Episode 4 was definitely the best one so far (in this show and Helluva Boss), but I mean; that’s really not a high bar.

Oh man. Vox and Velvette are hardcore carrying the entire show at this point: even though they’ve only been the focus of like two episodes; their VA’s play off each other well and have actual chemistry: unlike everyone at that ratty ass Hotel.

Maybe I’m just thick, but I didn’t read Vox as having a crush on Alastor (until I saw that tweet).
Oh, and I forgot Alastor was supposed to be black again,, so, not only is his soul potentially owned by a Jewish women (if she’s actually Lilith), he was literally being whipped as well. Damn.

I do wonder if the ‘1 thing’ Amazon would not allow Viv to do was actually having sequences of Vox and Val fucking each other in front of Alastor.

Oh, and I did actually chuckle at some of Katie’s comments, which surprised me. Still hate her voice, though.
This show has been so painfully unfunny for so long that I’ve forgotten that it was supposed to be comedy of sorts.

I think with the pacing in Season 2 compared to like Season 1 of HH and Season 2 of HB is that it feels more focused

Season 1 spent more time dicking around within its first four episodes focusing more on introducing as many characters as possible and random side plots rather than a clear focus on the main plot until the last 4 episodes, which even then were rushed by an offscreen timeskip where everyone suddenly became best friends.

So far Season 2 feels more focused as there is clear focus on some plotlines than randomly throwing new shit at you than not paying it off with even the new characters clearly serving a purpose. Hell it utilizes the songs more as aside from Nifty's song most of the songs do a decent job at moving the plot and establishing character motives/information which is what the songs in a musical function as. As to whether the songs are good or not is up to personal taste.
Pacing is like MLP: FiM S2 (Yes I have seen this show as kid somehow). I wouldn't say it's great but def better. Now it's actually a bit more enjoyable than whatever S1 has attempted to represent in like I don't fucking know each 5 minutes.

You forgotten that they allowed entire Invincible show and The Boys + spinoff to exist also

Charlie got a lobotomy between the pilot and the show. RIP pilot Charlie, who was naive but not an idiot.

The MC should be the focus of a show. Charlie isn't, anymore.

Twitter is blowing up over the scenes with Alastor in Vox and Val's bedroom, with some going "Haha, stinky deer deserves it coz he hurt Vox's feelings!" and mist flipping out over the sexual assault aspect .

Alastor died in the 30s. Doubtless he's run across people having sex in Hell before now ( shit, he might have turned the wrong corner and seen guys going at it when alive). I don't think Vox intended to assault /harass Alastor by having him bedside while he and Val fucked, but to rub Alastor's nose in it: "See what you missed out on, loser?!"

Alastor doesn't give a shit because he's not interested in Vox and never has been. And Vox, narcissistic egomaniac that he is, can't accept that.
It's now called X not Twitter :)
Also isn't that like average Vivzie moment that potential SA scene appears with format of a joke?

Even just the flashback is pretty clear that Vox's feelings for Alastor are more than he is letting on, and that's not getting into the whole modern-day obsession where Vox drags a captured Alastor for smoothies and puts him in a cuck chair.
Though speaking of the flashback, I did like the detail that Vox's voice had an old analog TV filter over it, and even if he does struggle with being an egomaniac who wants to be on the very top of the totem pole, it does give more evidence he seems to legitimately want to share power with those he considers allies, wow a villain that's multidimensional, has some positive character traits and isn't just a one note evil bad guy, I'd almost impressed with Viv if I knew he stayed a villainous character to the end.

Holy shit, learn to multi-reply

I'm sorry, but there should be a mandated threshold of how many faggots and lesbians one should put in a show. Even and especially if your set your show in hell.

Yay, Rosie is Lilitroon! Adam was married to a cannibal I guess, which makes sense with the thing about "demoness" idea. So Eve was taken over by the Evil entity thing.
What probably means that Charlie has the "Good" entity inside her unless a new character drops in.
Honestly, it makes sense when you think about it.

I mean, why would she go to the trouble of helping Charlie with the hotel, even if she is the ‘kindest overlord in Hell’? Unless, she had another reason for doing it.

Not to mention, that talk she had with Charlie, last season. I have a feeling, ‘Rosie’ wasn’t just talking about Charlie and Vaggie, she was talking about herself and her relationship with her daughter and husband.

I’m not complimenting Viv’s writing, I’m just pointing out the ‘not-so subtle hints’ she gives.

So I watched episode 3, and here are my thoughts:

-Charlie has been such an annoying MC. She's been lobotomized from her pilot self from a cheerful yet smart demon who knew to be careful around Sinners. And would actually take advice. I do hope that this is a flaw they're going to address with Charlie, since Angel Dust did call out that her apologies are starting to become meaningless, but the fact that she doesn't listen to her girlfriend and friends is very frustrating. She doesn't even attempt to do what Vaggie advised, or respect Angel Dust's boundaries. She just bounces into whatever SHE feels in right without regarding how other's feel.

