I haven't watched season 2 yet, but I've seen enough clips and whatnot, and is it just me or has the plot gotten stupider in a much more noticeable way? None of the power scaling makes any sense and neither does the timeline anymore.

Mimzy looking a bit like Vivziepop or is it just me?
Why does Alastor's face look "smaller"? Compare:

It's not so much the grin, or the angle - and I swear I don't mean to be nitpicky here. It seems he looks weird. Maybe it's the "front facing Simpsons" problem.

But animation was pretty fucking cool. Gotta say that. Niffty didn't get hit or I was skipping the video.

HE'S A CUCK!
HE'S FRAUD!
HE'S STOIC!
SEEEEAAAANNNN MEEEEMZEEEEE LOOK AT WHAT THEY ARE MAKING ME GO THROUGH! THEY TOOK AWAY MUH KEEDZ MUH STAFF AND ROUUUZEEEEE! :really:
Asexual skelly really is getting buck broken.
Also side note. Why the fuck did Husk say he was going to spank AngelDust for saving his life. What the fuck nigga hes not 5 what is this DIALOGUE?!?
That is very unlike the behaviour of Husk.
Ngl with the throwing around of catchphrases and how even Nifty held her own against Val, I thought I was watching a pitch vid for a fighting game. Tag me when a game is announced at the end of this season.
Only if I can watch a Michael-like figure have nice fucking fatalities on Asmodeus, Stolas, Blitzo and some others. Then I think I can buy it. MK-Hotel

Is it just me or are the further we get into season 2 the jankier and inconsistent the models and animation are getting? Alastor's parts seem super janky whenever he's on screen, like it was so noticeable when he was talking to Rosie (she looked fine though). Like they aren't doing a good job of hiding the tween work very well it starts to look like a damn goanimate video in some parts

edit: oh i see i just got to the weeb nifty song and the fight scene (god imagine animating these busy ass characters fighting like this EESH). that'll explain why the animation suffered in other parts lmao

Just watched them. This show is incapable of having platonic relationships without some form of sexual or romantic innuendo.

It would make the show more impactful if angel dust is the only character with sex addiction issues. Literally everyone in this show except for one or two cannot pass up the opportunity to make remarks about sex, or partake in actions that are related to sex, or implying something sexual will occur. It’s so irritating and boring.

From how I saw it, Vox feeling let down due to Alastor’s rejection was more about Vox being a young fella with big hopes that were crushed by a mentor he looked up to. Nope. It’s fag stuff.

Ironically this show needs to be less “inclusive” and “creative” to become any good.

After two solid episodes it was expected that they would drop the ball somewhere but holy:
EPISODE 3
The weakest so far, my God what they did to Charlie? Remember those episodes every cartoon used to have where the mc ends embarrassing themselves in front of everyone for no reason? That was this episode, in a proper comedy it might have worked, the Dany-do-bad scenes were somewhat funny because Erika and the animation where carrying it but it's the context that makes it very retarded, the fucking redemption song sounded just like that song Pim was singing before Mr.Frog kicked his ass lmao. I didn't buy Vox and Velvette's chemistry, hard to see their dynamic working together when Charlie is delivering everything they need in a silver plate.
Cherry's song was ok, she and Baxter are barely characters as I feared.

EPISODE 4

Alastor gets raped the episode. Good that they didn't went with the gay mustache but lamentably kept the dyke haircut, "Don't you forget" was a fun song and I did like seeing him plot behind eveyone's back, ok backstory I think you get the idea that he's a power hungry asshole that felt cheated out of his deal with Rosie. Vox gets more focus and it was pretty funny to watch him buckbreak big Al but he being a gay twink that wanted to be friends with him just feels so forced, obvious fujo bait aside it's hard to believe this guy is a cult leader if this is how he acted before meeting Alastor.
Fight scene was cool but lacked the big "umpf" to make it stand out to me, I agree with @Re(Runner)48 on the lack of context in what their powers even are hurts the understanding of the whole sequence, I didn't even knew that Velvette was supposed to be some kind of technowitch!
Niffty's song was also fun, I still hold that the visuals don't fit her character tho.

Overall, not a good look, Charlie as a character has suffered a lot thanks to these two episodes. I understand what they were going for, she feels guilty for Pentious and was in a high after knowing he's still alive but making her act like a complete retard with zero disregard to consecuences was not the way to do it, if anything this is where she gets serious and realizes how much the Vees represent a huge obstacle to her goals. Of course, this would only happen in a more well written show.

Unironically speaking, Hazbin Hotel would have worked way better as a fighting game. Not only has Viv a knack for creating countless characters with different abilities but being able to follow each character story individualy would have resolved many pacing issues. Fighting games are also known for having convoluted plots.

I don't get what any of them really do. They're supposed to be powerful but seem to become jobbers randomly, Valentino has absolutely no voice consistency. Not in the audiophile pedantic way but in a way that's so jarring that I don't recognize the character in different clips. Velvette is a fun character, probably because she's used sparingly, but she comes off as an adopted daughter in the dynamic.

I liked it on the first watch but felt the same way. Watching it a second time and I think they skimped on the budget. It feels like they made a couple scenes that were cool but nothing in between so they had to stitch it together with awkward jump cuts. It's very amateur despite being incredibly polished.

Actually breaks character for someone who died in like the 50's they JUST invented that word so I highly doubt he knew what the fuck that even ment.
I mean he's in Hell where people from the modern day keep coming in and one of his associates is a social media influencer along with his active interest in modernizing himself.

Vox literally put Alastor in the cuck chair.

S2 is now 10/10, all is forgiven. Fuck that deer twink.
Deltarune fans of Krusie in shambles: Alastor got the cuckchair before Noelle did. How will they recover? Tell it like it is, Donald!

Perhaps he "learned" the word while in hell? Velvette told him and he "keeps up with the times".

What I mean to say is he is taking like Alastor who is supposed to be old too. I could understand if he tries to keep up with lingo. But the way this is handled he seems too comfortable in it, you know? With the amount of people dying and going to hell, there should be so many different catchphrases, lingos, slurs, slangs, and vocabulary.

It would be interesting if hes been around for so long he has so much different vocabulary it might slip in some stuff from other eras or lingo that is outdated just because of habit and the need to CONSTANTLY change. This just doesnt give me the feeling he died in the 50's this makes me feel like he is Vivs age and she is doing thr "How do you do fellow kids".

I get where you're coming from but I can see Vox picking up modern lingo as the tv folks back in the day were kind of like computer people that went on to care about new tech and lingo if they were into it early enough and sufficiently enough. That and watching Caleb Hammer explain what a "gooner" is to Gretchen Whitmer who tried to use the term makes it a little more believable, but I doubt Vivzie went that deep about any of it. Would be fun if Vox randomly used insults others didn't get because it was from his time.

It just doesn't help writing wise as they ALL sound like this. At least the suggestion would make Vox dialogue different. Is anyone else getting that if you took the characters names above their lines and just read their lines you WOULDN'T be able to tell the difference?

That's fair, the show has a big issue that everything and everyone becomes one blob of indistinguishable nonsense.
