So the second part of the merch run for Halloween got released on Sharkrobot. The majority of it has to do with the slasher stuff, but there is some other things like a few pins that reference the portraits from Disney's haunted house ride, and plushies of Moxxie and Millie dressed up as cats.

What got my attention were the pins as I'm trying to figure out if these pins are of better quality than the previous merch runs. I'm on mobile so I can only zoom in so far, so maybe a kiwi on the computer can give me some insight.

Here's a pin from last merch's run (pirates):

And here's a pin from this merch's run:

My question is the pin pictured here an actual pin example, or just drawn design of the pin.

Definitely the drawn design and not a picture. It is way, way too sharp and doesn't have any of the layering issues enamel pins tend to get (look at the eyebrows on the Bee pin, for example).

Edit: Actually the store page just straight up says it.

Also fuck the Sharkrobot website is a pain in the ass to navigate.

So the pins are probably just going to be as shit as quality as the past ones. Lovely.

From looking more in the description, the pins are probably not even made yet since it says to give 3-4 months for production after the pre-order. They're probably trying to see how many pins will be ordered before making them so they won't have any extras.

While we're still on the topic of animation, I'm wondering just how much the animation quality will improve in S2, since I'll admit what we've seen of it looks significantly better than what we've seen from S1 (Even S1's trailers were full of animation errors, such as Vaggie infamously vanishing into thin air.), given A24 and Amazon didn't greenlight the show for additional seasons until around when S1 came out, I'll assume there wasn't much confidence in the show and that meant there might not have been much left in the budget when it came time to animate it.

If this is true, this won't be surprising because the show is clearly done with Vaggie as she has no further character growth. Sad.
Vivziepop and company clearly never gave any thought to Vaggie's character beyond "Charlie's girlfriend." Which is another sign of how far the quality of the writing fell from between the pilot and the show proper.

We have the the song Gravity to look at for an example and it's adhd shotting and Lute's wings constantly just not working how wings should be. I imagine it's going to be a mix bag like last season.

Also I noticed Lute has one extra feather on one wing and now I can't unsee it.

Apparently Amazon either fucked up or was really lazy while preparing for S2's release, normally the icons, descriptions, sometimes names are given placeholders or just left out entirely until properly released for obvious reasons. Well it looks like they didn't bother that so we now have all those things for every season 2 episode.

EP 6. "Vox leads the overlords toward war with Heaven. Tensions run high at the hotel and Husk returns to his old ways."

Considering that we know Husk used to be an Overlord himself, this has...rather interesting implications.

Taking a glance at this, and all things considered it looks to be better structured than Season 1, not like that was a high bar to pass. Quick thoughts/predictions:
- Episode 3 is gonna have Cherri pretend she doesn't care that Pentious is alive, sings about how her feelings for him, then proceeds to do nothing for the remainder of the season.
- Lilith is gonna be discussed, but she herself isn't gonna be directly involved with the season. Could hint at other angels/Roo.
- Carmilla is gonna be useless. Either she doesn't help the hotel because she doesn't want her daughters :'( to go at war, or is forced to help Vox because he did something to her daughters :,( .
- Valentino dies, freeing Angel Dust out of his contract setting S3 to revolve around his mafia family.

- CHADam comes back as a Sinner, kills all the gay demons, saving the day, and reunites with Lute in Heaven... okay, that one's wishful thinking, even though that would be lit.

Probably since they're focusing on one main plot line for the season. Also it seems like a shorter amount of time will pass for season 2, unlike in season 1 where they had to speed-run through 6 months so they could do their big Heaven vs hell battle.

Looks like someone at Amazon is getting fired for posting that shit early.

I swear, I haven't seen a show this bad with leaks since MLP.

Do her little crotch goblins even have names, or are they just Generic Sympathy Points Generators #1 and #2? Are they even her actual birth kids? She strikes me as gay, so did she adopt them or something after dying?

Just looked it up, the black looking one is Clara and the one with glasses is Odette, both named after characters from Swan Lake. I haven’t actually watched any of the show yet, but it doesn’t seem like they have too much personality.

Seeing the pictures, clips from Gravity and just stewing on it for a bit, the fact that the man who brought sin into the world is just a dumb douchebag and killed off in S1 is almost shocking in how stupid and wasteful it is. Like, I get that the show has an aversion to dealing with any concepts in any way other than sophomoric cursing, but Adam is a character who could be incredibly fascinating, especially since the whole show is ostensibly about redemption of the sinful. How easy would it be to find pathos in the figure of humanity's fallen father if anyone involved gave a shit?

