Eh, least with TADC, it was kinda given that was gonna be a theme from the start. While I did like the latest ep, def feel the strongest stuff was with Pomni and Jax, with the others felt like retreading old ground that was covered in previous two episodes.

I wish Seeing Stars was a Loona and Octavia episode instead of another Stolas and Blitzø episode. Seeing the girls bond with each other and get to know better on how they feel in their current situation would have been very beneficial, and also make that whole emotional scene on the star deck be more impactful.

It also doesn't help that Loona is so wildly out of character in Seeing Stars. She has never been physically violence with Blitzø before; at most she is annoyed by him. So the fact that she gets so aggressive because Blitzø gives her a mild critique on her job just makes her come off as unhinged and unlikable. It should have been like the argument back in Spring Broken. I know this was Adam's first episode but did like no one explain to him how to write these characters? Did he not watch Season 1 at all?

Honestly it wasn't a great episode in terms of her being in character in general, between that and her kicking Blitzø in the nuts once they're reunited at the end. The only positive was learning Loona's backstory in the hellhound pound. Nice job waiting a whole couple of years until season 2 for that reveal, writers.

If vivzie wasn't loaded and born with a silver spoon in her mouth and spindlehorse wasn't backed by Amazon, a company run by one of the richest men on earth. I might give them some leeway in regards to taking two years to get to that.

But when you got that kinda backing there's no excuse aside lazy writing.
 
Apparently Vivzie has a cameo in the latest promo. They slimmed her down a bit in this artstyle, methinks.

I'd say the therapy scenes aren't really a problem in a vaccum. It's more how often it happens that tends to bug me. There are other ways for characters to express their feelings other than saying "I AM SAD."

I hate this scene for a number of reasons:

1. Why is Blitzo having a psychotic break? He's never been shown to suffer from psychosis before or after this scene. The closest thing is "Truth Seekers", but even then it's not the same
2. Everything we've seen of Blitzo and Loona's relationship paints the day he adopted her as one of the happiest days of his life. Why does he have PTSD? Did seeing Loona cry traumatize him that much?
3. Why are they even there? Blitz smashed a hole in the window of the van. Just jump out when it starts moving, or when it's stopped at some lights or something. Yes, there are security guards, but you have a gun. Fucking shoot them. Blitz has never worried about collateral damage before.
4. Even if Blitz didn't want to shoot his way out, I can't see Stolas not trying to sneak away instead of dicking around with Blitz. Because Octavia is missing.

You're right. We got Loona's backstory, and that's great, but the writers had to really twist and bend the characters to make them fit the scene, even by this show's standards.

Now that you mention it, it makes zero sense for Blitzø to have a PTSD induced flashback regarding Loona and not, oh I don't know, being involved in starting a fire causing both the death of his mother and the disfigurement of his friend who crawled towards him begging for help four episodes later?! I swear to God the writers are literal smooth brained retards.

Just another example of a female character's backstory being told through the man. The show doesn't care about what Loona's life in essentially a dog was like for who knows how long and how she feels about that. It only cares how Blitzø FEELS about it. Just like when we learned about Millie's backstory on how she met Blitzø. It wasn't for the audience to learn more about Millie; it was to show the audience that Blitzø is a good friend and helped Millie.

And yes graywolf888, it would make more sense for Blitzø to have PTSD over fire. But it doesn't as Blitzø has been fine with starting both Earth fire and Hell fire. Like wouldn't the Loo Loo Land episode make more sense of him having a panic attack when he sees a robot version of his best friend burning in front of him? Oh wait, this was still before the show was trying to be a dramatic soap opera and just wanted to be edgy funny demons being assassins.

I'm thinking more about the recent short and really it feels like it has the type of drama that the show could be doing instead of what it actually does.

Like the excuse of how the hits won't be interesting feels shit because it shows that you could make things interesting by having us know the targets more as people. It feels like the only people IMP killed that the audience really got to know as people were The Old Rich Guy, Emberlynn, Mr. Rogers, and the Mafioso's son. Compared to most of IMP's targets who are a monster of the week or a throwaway joke. Hell the latest one can show potential with how their jobs can affect them in their personal lives with how humans are.

The gay couple Blitzo hesitated to kill feels worse because this would've been more impactful if it is a full episode where Blitzo is stalking them and then learning all about them as the choice makes more of an impact compared to just seeing gay people. I mean there's also the matter of it sticking.

Speaking of which, the short feels like it does a better job at exploring Moxxie's daddy issues than the ones that actually have his dad in them, by showing Moxxie an actually caring mafia dad. There's also the matter of Crimson actually being intimidating, and the only way I can see him working as pathetic as he is in the main series is if he's built up as this intimidating guy only to come across as pathetic. Similarly like how Eddy's brother was built up as a cool guy in Ed, Edd, and Eddy only to be a abusive piece of shit

So, this is something a buddy of mine brought up when talking about the latest short. Why is Millie in the IMP or why was she an assassin in the first place? Moxxie is because he wanted to escape his mobster life style, Loona because she was an abandoned child. But...why Millie? We see her parents are very loving and supportive of her, so it isnt family angle like Moxxie, she isnt an orphan like Loona. I thought maybe Sally May was this bad ass assassin herself, an Millie wanted to be like her or felt like she was in her shadow....but that also isnt a deal.
