Why tf would I buy it on blueray when it's free on prime?

Or can just pirate it?
Blu-Ray will likely have a lot of BTS footage, commentaries, and most importantly, lossless audio. Collectors have a serious hatred for how streaming has locked so many series behind lossy AAC and AC-3 audio formats to save bandwidth.

(...)BECAUSE I SAYS SO!
This is one of the key reasons, in terms of plotline (other than alphabet crap, strong wahmen, etc) that is ruining today's shows and animation. Basing things on feelings. The people in charge of writing need to cut that out right now, "because I said so" is not a good excuse", and it almost feels like a fusion of Chekov's gun with Deus Ex Machina. It's terrible, and no civilization being faced with these "options" would take it seriously - or they would "do it", yet in their realpolitik would pretend nothing changed.
Dante's inferno categorized sin and made so that the bigger the sin the deeper you fall, with its very bottom featuring souls that were either completely buried in ice for eternity or thrown into the Soulchupper; the ultimate Sin-grindatron 3000 himself Lucifer. Simple and elegant solution.
The exclusion of an "ugly" ring like Treason was a crime against writing. They should have made a part of Hell that really was fucking hell. They did, which was Satan's throne. But that was it???? Just that? Everything else is Los Angeles, New York City, Detroit, Flint, Camden, Gary, New Orleans, Baltimore, et al?
As if these writers wouldn't have Stalin and Mao living it up in Heaven.
Lenin, perhaps. You bet some freakshow like Harvey Milk, Harry Hay or whatever is in "heaven" and puts a finger in the bum of Faint Pisser and Shatbed, and whoever knows what other biblical figures she decides to shit on.

Alastroon will be Noëlle's chair partner? A stupid joke, considering Deltatroon fans like to say she will get cuckqueaned by Kris and Susie and will get to watch.
And Emily's naivety could be her downfall in the hands of a writer who doesn't care about plot armor. To reiterate, we seen most of the populace would rather live their debauched lives and now they feel empowered to kill angels thanks to Charlie. In a better show Emily would end up like the Western women who backpack through South America or Asia the moment she steps into Hell. Or she is killed by Niffty because the latter is a psychopath that Charlie instructed to stab any angel she sees before the battle last season. This would result in Charlie having to deal with the consequences of her own actions and add real character drama.
LoL it would be really funny (in a poetic way) if Emily gets decapitated. But I say put her for an hour on Earth to "toughen her up", but of course, properly tutored. And Charlotte too, for her to see actions have consequences.

...Alright, Viv, props to you, this made me genuinely grin quite a bit. This thread now has a dedicated merch to it, huh? xd
Looks like she browses the thread. Hi Vivianne! Happy birthday to you.
If this was pilot Angel Dust I'd be disappointed at his lack of screen time, but this is series Angel Dust who lost all his edge and exists solely to make you feel bad for him.
No joke, I would watch Trashbin ONLY if there was a supercut of just scenes with Chadam and Lute in it. But once the series is done, that is.

Viziepop is an emotional driven writer, and emotional driven writers do not feel the need to made their homework of setting up or respect the worldbuilding.
Emotional writing doesn't work if it has no consistency. Why give a fuck about some shit that just happened out of nowhere or that will just be retconned away anyway?

"Vox is like Orange Man because Orange Man uses social media."

I've been through this already so I will share my posts again.
I do like how Viv did some unintentionally based things. The one who controls all media making false accusations about a political figure and tells his brainwashed followers to resist? What does that remind me of?

Helluva boss and Hazbin hotel, as a whole, are crimes against writing.

I cannot think of any example of emotional storytelling that I was ok with aside of the scene at the very end of Godzilla minus one, which as the writers stated exists solely because they felt like the protagonist deserved it, and even then it came with obscure consequences to justify its presence.
Looks like she browses the thread. Hi Vivianne! Happy birthday to you.
Hey vizipop, if you read this, can you please show to the internet a photo of your Troupe master/Nightmare king Grimm dakimakura?
I'd also love to know how the faggowl would have looked had you not stole the design from a superior piece of media...

