Why put as pirates? Is there even a pirate episode or short? isn't even necessary this?Don't mean to double post but I just wanted to mention we got a new merch run for Helluva Boss with the characters being pirates. Most of it seems to be of better quality than the last couple of runs

Look at this shit. The colors are so dull, colors are bleeding into other spots, and there's little white specks along the black line art. They must have changed their pin supplier company.
One thing I think that helluva boss is missing is competent re accruing foes. Like after the cherub guys why not a group of guardian angels that get in the way sometimes of imp and are actually dangerous opponents for them. And for fun imp learns that they are kind of similar in some regards.
A rogue's galaxy to Blitzø they are not. I view it as either an issue of characters written in service of an episode's plot being taken out of their element. Crimson was the most egregious example for me when he and Stryker snatch up Blitzø and Fizz in Oops.I agree but i don't trust vivzie because she tried and the moment her villains reappear in season 2 they turn into a pathetic jokes.
Doctor Evil from Austin Powers is more evil than Stella, and Dr. Evil is a parody of the stereotype of evil villainsStella isn't even an IMP villain and you know what happened to her...
Dr. Evil was a parody of Euro trash Bond villains, but your point stands.Doctor Evil from Austin Powers is more evil than Stella, and Dr. Evil is a parody of the stereotype of evil villains
Stella is awesome and hot and you could vastly improve this series by making her the heroine of it.Doctor Evil from Austin Powers is more evil than Stella, and Dr. Evil is a parody of the stereotype of evil villains
my man, that post was more made by @graywolf88 than a normal person.Stella is awesome and hot and you could vastly improve this series by making her the heroine of it.
Ironic, considering I'm neither of the two Stella stans who regularly post here.my man, that post was more made by @graywolf88 than a normal person.
I get a sense I'm being called out here lmaoIronic, considering I'm neither of the two Stella stans who regularly post here.
Nah, I was referring to @Friendly Primarina. My favorite character is Loona as you might have guessed.I get a sense I'm being called out here lmao
He's a gay, posh owl with a British accent. Checks nearly all the boxes for Tumblr sexy man characters. I remember finding his initial appearance kind of creepy as opposed to cute. The backwards plantigrade bird legs don't do it for me. As for whether an ugly character can be sympathetic, Quasimodo from The Hunchback of Notre Dame is one such example. It's generally held around here that Stolas coasts a long way on his cute appearance when it comes to audience reaction.
> post a couple of cute pics
> you are now a stan
I guess this is my life now

Actually I was thinking recently. It's generally held around here that Stolas coasts a long way on his cute appearance when it comes to audience reaction. While I agree I wonder if all the Stella sympathy in this thread - not just from me - is owed at least in part to her demure appearance. Would we sympathize as much with an ugly character?
I think a lot of unattractive characters in these shows get sympathy, but then again the fan base do find these characters to be cute and attractive becaue...reasons. Anyway, it's pretty easy to see why Stolas would get more sympathy than Stella and that is completely due to presentation and framing. Stolas gets a lot of emotional scenes with him being sad, while Stella doesn't. Which to be fair, it's a thing that is done in most media. Give a character a moment that is presented as sad and you'll have the audience not help but feel at least a little bad for them. If Stella was given one little scene of her crying to herself, you would bet there would be more people that would sympathize with her. He's a gay, posh owl with a British accent. While we're on the subject of cross media references, Bojack's mother Beatrice from Bojack Horseman, arguably the greatest animated show on Netflix, is further explored than just being a stereotypical abusive mother by delving intoThe point being is it's more than possible to add sympathetic elements to an otherwise unlikable character depending on how it's presented.her traumatic backstory surrounding the lobotomization of her mother and the burning of her favorite doll after an outbreak of scarlet fever.

I feel like Ralphie & his kids would become a pathetic joke and would be run over by a car or something, while seeking vengeance.Even the cannibal murder family, that had potential to seek vengeance in hell (HOW DID NO ONE TRY THIS?), devolved into the mom being lesbian cameo to pander shippers.
Don't you know? (((Subversion))) is a thing! And it's super cool, man! We get wonderful takes like these:This is just the whole show at this point View attachment 7800848
There's a difference between "cute ugly" like the Disney Quasimodo and "real ugly" like the Elephant Man or Rocky Dennis in Mask. Almost all Vivz characters, even the ugly ones, are cute ugly. And despite being portrayed as an utter monster, Stella is probably the cutest character in the show. He's a gay, posh owl with a British accent. Well if they actually became a threat, that would get in the way of the romance.I agree but i don't trust vivzie because she tried and the moment her villains reappear in season 2 they turn into a pathetic jokes.
Dhorks were silly but managed to capture blitzo and moxie in their intro and showcase the risks of going to earth but now they're hard R retarded joke characters.
Cherubs were "professional rivals" with opposite ideology but now they're just some assholes (and collin) who hate IMP and try to need plot buffs to fight. As if vivzie had no idea what to do with them.
Stryker was a scary threat who was presented as an evil mirror of blitzo, an imp hitman with principles who targets nobles. Except he is actually a pathetic sellout hypocrite who has a statue of himself with a big dick.
Verosika, if she counts, was another mirror for blitzo, a shitty and petty person who's also protective of her crew and with potential to become better, and an ex-lover turned "rival", but there is still an implication that their love was real for a bit. It appeared they were just as bad as the other and it's unclear why they broke up. Oh wait, verosika is actually not a slut but a pure maiden who loved blitzo and he broke her heart (was vivzie listening to headcanons again?) because that's blitzo's thing, he Blitzo fucked everyone in hell. Now verosika is the world most bitter hypocrite who throws parties to spite blitzo while telling him to forget stolas.
Crimson is season 2 but was ruined already. He was set up as a monstruous abusive father and mob boss, then his next episode has nothing to do with moxie cause vivzie made him a shitty villain of the week who does dumb bullshit for money, doesn't fight and needs striker to pose a real threat as his goons are jobbers.
Even the cannibal murder family, that had potential to seek vengeance in hell (HOW DID NO ONE TRY THIS?), devolved into the mom being lesbian cameo to pander shippers.
Stella isn't even an IMP villain and you know what happened to her...
It's like rwby again. The villains are good when they have "potential" aka before vivzie ruins them.
It's really odd that Vivzie claims her story has nuance, yet the second a character disagrees with or opposes the heroes, they're unquestionably evil. Now why do some people sympathize with Stella even though she is portrayed as a one-dimensional villain in the show? Yeah, I know for some people it's just because they find her hot. But it also has to do with her introduction. She's a wife that got cheated on. Most people are automatically going to be on her side because it's something that a lot of people can relate to. Doesn't matter how terrible she s portrayed after that. The initial impression of her has already left an impact on them. There's also the fact that the show has unintentionally guve her sympathetic qualities due to it's terrible world-building and storytelling choices. If you think on it for more than five seconds, you realize that Stella was forced into a marriage with a man that could possibly never love her cause he's gay and she get's basically nothing out of it. She gets no ranking or power from it. She's essentially an incubator for a child we have no idea if she even wanted. And if Stolas divorced her, he would still keep his title, power, and child most likely.
