So I watched the episode and...wow that was shit.

Like, I knew it was going to be already but I thought it was going to be more shit like in frustrating, not....boring. I know it's supposed to be like the first episode that explains what the show about but that doesn't mean the majority of the dialogue has to be exposition. It just felt like nothing happen. Everything about it was just a downgrade from the original pilot, except I guess the animation but I kind of like the rougher style in the pilot and first season anyway in the first place so.

Also, Blitzø showed the grimoire to them in the flashback in the Ghostfuckers episode on how they were going to Earth when they first bought the office in Pride so....I don't know why that was asked by Millie like she didn't know. Also, all the sexual and romance stuff between Moxxie and Millie felt so...forced in your face. It's like I get it. They love each other. The original pilot was able to show that with more subtly without having them breakout into a sloppy make-out loving session.View attachment 7893733
I guess that's the one word I would describe this episode being; forced.
From the clip you posted, the dialogue from Moxxie and Loona felt like the actors didn't even try to sound like they don't get along (compared to the pilot or past episodes). Loona has a snarky retort, that the target audience would call homophobic, to Moxxie's question and that's it. Maybe they reached the phoning it in point with these roles.

It's hard to put into words, but Helluva Boss nowadays feel...corporate? I don't know if that's the right word, but the Helluva Boss pilot was very reminiscent of YouTube cartoons and Newsground animations; a bunch of creative people on the internet coming together to make something because they want to. Not for mass profit or mass praise; just a passion project for fun. But now, it feels like the majority of the people working on Helluva Boss aren't doing it because they actually want to, but because they have to. It's a job. It feels now like almost any other show you'll find on TV. Not saying that all shows on TV are not creative or don't have passion to them. But...you know what I mean.

Something I find funny, a character like Emberlynn acts like this, it’s considered by the fandom as cringe and delusional. Stolas acts like this, and wow don’t you just want them to be together forever?
I don’t like Emberlynn or Stolas, they’re both cringe and delusional sex pests.

You know what funny if they had Hitler in this they could've had all kinds of funny jokes about him having to do all kinds chores for lucifer and even have him rented out to the other sins.

I mentioned this a few pages ago but I love the line in original pilot where Millie calls Loona a bitch with uncharacteristic venom. She really gives that insult her all.

I guess Viv is that desperate to make people forget she once made a sausage party oc that was a supporter of nazi sauerkraut.....yes I wish I wish I was kidding about either of those things.

Was this entire episode redone, just to make Blitzo more of an asshole, like he’s the problem in this situation and not the guy coming to the office for sex uninvited? Like, you have limited episodes, and you waste one on this?

What did Viv mean by this?
Remember the golden rule of fujo-writing: If is a man there's no harm, if is a girl there's no thrill.

Sometimes I feel bad about what happened to Ashley and than she posts stuff like this, which is a nice reminder you shouldn’t feel bad for anything that happens to her ever

Yes Ashley that's how things normally work, as an artist people like you for the stuff you make not for your character. "Or just because I have a femme voice and boobs" totally not narcissistic, amazing how they always end telling up on themselves with stuff like this.

Yeah, but we’re on KF, go on DA, X, or Tumblr, or fuck Bluesky other wise known as BS and the like, you find people bending over backwards for characters like stolas and whatever uwu boy of the day just need lurv while the girl or Adam for being straight, totally deserves a knife to the chest/back.

Ah, I see. Thank you for opening my eyes. Dear lord, writing is only going to get worse, isn’t it?

Well considering both characters are bisexual, maybe it's like n-word privileges? The structure of the jokes in this one do seem forced with an overreliance on cringe comedy popularized by normie sitcoms. This is really how you spent your Amazon money Viv? Nearly everyone loves your pilots. Stop fucking with the pilots for the sake of onboarding Prime Video newfags. I need a fucking drink.

Thank you for showing us the sex scene with Blitz and Stolas for almost entire minute. Only redeeming quality of it was gag about how Loona supposed to eat the phone (which she did in the pilot) - that, admittedly, did made me chuckle

It just feels like they're redoing all the jokes from the pilot, but redid them in them in a way that's unfunny, or made it run on for far too long.

Like Blitzø telling Moxxie he would kill himself. It's very similar to when Blitzø called Moxxie retarded; just none of the cheekiness or snarkiness like the original.

The jokes don't land because it's clearly meant to be used as a replacer, not an enhancer. It's to the point, it's straightforward. He doesn't add anything else to calling Moxxie the r-word.

Just a single word and it lands. But here in this pilot, he over-exaggerates about killing himself, almost to a cartoony degree. It's the same energy of Vox being vague to Sir Pentious when he told him to kill himself. I know we all already know this for the thousandth time but it's baffling how safe edgy this show is, how it refuses to DO more with the fact these are IMPS IN HELL THAT SHOULD NOT FEEL ASHAMED ABOUT SCREAMING SLURS, and this pilot shows it.

Though, it'll be as abused and poorly placed as the swears so I'm not exactly holding my breath.

There's this little special thing called "separating the art from the artist".
It's not even just that, it's the fact that people are more than the political party tickbox bullshit thought chain. SO MANY people that are even mildly critical of shit get fucking shoved aside and labelled "alt right" or "far right" or "trump supporters" that when posts like this happen the metaphorical budding schizophrenia demon in my head begins wailing "IT IS HAPPENING AGAIN. IT IS HAPPENING. AGAIN.".

This reveals them as turning into a petty fucker that just wants to hurt people and make money with no consequences if they weren't already like that.

the fact it's the progstack term of "femme" instead of "feminine" or "girly" or whatever other term someone would use is an intense red flag on top of everything else.

This is why I never understood why fans praised their romance. It's very forced because it's very unbelievable. Moxxie is clearly gay and Millie seems very disinterested in sex. So to convince us that M&M are an amazing couple, Viv writes them the only way she knows how: Kissing, fucking, and singing to each other to convey a romance. High School shit that normal couples don't need to do.

I'll admit, I can't write a romance either but I know it's more than just making a show of it.

I also wanted to point out - imo, I don't like the new, over exuberant nature of Helluva Boss. Yeah, it's fine when in moderation, but the "vibes" of Episode Zero and pilot were so different.

Especially Blitz. Please, someone tell Brandon that if you try pushing the character outburst too much it looses the whole point of unpredictability and randomness of an "outburst", and just makes it annoying

The thing is the relationship didn't feel force at the beginning of the show. The pilot made them feel like an actual couple that bantered with each other. It's just the longer the show went on, the more the romance between the two was shoved in our faces. Especially with all the gratuitous sex between them. It's like that's the only way the show can get the audience to know that "Hey, these two people love each other. Look how much they're kissing". Because sex = love. The show tells us how much they are in love with each other, but it never stops for a moment to tell us why. Why does Moxxie love Millie? Why does Millie love Moxxie? I can't give an answer to those questions.

It also doesn't help that Millie is still a very underdeveloped character, so she can't be her own person. Everything about her seems attached to Moxxie. And the show is trying to expand on her now, but it's just little too late.