Mimzy was the Ralphie of Hazbin Hotel. The husband who simply existed, killed innocents, did sacrifices to Satan and... that's it.
Didn't show up in hell, and neither did his children. So yay, I guess.
The thing with Mimzy was that originally, after her debut episode, she was supposed to become part of the main cast. For whatever reason, it was decided for this not to happen in the actual show. But instead of just taking her out of the show entirely (Crymini) or saving her to be used in another season (Baxter), they just shove her for part of an episode and then have her fuck off probably to never be used again.

Where did Viv get the idea that people blame Eve as if Adam wasn't right there? Do they seriously take his obvious "Uh... IT WAS THAT WOMAN YOU GAVE ME, GOD! SHE TRICKED ME!" blame-shifting as if we're supposed to believe him?

After reading the reviews that came out here's what I gathered:
-Charlie and Vaggie have been called out by a couple of them specifically as not really developing that much.
-Despite Viv saying that episodes would be longer, almost every episode seems to be the same length as last season, with the exception of the finale which is about 10 minutes longer than usual, the pacing is said to be better but still not good.
-Vox takes up the spotlight to the detriment of other characters (Interestingly it's specifically Vox, with the other Vees usually not mentioned much)
-In one review they express frustration that an unnamed character they thought would be important didn't do anything (Almost certainly Lilith/Eve who was in S1's ending)
So basically what we already knew would happen.

I enjoy Viv saying the story of Adam and Eve is sexist, while at the same time every single one of her female characters barring maybe Charlie is extremely undeveloped when compared to the male ones.

It is kinda weird that Michael hasnt popped up yet. Like kinda weird we get Mettatron in S2, but not Michael. You'd think hed pop up and ask "Wait, who killed Adam? You sure it wasnt my brother?"

Very late reply here but i think Michael is one of those bible names that is so big that someone has to tard wrangle Vivzie and not let her make THE Archangel everyone knows into an edgy twink OC who swears. And she HAS to make Michael a twink edgelord who swears because vivzie cannot write a powerful male character who isn't arrogant/smug faggot to some level. This is why every fanon art of Michal assumes he's a Lucifer clone.

Metatron is obscure enough that you can make them into your edgy OC angel and no one will mind.

btw a new helluva critique has hit the youtube, this one is by Just Stop who has done a video with 900k views on helluva being flawed before. This one is about him coming back to watch the end of season 2 and giving up the show.

It's too long and rambly personal and nothing new but it's nice to see more awareness of stolas woobiefication, octavia bashing, Stella being ruined, retcons, etc. But the interesting thing to me was that his most hated scene in the show was actually Stolas beating the shit out of Andre for how self indulgent it is.

A powerless Stolas shouldn't even be able to harm Andre but instead he goes on 17 second brutal beatdown that makes no logical sense for the sake instant gratification from the fans. Every reaction channel clapped when this happened because they don't care, they want to see their poor stolas beat the evil bird man regardless if it kills all sense of consequences because Andre is a joke.

Just Stop says this is like if Han Solo got carbonized, and Leia was allowed to punch the shit out of Darth Vader right after and they still pretended Vader was a threat in the next scene, where he fails to harm the heroes.

Stolas has killed any chance of the show having consequences. He can gaslight blitzo and say it's true love so it's blitzo's fault. He can lose his powers and still beat andre. He can be a bad father and it's not his fault because Via will bring up anti depressents so fans can bash her and she refuses to listen.

He can end with blitzo despite never having an actual reason or showing why he loves him, which he calls "The proudest writing towel throw", where vivzie simply gives up and gives the fan what they want because they want it. It's all pure self indulgence.

He calls it the The entire show is just self indulgence.

edit: am i retarded and this was posted before? Sorry i skipped some pages cause i havent touched the thread in a while, i'll take the autistic and late stickers.

The story of Adam and eve sexist? The story of how humanity came to be?...oh wait because it's always told, man was made first and women made from the leftovers....can someone with a larger knowledge of religion/mythology point me to any single story where the creator builds a female first then male? And exhaults women as being superior in the process? I see why man haters like vivzie can't stand most creation stories. It's because almost none of them put the female form on a pedestal because for thousands of years it was the men who built those civilizations to tell those stories to begin with.

