I'm more neutral to what Pentious sin is than I was before, I still don't like it but I get what they were going for with it, since if you focus on the apathy angle you could say it falls into Sloth, even if with how the Ripper murders turned out some socially inept hermit claiming to be an eyewitness wouldn't be taken seriously, the universe would judge you for what's right regardless if it would have mattered or not (The same can be said with his attempted sacrifice that redeemed him in the first place).

I feel it would have been much better if the focus was on that apathy part with him justifying at the time that his testimony somehow wouldn't mean much or law enforcement will catch the killer anyways and he didn't want to be hounded in an interrogation room and dragged off to testify in court. If S1 set him more up as someone who just wants to be left alone in his workshop all day and couldn't give a damn about anything outside of it, his redemption and past sin would have worked a lot better.
Some 4chan post I saw kind of explained how to properly utilize Pentious' cowardice as a sin:

"The problem with Pentious backstory is that it boils everything down to a single incident. Stating that people go to hell in this universe if they feel bad enough about themselves is horrifying in ways I don't think they realized or intended, but they also missed out on a much more interesting reason with the backstory they already had.
It would have been better if, instead of feeling bad about letting Jack the Ripper get away, he had let a lot of awful things happen out of cowardice. He saw in that alley multiple murders, women being abused, crime deals, injustices, and more, and let all of it happen anyway. Then it's not just one incident he was too afraid to report, it's a lifetime of ignoring others and letting the world stay a horrible place. You could even play into him, pretending the people outside were part of his life, as a sort of excitement of seeing other people's lives, good or bad, like they're a TV drama for him to be invested in. He would still not be a truly evil person or directly responsible for people suffering, but it would be a better excuse for why he went to hell. The rest of the episode would have played out the same; he would just have enough culpability to make him a complex character, instead of babyfying everything about him." - Some random 4chan user
One question: Really Staff tried to stay away from Viziepop? This Season really have great improvement than S1, even Looks like isn't a work of Viziepop.
From my insider knowledge that I mentioned here before, Viv listens to what Amazon tells her. Season 1 was made before they got the streaming deal with Prime. Perhaps Amazon is giving her more "advice" for these seasons.

Don’t think I’ve seen this one before.

Vivzie: I made this show to face my demons of religious trama.

What trauma? Still salty your parents dragged you to church Sunday mornings instead of letting you watch cartoons?

So finally got around watching the first two episodes of the season. I'll admit, watching this show for what it is instead of what it used to be/could have been made it more tolerable, enjoyable even.
PROS:
- The animation was a major step up. I want to give particular attention to how Sir Pentious' backstory was animated. I was always skeptical on how Earth would look like in Hazbin, and for what it's worth, it was passable.
- A good portion of the gags were fairly humorous. Some went on a bit too long, but they never became grating.
- The songs were nice to listen to, especially the Vees' portions.
- Lute's predicament and relationship with Adam was tragic and heartfelt.
CONS:
- So many characters, and it's evident that the writers are struggling to give them equal screentime, so a lot of them ended up in the background most of the time.
- Cherri Bomb. These episodes are insisting Pentious died specifically for her, when in reality, he came to the conclusion that killing Adam would cease the battle, which did thanks to Lucifer. And besides that... that's all she talks about, and that's all she's going to talk about in next week's episodes, and so on, and so forth.

There's more I could list, but I want to point out something I notice in the credits. Christian Borle is now part of the main cast, but Joel and Lili are still credited as guest stars. That's not all, though. Brightman, Keith, and Kimiko have been demoted to guests. Brightman I can sorta understand, but not so much with the other two. Did something happen behind the scenes that causes them to take a dip in their salaries, because I doubt Husk and Niffty are only going to talk in half or less of the season, as minor as they are in terms of significance.

Unless they faced some actual physical abuse from a religious authority figure or group as a child, anyone who uses the term "religious trauma" should be laughed off of the internet.

As for Vivzie herself, I imagine she's actually got more trauma due to the fact that her dad cheated on her mom and left them (hence why all of her characters have daddy issues).

And worse of all: most are breadtubers. Want a more despicable creature than this (other than coomers/gooners)?
Animation is an art form and storytelling medium that deserves to be treated and analyzed as seriously as any other (within reason).

So the fact that most of the people trying to do so are subhuman communists is disappointing.

“It’s a little version of my trauma Amazon, I want you to have it.”

And it’s just spergy tumblr oc panderslop that not only treats Christianity like cheap merchandise, but also somehow has more animation budget than invincible and One punch man.

He does say that he didn't have friends or even went outside during his retelling of his life, this what I meant when I said that for every bit of good bit of character that we get from now on still gets undone by the rushed mess that was S1, crying for your friends doesn't work when we the audience barely see you being friends.

Keith, and Kimiko have been demoted to guests
Very weird taking into account that Niffty does gets a song for herself in a future episode and that is clear that she and Baxter are going to be a thing, which again doesn't bode well for him if his love interest is now just relegated to guests appearances.

Ouch....damn maybe it's my kindredness for that kinda pain but...she has my sympathy.

It was a little funny when that lesbian clown was on the verge of losing it and was just starting to calm down when that angel popped in and quickly threw her on an emotional rollercoaster before popping out and she just snaps

It's probably some union thing. Like, if you have less than 40% of the spoken dialogue in an episode/season, you're automatically billed as a guest star.

Not that different from all those right wing Christians movies or the Televangelists in yankee land, or the megachurches or right wing politicians. Soooo..what we angry Viv is musceling in their racket?

Also, is it just me or does human Pentious bare an uncanny resemblence to Rip from Hellsing?

Not sure if this was posted here yet, but Viv officially confirmed that the Goetia are Lucifer's creations, and that's why the Speaker of God looks like them because she was an inspiration for Lucifer when creating them.

I recalled Viv state that the Goetia were going to be explored in Hazbin in a Livestream shortly after it got picked up, which honestly, even back then, I was skeptic about that given how large the cast already was at the time to focus on a class that has their place in a spin off show.
