Angel Dust went from the wise-cracking sarcastic mafioso with a deviant side he indulges in too much to the obnoxious gay spider demon that wants to fuck everyone.
Worse than that, he's become the uwu must protecc sadboi who's so pathetic and pitiable that he blames himself for being brainwashed, and everyone else has to assure him that it's not his fault.
While Alastor is the overly edgy try-hard Tumblr sexyman, Angel is the other side of the coin who only exists to be fawned over for how weak and fragile he is.

Don't forget: this was what he was like in the pilot.

Would you guys say overall if Hazbin Hotel is worth checking out? As I said prior, I used to be a pretty big fan of all of Vivziepop's work when I was younger, but by the time HH actually started airing for real, my interest had already dipped significantly. I got pretty tired of Vivzie's writing tropes and how she was dealing with Helluva Boss so I slowly stopped watching the new stuff. I don't know much about the show other than the fact that audiences are REALLY split to the point where I have no clue where its actual quality stands. I don't mind if it's flawed, a lot of my favourite movies and shows have quite a few flaws, but if it's worth my time then I'd be more than happy to indulge.

Yes please and thank you, his "oh ashley" moments were kino and even his non VA voice is sooo much more interesting than Amirs

Edited to add, here s the link to the full compilation "oh ashley" moments
I remember laughing my ass off to these very animatics and compilations back when we only had the pilot. Good times.

Unpopular opinion I actually like the show. Mainly because it started me down a path of looking into actual Christianity to find a renewed sense of faith.

Plus I always seem to end up liking media others say is bad.

Was it ever acknowledged that there's a Satan and Lucifer? They're different names for the same top Prince of Hell, yet they seem to be entirely different characters here. There's Beezlebub but that specific one is a whole can of worms.

Never watched Helluva Boss, but all my knowledge of it came from friends complaining how shit it is.

If you're looking for what the pilot promised - comedy about fun and eccentric characters trying to find redemption - you're going to be disappointed. The comedy is mid at best, the redemption concept isn't taken with the seriousness it deserves and is barely even the focus, and as pointed out earlier pretty much all the nuance that made the characters fun in the pilot got removed as they were flanderized to hell and back.

But it does have some interesting visuals and catchy songs, so if you got Prime and some time to kill you can try it out.

Personally, I think there is a very intriguing story in there...somewhere...but Vivzie kind of buried it under all the shit she threw on the wall in the first season.

Hazbin hotel is unironically a kino hate watch, I don't know if people agree but I'm of the opinion it's reached the coveted so-bad-its-good status.

So their Broadway showing wasn't anything special. It was just like when they did this for the first season, they showed off the first two episodes and that's about it outside the standard premiere stuff with all the cast. Not to mention we've had the second episode for close to a year now but even though attendees were apparently forced to sign NDAs, this show has proven time and time again to have more leaks than the Titanic, so expect a detailed synopsis of the first episode to make its way out there soon.

Admittedly, nothing all that too surprising, and most of this is already known from the trailer, official preview clips, and the leaks.

I guess with Vaggie wanting a new name that really means she is 100% a heavenborn angel and not someone who had lived a mortal life on Earth, so I guess we can officially say goodbye to her old backstory from the Pilot era and all the potentially interesting developments and story threads we could've gotten had Vivzie tried incorporating it into the show proper.

I'm not too fond of the idea of Vox having been a cult leader, the old backstory/theory that he was a famous TV host or personality from the 1950s was honestly much more interesting. You could've worked in him basically having his fame go to his head and more or less wanting to become something akin to a cult leader (a la "cult of personality") which would've made for some interesting character study as well as social commentary. But no, once again it's seems they've tossed aside nuance for a generic bad guy origin story.

I'll give Viv a bit of props if Vaggie actually undergoes a name change, but I know her big arc this season will be accepting her name in the end.

I think it would be hilarious if its either another vagina name (because she would quadruple down) or give her a name after male genitals (go down to straight hell)

Vaggie is already too established a character to changer her name, methinks. Too much merchandising with her already recognized name for Vivzie to change. So yeah, by the end of the season she'll be keeping her name.

Or, if the rumors of Lute killing her are true, she'll tell Charlie her new name she wants to be remembered by right before she dies in the big season finale emotional moment.

If you watch it without any kind of expectation and you re able to stand horrible jokes and some insufferable interactions between characters, yes. The visuals are catchy, it has a couple of moments that are quite entertaining, and if you need to spend some time "brain off", then go for it. There is far worse out there, at the end of the day.

Charlie: "Why are people only coming to the Hotel to want to kill angels? It's not like all these people saw us killing a bunch of exorcists and that's really only the publicity are hotel has gotten to public since the pilot which may or may not be canon. Oh wait..."

Also, Baxter really should have been used for season 1 because him coming to the hotel to study if Charlie's redemption plan actually works, only to immediately have an angel show up and just say "hey it does; we have one of you Sinners up there right now" really undermines his characters and kind of makes him worthless now in the story.

We know his appearance is only an excuse to sell more gay twink merch for the fangirls out there.

I know this show's theology is retarded ... schizophrenic ... questionable, but if she's actually an angel that's never been a human the show is accidentally being actually theologically correct to orthodox Christianity. The whole dead people become angels is a folk belief, but the angels in the Bible (Michael, Raphael, and Gabriel) there is no indication that they were ever anything other than angels.

Also, regarding the possible leak, in the Bible, multiple people change their names, usually because God gives them a new one, though occasionally for other reasons, but in the Jewish culture of their time, this was incredibly significant, in a sense, you were declaring some change to your fundamental nature. Abram is changed to Abraham by God, due to his role as the patriarch of the Jewish people. In her grief after losing her family Naomi briefly goes by Mara (the name means bitter, but interestingly, the narrative ignores this, presumably because after the events of the Book of Ruth, she probably went back to Naomi), Jesus changes Simon's name to Peter to commend Peter's faith.

It's incredibly significant concept, even in the Book of Revelation, we hear,
"To him who overcomes, to him [Jesus] will give some of the hidden manna, and [Jesus] will give him a white stone, and a new name written on the stone which no one knows but he who receives it.’" Revelation 2:17

So for an angel like Vaggie to take another name, presumably could be an incredibly powerful character moment for a character rejecting the name that came from God directly. Of course, since Hazbin doesn't actually deal with God, apparently Adam just named her after the word Vagina which is fucking retarded, especially since she never bothered to change it.

YHWH - I Am Who I Am
Jesus - YHWH is Salvation
Abraham - Father of Many
Elijah - My God is YHWH
Gabriel - God is my Strength
Raphael - God has Healed
Michael - Who is like God?
Abbadon - Ruin/Destruction
Satan - The Adversary