Like, in Paradise Lost, when Adam falls to sin and is in abject despair, he has this line (which was also quoted in Mary Shelley's Frankenstein):

"Did I request thee, Maker, from my clay
To mould me man? Did I solicit thee
From darkness to promote me?"

In the poem, Eve contemplates suicide, and Adam doesn't seem like he's doing a hell of a lot better. In the poem, he falls, thinking he is sacrificing his immortality to be mortal with his wife, but the narrative shows that his sin drags down his noble ambitions, and he despises Eve in the moment. Hell, just listen to his beautiful soliloquy before his fall.

“How can I live without thee, how forego
Thy sweet converse, and love so dearly joined,
To live again in these wild woods forlorn?
Should God create another Eve, and I
Another rib afford, yet loss of thee
Would never from my heart; no, no, I feel
The link of nature draw me: flesh of flesh,
Bone of my bone thou art, and from thy state
Mine never shall be parted, bliss or woe.

However, I with thee have fixed my lot,
Certain to undergo like doom; if death
Consort with thee, death is to me as life;
So forcible within my heart I feel
The bond of nature draw me to my own,
My own in thee, for what thou art is mine;
Our state cannot be severed, we are one,
One flesh; to lose thee were to lose myself.”

It can obviously be dense as fuck but Paradise Lost is a great exploration of the story of Adam & Eve and The Fall. After everything has fallen out, God sends the Archangel Michael to comfort Adam (Eve basically gets put to sleep and dreams a vision of Christ) showing him everything that his decision will cause, and visions of the future. Finally, Adam is able to leave Eden and in a contrast to Satan who cannot repent or find joy in Eden because he carries Hell within himself, Adam has a measure of hope, because some part of Eden still dwells in him.

Banished from the Garden - Copy.jpg

"Some natural tears they dropped, but wiped them soon;
The world was all before them, where to choose
Their place of rest, and Providence their guide;
They, hand in hand, with wandering steps and slow,
Through Eden took their solitary way.”

A fun fact from the Divine Comedy that you could easily work into a comedy, is that when Dante talks to Adam in Heaven, one of his questions is how long did Adam & Eve live in the Garden of Eden, and do you want to know how long Adam & Eve lived in what could have been unending joy, without pain, disease, death, or evil?
6 hours.

I realize this is a lot of sperging, but there's something so baffling to me about taking something with a rich history and source material, and stripping it of all the beauty and splendor, just to be the most banal kind of edgy.

I made this point ages ago in the thread, but Adam has pre-built character relationships with Lucifer, Lilith, Eve, and Vaggie (all of whom are major players in the cast or likely will be). It's just so bizarre to me that you'd just choose to not explore those relationships that are pre-packaged for a character. He's central or significant to all of their backstories. You could explore them for pathos or just mine them for comedy. Complete waste to kill him off before you can even explore it. Especially for something that was clearly just done for shock value.

On the one hand I find myself thinking "how absolutely based would be to place somewhere in the storyline an episode with Dante and Virgilio throughout the plot line of HH", on the other hand I know it would only aggravate a storyline already way too cramped with useless characters that have no tangible function in the story dynamics and I know for a fact their character design would be so bland it would infuriate me.

Alastroon dies? LoL, LMAO if so. But at this point, would be better if Faint Pisser or Shatbed died too. Adam doesn't deserve too faggots shitting on his legacy.

I want to break free believe.

I honestly should read Paradise Lost & Paradise Regained - as well as that other fiction which stars Christian and then the other book with his wife and children who stay behind, but later go on the same quest; Christina:
The book about a man named Christian and his wife, Christiana, is John Bunyan's allegorical work,
The Pilgrim's Progress.

The book is presented in two parts:

  • Part 1: Follows the journey of the main character, Christian, as he travels from the "City of Destruction" to the "Celestial City." His wife and children initially reject his decision to leave.
  • Part 2: Focuses on the pilgrimage of Christiana, who repents of her earlier refusal and embarks on the same journey with her four sons and a friend named Mercy.
Written in 1678 while Bunyan was in prison for his faith, The Pilgrim's Progress is considered one of the most significant works of Protestant literature
