After seeing people argue on Twitter about whether or not Alastor would really get along (evenly weirdly) with the Vees, it hit me what part of the problem is for the fandom.

There's not cut-and-dried line about what's canon. There was so much information about characters and the world passed along in livestreams, old interviews, etc. that may not be accurate anymore. And no one knows. Vivzie may not even remember what she's said in the past; she doesn't strike me as the type to keep copious notes.

This is where the criticism of her work as "professional fan fiction" comes in. She's writing the story and characters as if they've already been established (though her own headcanon and stuff shared in livestreams), and so doesn't really show or establish anything on screen (or does so in a pretty piss-poor manner).

Thoughts on season 1 vs season 2? I've found myself liking this season a lot more than the last. Not sure why. Ive liked the songs more in this season.

Im not super invested in all the background and more so just take it as it comes. Brain off enjoyment type shit. Reading some of the stuff in here has been quite interesting since I dont think about it too deep most of the time.

Let's also take a moment to realize that the one and only character to be redeemed so far is more or less straight. What did viv mean by this??

Im taking bets on who dies
VOX - betrayed and depowered somewhat
ALASTOR - owns VOX, HUSK, NIFTY and is more powerful then ever before (aka. no more leashes of deals or soul deals)
VELVETTE and VALENTINO - they switch sides to hotel side due to Alastor words
ANGEL DUST - traumatized, but on better terms now I guess
SERA - probably dead, because she isn't in song
LUCIFER - critically wounded 1000% but not dead
BAXTER, CHERRY, HUSK - keys to defeat the mind controlled Angel and VOX plan
CARMALLA - both sided backstabber (cuz she is Arms Dealer after all)
LILITH - appears (probably)
and probably more

Also:
Null - Doesn't appear he is not canon even on this site.

The quality seems to be the same to me, we just traded some improvements for new issues. The pacing is now slower, too slow sometimes, previously ignored characters are given more screen-time, at the expense of the newly introduced ones, music is more catchy, but now songs are shorter and they take a look of the runtime, Vox is a more charismatic villain than Adam, to the point that he makes Charlie look so useless in comparison, etc.

Really the only straight up improvement was in the animation department, but I would say that its offset by the fact that the script is still garbage full of plot holes. But I will give them this, the humor this season has been actually funny, not hilarious, but funny enough.

Reddit being based? Hell must’ve frozen over.

I've generally found this season terrible -- not that season 1 was any great shakes -- but I will give them credit for Vox. Nearly as fun a character as S1 Alastor (certainly funnier and less edgyboi Mary Sue-ish) and a gargantuan improvement over Adam as an antagonist, who was simply one of the worst written and most irritating characters I have ever seen in any medium. Memo to Viv: the word "fuck" is not inherently funny, nor does using it without rhyme or reason to pepper every other phrase out of a character's mouth make it funny.

It's mind boggling to me that the next batch of episodes is the end of the season because it feels like the plot is just beginning. Charlie and the hotel have done jack shit all season and I think the only satisfying way season 2 ends is on a cliffhanger where it looks like vox is gonna win, so they can deal with it in season 3

I agree that S2 is a noticable step up from S1, but maybe it's because I expected a total train wreck like HB's second season so I'm riding on some very low expectations being exceeded. Vox is definitely hard carrying this either way.

Pentious being bi is funny because during the development of the pilot, Viv initially labeled him as that as a placeholder since she hadn't fully figured out his sexuality at the time. That's probably one of the reasons people were shipping him and Cherri. They were playing it safe and speculated him in a hetero relationship. There was also Viv confirming back then that Pentious had a crush on someone with leaks eventually revealing it was supposed to have been Rosie.
I genuinely hope they kill and redeem baxter for literally no fucking reason without any buildup whatsoever because it'd be so fuckin funny
Half of his shtick is being "Pentious 2.0". Might as well continue that and have him be the next soul redeemed. Then have next season reveal his backstory that incorporates real world events they're not going to outright name even though it's obvious what they're alluding to. And maybe sing a duet with Niffty about their feelings for each other.
I will take a wild guess and say Cherri dies just to have her end up in Heaven with Pentious (even if their relationship was poorly developed).
Actually on second thought, a BaxterxNiffty song isn't that bad of an idea.

I legit quit watching HB a long time ago. something about it just felt weird so i dipped. Probably like early-mid s2 if i had to guess but IDK. might have been s1 for all i know.

on the note of vox carrying. ive been kind of let down with alastor. his pilot persona was way better but s2 alastor seems even worse than s1 somehow and s1 was mid. i really wish he would go back to his old entertainment enjoying self. i dont think he needs character growth personally. having just a chaotic guy who purely wants entertainment was good enough.