-Vaggie is just here to go "that just happened" and they have forgotten her one plotline of trying to find a new name for herself.

Cherri's "arc" is rushed and her joining the hotel was expected, but felt unearned. We know basically nothing about her as a person besides some very basic info, and we're supposed to believe that her sudden love for a guy is all the reason for why she would try to redeem herself.

-Baxter is pretty much just here to give backstory on Sir Pentious because the last season didn't have time to do that. There is really no reason for him to be here, and I feel as his character would have worked better in season 1, but I digress.

-Angel Dust is okay but I feel as if a lot of his own character development happened offscreen. I'm supposed to believe that he has become a better person over these past seven months, but when you get a character who's screentime is half sex jokes and the other half abuse trauma, you don't really see that progress. Things brings me to Angel Dust's sin: I'm not going to bring up the whole mafia backstory because maybe that's not canon anymore. I'm a bit annoyed that these backstories are revealing that there's just one bad thing that someone did that sent them to hell, instead of multiple sins. But whatever. I'm just shocked that Charlie didn't already know about this. It has been 7 months. I guess this just proves that Charlie doesn't really know the people that she calls "friends". Again, maybe this is flaw that Charlie has to actively listen to other people.

-Husk and Nifty are here. I don't really have much to say about them. Nifty is funny, but she really is just a comic relief character.

-I did enjoy Vox's and Vel's dynamic here. Who would have thought; not only does the iq in the room rise when Val is not here, but the references to sex lower to. But I do know that Velvette will be the least developed of the Vees, and she's really only here to serve as Vox's hypeman. (Remember when Viv said Hazbin Hotel was going to be the female-led show?) And Vox...well...I'll give my thoughts on Vox once I watch episode 4.

While this season is better in the fact that there aren't as many plot points fighting to get screentime, that doesn't mean that the plot points we got aren't being rushed through like Hell. Because the show doesn't have time to give each of these plot points the screentime that is needed for them.

On that subject, there was a prediction earlier that Baxter was a spy sent by Vox. That could turn out to be true since he admitted to working for Vox and is doing vague science stuff in the hotel basement that may be featured later on.

Charlie is the most unlikable MC ever.
I'm glad others feel the same way. I really, really dislike her character. I understand the point is that she's supposed to be the "golden heart but extremely naive" character and that was fine in the beginning, but at this point she just comes across as stupid. Just like S1, she gets a dumb idea and refuses to listen to everyone else and just keeps running things deeper into the ground. Even these episodes where she keeps going back to Vox and the especially dumb Speedrun to Redemption segment. There's a point where it goes from being quirky to me just thinking the character is a fucking moron.

She's easily my least favorite character by a particularly large mile and that's frustrating when it is the main character.

Is it wrong that the thing that jumped out at me the most was how inconsistent Valentino's voice and accent was?
No, that's annoyed me since the beginning too. It just goes in and out. Which is weird, because his VA is Puerto Rican so you'd think this wouldn't be an issue.

HE'S A CUCK!
HE'S FRAUD!
HE'S STOIC!
I saw this scene and was taken aback. One because the animation for him smoking Val's cigarette and smoking it when it comes out of his "vents" it makes it look like he actually brapped and shit himself after getting fucked in the ass.

Why? Why did we need this? It brings in alot to question.

Viv talks alot about caring about consent and ace representation. So this is clearly nonconsentual and insulting acepeople by saying. "Haha he gets sex and you get nothing." Adding into the end of Vox and Alastar screaming at eachother and Valentino wanting to make porn of it. From what was shown what is actually stopping Vox from pulling a "Valentino" he watches Angel getting raped, he ties Alastor in these weird erotic poses, those cables?? are they apart of him and does he feel with them because if so thats just molestation at this point, he clearly gets off to Alastor. He clearly didn't care about AngelDust being raped and seems to be very into Angels face and prodding him saying (Vox) hes really fucked up and him confirming he is a degenerate.

Why did Vox even consider being friends with Alastor? No showing of their relationship, or how they got together. Nothing.. okay... Good job Viv.. Tell don't show..

So if its been 70 years this math does not add up. Valentino didn't show up and neither did Velvette in that time period for him to join the V's. Vox would TECHNICALLY be older and know the most of hell compared to the other two. So did he then just want a partnership with Alastor? Really bad and confusing writing.

How did those two even become overlords in that time? And get all of this especially Velvette and Valentino this just doesn’t add up.

Also side note. Why the fuck did Husk say he was going to spank AngelDust for saving his life. What the fuck nigga hes not 5 what is this DIALOGUE?!?

Okay, that was a pretty damn cool fight scene. Credit is where credit is due.
Eh I think its mediocre just because we dont know what powers they had originally. Alot of this just seems like a grab bag of what their abilities are. Mainly Velvette, Husk, and Vox.

Ngl with the throwing around of catchphrases and how even Nifty held her own against Val, I thought I was watching a pitch vid for a fighting game. Tag me when a game is announced at the end of this season.
