Sure the backgrounds are still gray or yellow but there's more contrast. The fact that most human designs are simple, they aren't all disorganized and red, is actually refreshing. Your eye's drawn to the characters' because they're allowed to stand out. View attachment 8287232
Look how the values in the room and hair just frame the face. Pentious' human design actually looks clean. My eyes can rest! It's all so nice. I think what put me off this show, besides the obvious, is that the constant red and songs and saturation are both monotonous and annoying. It's just fucking annoying.
Jesus FUCKING Christ, I forgot how many times the word "FUCK" was used in this scene. And it wouldn't be so bad if this was to build up to a joke, or if this was a trait for one character. But almost every FUCKING character does this all the FUCKING time.
Also here's a good example of a scene that has the character dropping the f-bomb in almost every other word.
I've been catching up on discourse since S2, and one thing I find incredibly disturbing is that the Japanese female audience seems to relate to Vox much more than they sympathize with Alastor being sexually menaced. Alastor is a piece of shit, sure, but most people would agree that individuals have the right to tell sex pests to fuck off if they're not interested in fucking them. No means no and all of that. An alarming amount of women project themselves onto Vox because 'rejection hurts' or 'his love was just that deep guys'. Alastor doesn't seem gay. Saying that he should have 'just given being gay a chance' against his orientation as to not hurt the TV man's feelings is an insane take, but sadly very normalized in this fandom. If a culture produces a female audience that relates more to the potential rapist than the victim it's a culture that shouldn't be imported, frankly.

All the people in Hell are some flavor of fruit or another, the only straight characters off the top of my head are Niffty (Grorious Nipponese) and Mimzy (Who's Jewish).
Someone posted this awful fanart of Blitzø looking especially creepy by giving their OC a potion that makes them grow a tentacle dick. Why would you draw art of your OC that looks like they got sexually assaulted by a character in the show? We all know how well HB handles sexual assault. Christ, being a fan of these shows is so embarrassing.