Ok...
I always thought falling for the snake's temptation was less about Eve being a woman and more about the two having naive ingenuity, it never really mattered who took the fruit, but the aftermath, Adam blamed Eve, Eve blamed the snake and the punishment would have been inverted depending of who ate it first.

Really I think its retarded to believe the story of the original sin ever happened even and especially if you believe in God, its a bleak metaphor about humanity's evolution and about what made them different from animals:
Eden is not to be taken literally as it represent the animal condition: careless, happy and nude, able to thrive and survive and reproduce in nature without a care nor fear of extinction and death.
When God came back to see Adam, he was covering himself because he realized he was naked.
The snake's temptation was to tell them that, by eating the fruit of knowledge, they would have become like God, gifted with knowledge and understanding of good and evil.
(I didn't read the Bible in years, I'm gonna do it now to correct myself)
I enjoy Viv saying the story of Adam and Eve is sexist, while at the same time every single one of her female characters barring maybe Charlie is extremely undeveloped when compared to the male characters.
Reading now that part of the Genesis because I don't want to be incorrect and I still disagree on Viv's take since the punishment given by God to the couple was uneven and far more severe toward Adam.

I was correct regard the segment about the snake tempting them by saying they would have become like God and Adam seeing himself naked. My take on the possibility of roles being swapped had Adam been the first one tempted and then offering the fruit to Eve also remains.

What I did missed and I want to look at, in order to better understand and disprove Viv's take is God's punisments to the couple.

To eve, God stated the following:
"I will greatly multiply your sorrow and your conception;
In pain you shall bring forth children,
Your desire shall be for your husband,
And he shall rule over you."
;

My personal reading of this is as follow: women will be tasked to endure the suffering of childbirth, followed by raising the children and stay with the men that they choose to marry; "Your desire shall be for your husband" is actuly an order and the bleakest description of love/marriage I ever read in my entire life, while the final line "and he shall rule over you" was difficult to interpret for me at first, I think it describes how men themselves became another source of suffering for women: perhaps an origin point of them being naturally stronger and thus able to impose their will on them. It could be seen as sexist, sure, but I feel like it's more an ironic punishment for Eve imposing her desires on Adam by being the one telling him to eat the fruit, only to be then damned by making it far harder for women to impose themseslves on men or, as an alternative take, Eve being under her husband as a punishment for her act of offering the fruit to Adam. perhaps women would have kept the ability to impose their wills on their respective man, had he refused or never been offered to eat.

What God says to Adam is, at least for me, far easier to interpret and it reads as a more servere punishment than what God first said to Eve:
"Because you have heeded the voice of your wife,
and have eaten from the tree of which I commanded you, saying, ‘You shall not eat of it’:
Cursed is the ground for your sake;
In toil you shall eat of it
All the days of your life.
bring forth for you,
And you shall eat the herb of the field.
In the sweat of your face you shall eat bread
Till you return to the ground,
for out of it you were taken;
For dust you are,
And to dust you shall return.

It's basically "you shall work and suffer for the rest of existence to afford food, for you are a worthless bitch ass nigga that didn't listened to your God."
The very first line could be interpreted as sexist, but in reality it has less to do with women being inferior and more with the fact that Adam ignored the words of his maker and listened someone that knew even less than him.

My interpretation of this part of the Genesis remains that it's a bleak metaphor of the human condition, with Eden representing the carefree life that animal lives, which humanity inadvertedly discarded by pursuing knowledge and learning what's good and bad (which is perhaps a metaphor for self-awareness) and pay the "consequence" by being forced to craft and use tools and have the men work and suffer in order to bring food at home while women raises the children for a better future, its description of human of life is harsh and and negative, as if such is a punishment for hubris, for striving to be something more than mere animals and byproduct of becoming more similar to God than beast.

You could argue for this portrayal to be wrongful and that sentience and intellect are not a curse, that striving is universal, that perhaps this whole page had a more positive portrayal but was edited later to be bleak by the very religious order who adopted it, as a way to brand the act of disobeying God and mortal human life as a whole as the original sin, there could be a further explaination that God too may not be a real thing but represent something more abstract concealed within human nature, that perhaps, Sisiphus WAS truly happy the whole and then maybe explain on how the (never consumed) fruit of life and fruit of knowledge that humanity did consume represents what is needs to become a truly divine being, but regardless of anything, a simple fact stands: The Genesis was never meant to be taken in its literal sense, it contains a simplified take of what was thought to be the origin of the world, filled with dozen, if not hundreds of metaphors, alterations performed between versions and fewer errors than you may believe. The greatest of mistakes a christian or even an atheist can ever make is believe such text has to be taken in the most literal of senses, and perhaps placing it as the first book of the Holy Bible has always been a mistake, or at least it shouldn't be the first book for someome to read.

