I watched Hazbin S2 last night on my second monitor while gaming and I'm gonna be honest, I think Helluva Boss is cringe, I thought Hazbin S1 had the outline of a decent plot that was executed poorly with not a single song I enjoyed despite enjoying musicals but this 2nd season I actually really liked. Does anybody feel the same or should I visit the doctor for brain damage? Imo, Vox hard-carried the entire show by being a really good villain so I don't expect a 3rd season to be this good again but I think pretty much everyone just had better character writing this season and I'm not sure what exactly changed.
There's nothing wrong with liking Hazbin Hotel. Not everything needs to be analyzed through a video essay lens where you aggressively look for holes in order to bring something down so you can get sick updoots on the reddittube.

It's perfectly okay to just be like, "this is a fun show with good songs and I like it for what it is."

Now if you show up here sperging about how VIV IS LITERALLY HITLERLINI or ALASTOR IS A PERFECT BOY WHO OBVIOUSLY CAN'T HAVE DONE ANYTHING WRONG YOU ALL ARE RACISTS FOR NOT LIKING HIM etc., then you'll probably get made fun of.

Viv has said in the past that S3 is her favorite part of the story and that something that happens was so compelling it got the entire series green lit by A24/Amazon, so I'm cautiously optimistic that it is actually decent and that S2 truly was meant to be a filler season.

But its Viv writing so who knows.
If this is true, then this season needs to be longer - and hopefully it will be the series' "swan song" before shitting the fan in S4 and S5 much like The Last Kingdom """peaked""" in Season 3 with the last appearance of few key players like Alfred (David Dawson), Aethelwold (Harry McEntire) and Ragnar (Tobias Santelmann).
Here's hoping Chaddam comes back, eh?
I remember when asexuality was a symptom of some deeper psychosexual issue, and not a bullshit orientation.
It really is. Probably due to trauma or something.

Well apparently you can be homosexual and asexual. Not saying that this is confirmation of what Alastor.
With asexuality, the issue with the term is people mix it up with aromantic and think both are the same

An asexual person can feel romantic feelings while an aromantic person can feel sexual feelings

So it is believable that Alastor is asexual since he doesn't seem to show any interest in sex which is pretty consistent with his character so far

I'm getting a glimpse of that "care bears" ending everyone's talking about (in Screencaps i'll watch over the weekend)

And I gotta say its...it's just too damn funny for me to be mad at it. And I mean unintentionally funny. Like...I hope someone remembers Doug walkers old care bears clip amd dubs it over this clip soon.

This one btw.

It fits quite nicely.

Here's it the other way around.

I know the reveal of exterminations timeline has already been critiqued pretty extensively, but there's something that's been bothering me.

From what I can piece together (because there's some J.K. Rowling math going on here), Lilith's almost-uprising and disappearance either preceded or closely coincided with the start of the exterminations. If the exterminations are only a recent thing and Lilith might not have witnessed a single one, what was she rallying sinners against heaven for? What were she and her followers "peacefully protesting" against? Closed borders? Damnation without representation? Red sky pollution?

Pre-extermination, the only problems in hell were caused by the sinners themselves, which is a consequence of them landing in hell as the same crappy people they were in life and never being made to reflect, repent, or change. If Lilith wanted the situation of sinners to improve, then she needed to "empower" her people to clean up their act instead of turning the blame on Heaven.

Heaven and its higher-ups were not responsible for the state of hell. It's looking like Lilith and her supporters felt entitled to the perks of heaven without putting in even the basic work that Sir Pentious did. Which, in turn, paints Lilith's actions and motives closer to Vox's than to Charlie's, and Charlie is too naive/in denial to realize that her mother was a violent revolutionary.

Am I reading this totally wrong here? Thoughts?

Side tangent: If Lilith got out of dodge before the exterminations started, who made the cutesy picture book from the start of Season 1? It's way too hopeful for Lucifer. Vaggie/Vaggi wouldn't have known all the Lucifer/Lilith lore. Did Charlie really make her own propaganda to indoctrinate sinners about how totally cool her failguy father and girlboss mother were?

