I really fucking hate Angel's 'Oh woe is me' attitude, even after Husk's song, and I fucking hate how both the show and the fandom babies him and how he should be coddled. Dude was a fucking Italian mobster during the 30s-40s.

I want someone really calling out his shit, imagine if it was revealed that in life he was a member of Murder Incorporated or at least a fictionialized group directly based off it. You would have a character who in life killed dozens of folks (sometimes torturing them if the poor bastard pissed off the family that ordered the hit) for no other reason than a payday, and in Hell has been reduced to a sexual plaything by one of the more powerful Sinners. Maybe this Angel from the start of the series realizes just how fucked up he was in life, or maybe he has the 'Woe is me' attitude until someone calls him out and tells him he was a total bastard in life. Not to mention his backstory could serve as a dark take on I.M.P. which would be interesting if pulled off competently.

But no, knowing how much of a lack of a spine Viv has to actually challenge the audience with having empathy for people who done terrible things for inexcusable reasons, Angel will almost certainly be distanced from all the Mob's more extreme activities and mainly ended up in Hell because he was a drug addict.

We already had Limus criticize it, but she was revealed to have been in a server talking weirdly around minors. Also, whenever the characters get or is about to get comeuppence the character is immediately labeled as a unreasonable abuser, sounds like a similar story to another Lolcow that crossed over with Viv...

Season 2 is allegedly making Pentius "hell earning sin" to be not reporting a murder out of fear which is extremely easy to forgive and shifts the topic to him being a victim.

If Angel's backstory is ever explained vivzie will 100% reveal he never killed anyone, only joined the mafia because they saved him from a rapist (bonus if his Mob were "honorable good guys", double bonus if they're overdesigned OCs to sell merch) and Angel only did drugs cause he was suicidally depressed.

He was also a insult character of someone Viv allowed the fanbase to bully hence why I never listed any true things that stood out to me as a potential lolcow. Other then hes a britfag.

There's an argument to be made that Sir Pentious' sin is a sin of sloth; he chose not to do the morally correct thing when he could've in spite of the consequences. That's what sloth is; a spiritual apathy for one's duties and responsibilities. Then you consider that all sins are equal in the eyes of God (except Blasphemy, which is unforgivable because it's a rejection of God,) so even if that was the ONLY thing Sir Pentious ever did, if he wasn't forgiven he ends up in Hell.
Except Vivziepop doesn't know or care about Christian theology, so whatever. Though it'd be kind of cool to see a courtroom style show where sinners have to prove their sin is forgivable to not be sent to Hell forever. Charlie is the overworked lawyer who started this whole process, Adam is the judge and Lute is his baliff who is more than ready to punish the sinners....
While I'm rewriting Hazbin Hotel for no reason, I had another thought; I don't like that sinners are stuck in one ring. The whole point of the seven deadly sins and the rings of hell is that sinners go to certain rings based on their sin! If they did that in the show, it'd be a great way to see what a character's general sin was before learning the specifics. If Sir Pentious' sin is sloth because he failed to do the right thing, he could end up in the sloth ring and have a candle head like the demons there. And if he's this Victorian inventor with a candle head, why not make him a steampunk street lamp inspired guy? It'd be so cool!
And while we're talking about how the sinners' appearances change, what if the newcomers/lowest level sinners still look mostly humanoid, but the more powerful and ancient they become, the less human they get? There's already some of that power scaling with the whole normal form vs demon form, but just...what if it was consistent! What if it was cooler!! and what if the winners in Heaven didn't have any of that shit going on and just looked like normal people, because they aren't warped/dehumanized by their sin!
 
I wonder what Panty and Stocking, another demon and angel show with lots of sex and cursing, is doing more correctly than Hazbin Hotel? Seriously, I'm seeing more TikTokers criticize Hazbin Hotel.

After that, I hope her audience does a 180 and calls that out. Viv clearly has very little respect for the time periods, professions, and circumstances of her characters.

You aren't supposed to take the characters and the situations they get into seriously, it's part of the joke. Panty is a slut but they don't try to make you feel bad for her. They show up, we get introduced to the ghost of the episode, they kill the ghost and throw in the sex jokes, episode over.

Hazbin wants you to feel bad for people like Angel Dust who's a porn star because he's a victim uwu. It also wants you to take it seriously as this 2deep4u show with an overarching storyline, but with excessive cursing, too many sex jokes, and way too much characters. Most of them aren't even important to the story.

Edit: That said, I much prefer Pilot Angel to Series Angel.

They managed to make me laugh with a "whole lotta weed stores" joke in the second episode of the newest season and that is GOLD for PASWG. Right on brand.

For Hazbin, though? It would come across as a cheap joke. Just a throwaway line that means nothing.
At least PAS can follow through with something like "Chekov's Weed Shop." They all get high at the end because the shop burnt down.

I may sound like an AY-LAWG, it seems like in the parody of "American culture", the japs made a joke of the angels and demons. So Panty and Stocking deserve a beating, from the Biblical perspective.

lol, that's amusing. I guess the main difference is how the approach/punchline goes: in P&SWG, it's a joke and things don't matter, while Hazbin/Helluva has that "social commentary" we are already annoyed about.

Vivienne just cannot take criticism is the only real takeaway here. She left Twitter for the Bluesky hugbox because she couldn't stand anyone talking bad about her methods and now, even on Bluesky, she's constantly having meltdowns. Hardly a mystery why her fans react like you've attacked a loved one when you say something bad about Hazbin or Helluva
