'd be funny. You leave her with her own devices, and she'll either write with one hand (while jerking off to her little whumps Blitzie and Stolas <3), with one eye on social media (because she needs to know if she's doing shit the right away according to her fans), or whatever her ADHD addled mind comes up with on the fly. And lord knows her ADHD mind is hyper fixated on that owl and imp.
There really is no consistency across the whole show, even going back to season 1. I got slightly MATI when Blitzo and Moxxie refused to kill the fag dad in the season 2 finale, despite them going through the exact same "happy innocent family" scenario in the first episode of season 1 and despite Moxxie having killed dozens of innocent people in the theater in the Cherubs episode without a second thought.

And just so you don't forget, Vivianne wants to have this cross over and interact with the main cast and plot of Hazbin.

A much simpler criticism of HB is that Vivienne took a concept which worked well as an episodic comedy sketch and tried to shoehorn it into a soap opera. Some shows just don't need substantial continuity between episodes. But, like seemingly anything tumblrettes touch, the show had to devolve into shipping that strangled the comedy under an avalanche of sexual frustration.
The most common conclusion that most people are in agreement with is that Viv got rid of the people that made the HH pilot and HB before season 2 good. Or at least better than what it has become. I know Brandon Rodgers is still there for Helluva Boss but he has written only one episode in season 2. Everything else was either Viv, Adam Neylan, or Viv and Adam.

Saw a couple pictures of Charlie as an exorcist that were pretty good. I know you guys like fan art.

This could have been done so much better, even if you're not a big fan of this uke/seme bullshit Vivz is into. Just have an A plot (the actual victim of the week) and a B plot (where you can put all your gay romance shit). Just by actually maintaining a focus on the actual premise of the show and then pursuing the B plot concurrently, you'd still have a functional show.

Instead it's full homo all the time for no really good reason. Literally everyone is >9000% gay. All the time.

Something I noticed unrelated to your post is the gripes about pointless obscenity. I am not exactly a prude, so obscenity doesn't offend me and I'm fine using it myself, but obscenity is not BY ITSELF funny.

And I think the funniest think in the whole first season was this bit in D.H.O.R.K.S. where Moxxie makes the douchiest coffee order of all time.

This is just perfect. No dick jokes. No obscenity. Just every barista's worst nightmare.

I know Helluva Boss wasn't initially a overly dramatized show, but, I don't know, it seems like the fans really liked the dramatization a lot, so, I don't know, I just thought I'd lean a bit heavily into that.

that "according to the fans" bit is the most important part. see here.

I will never find it not funny that we had two episodes in a row focusing on a literal side character (Fizz) before Millie got an episode for herself. And it was still mostly focused on a gay man (Blitzø).

Millie will never get justice.

A friend got me to sit down and watch it and I'm legitimately shocked it's only two seasons of HH, with the amount of pages and discussion about it I've seen online, I legitimately thought it would be 4 or 5.

Extremely gay S2 ending. I cannot believe the way everything gets solved (with a song and a power that I don't think I saw anyone use before that scene), I wasn't even going to post anything here but that final scene alone made me come here and ask "did that really just happen?".

It also feels a lot like X-Men. They just have powers and they fight but it also doesn't seem to matter unless angels are involved.

Great songs though, best part of the show.

That's a vivziepop staple. Like shit man why did we dedicate half of scream rain to Husk and Angel Dust shipping bullshit when Charlie still hasn't done jack shit that whole season? Well the answer is simple, Vivziepop hates women and loves gay men.

The problem with the songs is that they're telling a story that is not reflected by the show at best (you didn't know), shoehorned in at worst (clean it up)