All of this just to say that Viv's point is extremely shallow and stupid and thousands of times less nuanced than the interpretation done by a random italian typing at 2 AM and barely awake. Also that even the funny book of the Bible reddit atheist love to throw shit at the most far has more depth to offer than both of her shows combined, which are even more shallow, immature and stupid as her interpretation of the Bible itself.

I spent I think 45 minutes analyzing a fucking page of the Bible to write this, please tell me that it was either worth it or that I'm some sort of goyniggertrannyfaggot that is wrong and should kill himself NOW.

Because Viv is taking this from the opinions of internet incels who also haven't read the Bible. Yeah, Eve may have sinned first, but God only came to the garden AFTER Adam sinned to confront them on what they done. Meaning that his choice of eating the fruit was the catalyst.

You also have to remember that in the Bible, God never explicitly told Eve to not eat the fruit; that was commanded before Eve was created. She knows about this because it is presumed that Adam has told her about this, and it is a great assumption that he failed in his duty of teaching his wife this law to it's full extent. When you're the leader, you take the responsibility for the choices that the people who are following you have made.

I'm not exactly sure on what would have happened if Adam never took the fruit from his wife. The Bible clearly states that both of their eyes opened after Adam ate of the fruit too. So maybe if Adam hadn't eaten the fruit and had told God what had happened, perhaps we would all still be living in the garden of Eden. I don't know, because God already knew this was destined to be hence why he planned to send Jesus down to Earth to save mankind.

But even so, the story in Hazbin Hotel differs from the one from the Bible anyway. Evil itself already existed before the fall of Lucifer, the angels were the ones to have created the Earth with no mention of God, the tree itself isn't a test for Adam and Eve, and seemingly only Eve having taken the fruit because the show and Alastor's song recap doesn't mention Adam eating the fruit as well.

Worth it.

Side note, I kind of love the fact that Viv originally made this to “Take back hell for the gays” and to be anti-christian, or a bashing on Christianity, and the effect of it for Kiwifarms, the place where we feel safe enough to say all the flavors of slurs, is not only for us to analyze the story and characters as they pertain to those things as well as if they were in a vacuum, but also to read the Bible, Tolkien, Lewis, discuss the Screwtape Letters, the Divine Comedy, Paradise Lost and who knows how much more. There’s just a sort humorous irony to it.

BTW, who on here actually has a Christian background? I’ve been curious for a while about that, and wonder if that is the main things that draws some us, perhaps subconsciously, to these shows.

Because Viv is taking this from the opinions of internet incels who also haven't read the Bible.
Firstly, Don't incells claim the Bible is the only book we need or something like that or are they just echoing right wing influences on youtube they worship?

Secondly wouldn't vivzie not give incells the time of day? Let alone coopt their opinions? Because they hate her and she hates them? (We are all together)

Unless that was meant to be an intentionally facetious statement.

Oh Vivian...half the internet worships the ground you walk on, the jacks to the queen, (some willing to cough up 50k to show it) some hate your guts and want to see them spilled like what happened to the animated version of yourself on one of your shows. Waiting for you to fold like a duce before a royal flush,

Then there's us, the wild card that sits back and watches on baited breath and a laugh or two ready upon our tounges when you make a joker out of yourself.

Kinda? I don’t remember religious ed too well because I was juggling it with first grade and Girl Scouts, and we never really went to church. But my mom and brother both find a lot of comfort in God when times get tough. It’s one of the main reasons why I’m so annoyed with edgy Reddit atheists who mock people for praying to “sky daddy”, and Viv is definitely on the same level as them.
Fun fact, my mom is Protestant and my dad was raised catholic. He’s not really religious but was shocked to find out they’re basically Romeo and Juliet.
