You know for all the shit Stolitz gets for being what it is, which is not worth going into it basically a dead horse with several video essays ripping it apart, Loona is a character who, retrospectively, I grew to hate even more due to how and why she was, at least I presume this is the reason, implemented. It was very fucking clear from the get go that this character to me was Vivienne Medrano’s author insert fursona embodying her personality, her personal issues (I almost wrote flaws), and her oversexualized design that symbolizes what Medrano wishes she was.
Why is she a nihilistic bitch? Because that’s Medrano’s core philosophy. Why is she in this show? Because Medrano wants to tag along with her dolls—I mean characters for comedy filled adventures. Why does she flirt with the black guy and get rejected? Because that’s Medrano’s life story tee hee. Why does episode 8 fucking exist? Because that’s how Medrano views herself at parties? Why does that scene with Octavia happen? Because she wants to have a conversation with her own character about the shit she’s going through. Why is she in a pound? Because it symbolizes her “abandonment” she feels with her father.
