I really don't get what makes alastor so powerful... he honestly seems to have less going for him then half the overlords. Though I also dont get what makes an overlord anymore... I thought it was deals and owning people's souls. Now it seems to work via popularity?
At least with Vox...I guess. I don't know if it works differently for everyone or something. It also seems like if you own souls it's a permanent power boost, since Husk was able to keep his powers even after he betted all the souls he owned and own soul to Alastor. And Niffty as well; I wonder if we'll ever get the backstory on her.
That's just a weird plot point honestly. The show wants you the believe that no Sinner ever questioned Lucifer or wanted his place before Vox? There was never a power hungry person or some religious nuts person that wanted to take over Hell since the extistence of mankind in that universe? It's also weird that no Overlord seems to be a person that actually held some form of political power in Hazbin. The most powerful sinner is unironically some murder hobo and not someone who actually managed to manipulate his way to the top of a country and kills thousand of innocents, started wars for his own ego or some other evil shit. You know someone that actually embodies the worst of humanity?

All of that would've been solved if he just had some powerful demons who kill every threat for him, but then Vox would've been dead at the moment he mocked Lucifer or Charlie.
It's because Alastor defeated them all because of his power boost from "Rosie". At least that's what I feel the hand-wave explanation would be.

Predictions for S3:
>Helluva Cameo (either character as a blink or you miss it in background or the tower/reference to them). I'm predicting one of the sins.
>Husk and Cherry attempt to rescue Angel/Find a way to break his contract.
>Charlie finds out there are some sinners who just simply CAN'T be redeemed, and their sinner monstrous form, even when they were alive, is who they truly are.
>Vox humble pie character arc.
>Sinner Adam revealed at the end of S3?

Vizie definitely needs someone to tard-wrangle her, and to make sure her TBS (Tumblr Brain Syndrome) doesn't flare up during her writing.

Sounds like the kind of people who did nothing wrong to me, why would they be in hell?

But I've decided this is actually hell/heaven #4031267, since it seems tiny as fuck and their idea of ancient history doesn't seem very long. Each franchise gets its own copy of lucifer/adam/etc, like how every mcdonalds used to have that bench with the fiberglass clown. This one's just for fags and piddling losers.

i went back and looked over the pilot again. Amazon really did a good job ridding this show of bean mouth and steven universe type shit. The pilot has a lot more bean mouth moments and the art is much more similar to other popular western animation. It took so long for the seasons to start coming out i kind of forgot what the pilot looked like. It looks so much better now. I guess thats to be expected when you fire everyone involved and hire the big guys tho.

charlie specifically had that steven universe look. Thank you amazon.

I prefer the pilot's style better, due to how emotive and extreme the expressions could get.

There's a lot more (especially with Charlie) but we would be here all day if I posted every single one of them.

i get that. I dont hate the pilot animation by any means but i do prefer current season more. Just my personal preference.

S3 will feature more sensitive side of Vox after he was humbled and demoted. Because S3 is indeed Alastor and Lilith season.
It's safe to say that unless the episodes are similar in length to the finale the pacing will probably suck like S1 did, even though the pacing of S2 was far from perfect, it did benefit from being a bit of a filler season. But I can already tell they're likely spreading themselves too thin with the plot points they want to cover.

Judging from what I’ve heard about and read in this thread about S3, it definitely feels like it will decline in quality im; not to say Hazbin was even good to begin with. But S2 should be the standard, and I feel like the show would benefit if it had more episodes. 8 doesn’t feel like enough, at least 13-15 would be enough to tackle the side plots while not taking away from whatever the main plot is. Unless it’s actually going to develop Charlie as a character and make her less autistic, I don’t find myself being tuned in as much as I was with S2, and hearing Angel be a focus of S3 already has me not interested in hearing the walking sex joke make jokes about sex every five seconds. It already seems like they’re really pushing for Husk and Angel to be a thing too, so there’s that I guess.

Also might also be just me, but I feel like a year and 10 months is too long of a wait, I get animation isn’t easy, but with how much momentum S2 had and feeling like the show was finally getting somewhere. Considering how apparently high the viewership of it was, it really feels like waiting almost two years for a new season really kills the anticipation. I forgot S2 was a thing until I saw this thread, I would assume like a year or two wait is just the standard at this point for animation, but if not for this thread I would have completely forgotten about it.

honestly get rid of the fag spider and give me more zestial, granted i fear the more time he would get the more likely they'll just fuck his character up terribly. sucks because i want to know more about him and he has the best design in the series imo
give us the CHAD spider not the FAG spider

It honestly feels like the Hazbin pilot and Helluva Season 1 were the Universes high points. What the hell happened?
I think what happened (at least for me and some other people I've talked to about this franchise) was Vivzie had interesting premises in place for Hazbin Hotel and Helluva Boss, but she and her writers ended up losing focus. Instead of the eponymous hotel being the center of Hazbin's story, it's about a war between Heaven and Hell. Instead of Helluva being about a squad of demon assassins carrying out hits for the deceased, it's about relationship drama. That, and we all know how crappy Vivzie is at writing comedy: "C**K C**K SH** F**K A**!"

In that case it is because she got rid of the writers (Hazbin Hotel pilot), or one of the writers stopped cowriting the script with her (Helluva Boss season 1).

Perhaps develop seasons back-to-back, and maybe give a longer time would work? Give 3 years or so? But then they really must flesh out the idea for Season 3 and then Season 4.
IDK, I think it would be good to have Season 3 with 13 episodes just so it's possible to have character development and maybe some filler?

You're not the only one tired of him, believe me. Every time he is mentioned, it feels like a waste of time. Husk should be his own fucking character, but it feels he is brought up to serve as a ladder to enhance Angel Dust as a character. Fucking annoying, it is what it is.

They should give more attention to the cast overall.

If S3 had more episodes Viv would have long started hyping it up. Absolute best case is what happened with S2's finale, except maybe also applied to the season premiere, because I haven't seen her hype up even longer episodes either.
But Viv did mention that the wait for S4 would be significantly shorter because they're working on it alongside S3.

I think it's a case where Viv's main idea was bad, but in the process she hit on something good, and instead of recognizing it she continued to power forward with all of her bad ideas because she couldn't let them go. It's like those restaurants on Kitchen Nightmares where they have something that works but because the chef has an ego issue he refuses to move in that direction and continues to try to make his shitty curry-pudding hybrid dish work at the expense of everything else.
