Do you believe that this series will turn to shit?

Somewhere in this mess is a much better story about a cult leader going to hell and finding redemption in sticking up for his fellow sinners against unnecessary genocide against his kind, at first for his own personal gain but gradually developing a belief in what he's fighting for.

I feel like Gravity is S2's version of Stayed Gone, a memorable song that serves no current narrative purpose, but does set up the next season's antagonist, thing is I think Lute won't be the main antagonist of S3.

Called it before, but he would have worked on Vox's big shark, which will have the 'super weapon' attached to it and will know some flaw it has.

Not offering gift baskets as the sole apology. Sera could have done...so many different things here; apologize for the exterminations and assure the citizens of Hell that they have ceased; offering herself to be the target of the Sinners' wrath as she was the sign off for the exterminations and plead for them to leave the rest of Heaven alone as they shouldn't have to suffer for the mistake that she made; maybe show proof that Sir Pentious is up in Heaven and that redemption does seem to be possible.

Would Vox and the other Sinners have backed down after any of that? Probably not. I could see Vox twisting any of that into his favor. But it would have been better than just standing letting Vox monologue and talk shit.

But gift baskets are funny, you see. Allegedly.

You could solve every writing, character, and worldbuilding issue this show has, and it would still almost certainly fail thanks to its reliance on bathos.
 
So like is the reason Abel's halo is dented because he got his head caved in with a rock because if so I think that's very funny

Half of the fucking cast hasn't done a shit, Velvette for example despite being part of the main antagonist group of this season still feels underdeveloped in comparison to Vox who is pretty much the only one that pushes the story forwards.

Another thought, why Sera didn't just smite Vox back when she had him right there in his rally? Bitch saw that he was the instigator and pretty much declared war in front of her, like sure doing that would only rise the tensions between heaven and hell but if your job is to protect heaven and you have the new self proclaim leader of hell why not stop him before he rallies more troops? What was the point of showing your true form if you did shit with it?

It takes a writer with several orders of magnitude more talent than these people possess to make an interesting character out of someone who derives their power and motifs from social media, and even then it's a tossup whether they can pull it off.

Plot progression and because Viv wouldn't dare kill off a major character that she wants people to glaze over.
 
I will say it is fascinating how different the writing problem that Hazbin and Helluva both have even if they do overlap in some areas

Hazbin's clearly is more rooted just in general plot issues that could easily be resolved with little tweaks and such (like maybe have Lucifer try more to fuck with Vox yet still have Vox outwit and taunt him or Sera try to do more than go along with the gift basket plan while bringing along someone who clearly wants a war with them)

Helluva's issues are more character focused in how the story is just utterly fucking annoying to follow because Stolas is just that much of an unlikeable jackass, it would be like if Valentino became the main character of Hazbin and we're supposed to sympathize with him more than Angel.

Don't get me wrong, Hazbin also has character problems (like Charlie being too much of a dumbass at times) and Helluva has story problems (literally all the stuff with Andre's plan), but it's clear that some of the scales tip heavier in one direction more than the other.

Right? But alas, that would need the series to be "Biblically inspired".

It's stupid now, but I will offer up a simple fix that might only need to add a line or two of dialogue: After Sera reveals her true form Vox gives a quick hand signal, within seconds at least a dozen of Vox's goons reveals themselves, they're all wielding holy firearms and scattered around the entire area. It's implied he had them in place in case Lucifer tried to interfere with his speech, but the last-minute intel from Angel let him stay his hand until now. Despite being powerful, Abel and Emily have never been in a fight and Sera isn't significantly better of one, they're outnumbered and surrounded, knowing from the events of the finale of S1 that a single reasonably placed shot can kill any of them and being extremely protective of Emily, Sera is unable to kill Vox in this critical moment.
 
The hotel has really become a background for this show and rehabilitating sinners is on the back burner. Last season and this season had to have the biggest stakes of going to war with Heaven, and I doubt we're going to lower the scales.