That book is a massive question mark that I don't think will ever be satisfactorily answered, because I strongly suspect the "exterminations only started 7 years ago" reveal is itself a retcon that was inserted mid-writing of season 2.

well they're both fake things so it's a moot issue

but he's right in the sense that if you cling onto a made-up label like that to explain away not getting laid as a part of your identity that you totally do on purpose, you're a faggot. thus all asexuals are faggots

this is distinct from not fucking and simply not thinking about it because you have better shit to do, like serial killing. which was how i read alastor's response, anyway

Vox claims Lilith wanted a full-on uprising while Charlie claims she wanted 'peaceful protests', Vox is almost certainly full of shit but I doubt Charlie will be completely right on that. Maybe she somehow knows Heaven doesn't know how someone gets into Heaven and was just jealous her asshole ex-husband got in and she didn't, so the moment she was allowed in she chilled out.

A ton of the pride ring's problems (because all sinners are confined there which is still stupid) really do boil down to Lucifer and Lilith letting the inmates run the asylum, sure Lucifer is unable to harm Sinners, but Lilith is implied to be very powerful in her own right, and even if she wasn't then Lucifer created the Goetia (This is something that of course is only confirmed by Viv and not in the shows) so he could just use them as attack dogs when needed. Lilith seems to have been truly respected by most sinners unlike her husband, but I have no clue as to why that would be.

If the exterminations are only a recent thing and Lilith might not have witnessed a single one, what was she rallying sinners against heaven for?
Lilith's disapereance is lining up with the Extermination. So it could be that Lilith's deal was that Adam can kill Sinners and in exchange she can enter Heaven. Which would be great for Charlie's character devolpment. She would've to deal with the fact that the person she idiolize was behind the Extermination.
Or it's Eve pretending to be Lilith. Don't ask me how you could deceive Heaven with larping

Rosie is definitely Lilith because the fact Alastor went back to her for a new contract says a lot about her ability to empower Sinners
Not to mention, back in season 1, she encouraged Charlie to inspire the cannibals by “singing” just like Lilith inspired Sinners with her song.

Pretty sure it’s Eve, plus Lucifer was the one who allowed the exterminations in the first place, Charlie said that in season 1.

Time for me to give other random thoughts on the season finale and try to avoid mentioning things that have already been said.
-What was up with the outfits Charlie and Vaggie wore? The khaki-colored pants Charlie had looked awful with the red dress and Vaggie's half long sleeve dress looked like some JRPG shit.
-The fights went on for too long and they felt that way. I would have thought the Nifty/Velvette fight end before Vox started blasting the city, since that is a basic storytelling way to raise the stakes in the climax but nope.
-I will say the reveal of Velvette having a mannequin body was neat and it fits her fashion persona.
-The destruction from the Alastor/Vox fight and the aforementioned holy weapon bordered on Bayformers/Man of Steel levels.
-Alastor did not play 4D chess, the writing just dumb down Vox #AlastorIsStillAFraud
-Lute and Abel's appearance further dragged an already long finale and sucks Lute was wasted for this season.
-Friendship song beam was one of the biggest ass pulls I've seen in recent media.

so nifty is an overlord. what are the chances they give her some insane arc and she ends up being the most powerful overlord by the end?

Rewatching Episode 7 to where Vox explains to Lucifer that his trap was built by Carmilla to which Lucifer replies he doesn't know who she is. Weren't they together at the beginning of the pilot?

Viv claimed that the reason why Katie introduces herself to Charlie despite the pilot being "spiritually Canon" is that it's probably in character for Katie to be forgetful, which I had a feeling was going to be her explanation regarding that. But what's going to be her explanation regarding Carmilla? Even though she was only in the pilot for like two seconds, those two seconds surprisingly don't align with how her character is presented in the show.

More than half of what was in the pilot is probably no longer canon, probably because more than half of what made the pilot good in the first place was done by people other than Vivzie.

So allegedly, Viv was offered 30 minutes episode for the first season but refused. I don't know how true that is because looking through any available information of the behind-the-scenes is like looking for a needle in a haystack. And Viv contradicts herself many times, so it's really hard to find the truth in the matter.

Charlie claims she wanted 'peaceful protests'
What did she do? Refugees welcome?
Why not? The inhabitants of Heaven are clearly retarded and G-d is AWOL.
Blame lardass for that.

Do not EVEN JOKE about this. :jaceknife: But seriously can you imagine you are right? That would be retarded. Where are the fucking clues??? Is there ANY indication SHIT-fty is an overlord? She doesn't even get screentime!

Well, that would be approximately... 11-14 minutes extra in total for the season, and that would have made a considerable difference in the end. Not "filler"-difference, but you could flesh out Baxter and give scenes to people who deserve it (NOT Angel Dust).
