In episode 1 alone there's lip service to suggest some kinda torture is going on. (Burning in my soul sung as a song lyric while a guy is stuck in a burning building, then a lyric about sticking barb wire in places not pleasesnt) the next it's got two sinners (possibly furries in life given that's what they became in hell) doing it in a house full of sex toys. And others drooling over porn playing shamlessly in a shop window the way tvs used to play in electronic store windows.

Is it torment for a year, then the exterminators come to clean house for anyone not powerful or influential enough to afford protection when they do? Or is it all kinds of debauchery and decadence EXCEPT for the one day a year the exterminators drop in?


Make up your damn mind maduro. Either it's Dantes version of the inferno or south park's, but it can't be both.

It's pretty much a lawless chaos scape where the Exterminators come in once a year with the intended goal of somehow quelling a Demonic uprising.

The elements from Dante's version is just having different rings/circles but like Vivzie only kept 7 for simplicity’s sake and there's no real resemblance to them beyond each ring dedicated for a sin

True she didn't even stay true to each ring punishing people based on said sin. Everyone's just chucked into the ring of pride but there's no shores of archeon with charron, or limbo for so called "virtuous pagans" (aka people dante actually liked, but they died before Jesus did so they don't go to heaven) oh and if "nobody's ever been redeemed." Prior to Ole snakey. Then may I ask what was Adam doing for all those years? Did the salvation of people like him, Able, Abraham, Moses, and so on just never happen?


Look I'm not asking her to be 100% true to either Dante or the Bible, but being consistent would be a nice start.

It's already been discussed, but Vivzie is only interested in Hell as nothing more than a basic setting. She likely only reads a few parts of a demon's biblical figure's wiki page before making her own oc out of it. There's no discussion about what it means to atone for your sins or any criticisms of Christianity because Viv is more interested in seeing dudes kiss and making her ocs.

That's why I gave her an average score, and she's lucky I was feeling generous enough to even grant her that....not that it matters much. Unless the Viziepop walks among us.*

I mean, Adam died and he's still being voiced as a ghost so it's not possible vivzie does the same bullshit on Lute or gives her a fate worse than death.

I never understood why Vivzie locked the sinners into pride ring beyond Hazbin an excuse to make spinoff shows in other rings completely detached from hazbin. Complete waste of her own setting.

One could say this makes the world feel big but then blitzo goes between rings so fast it feels like the entire hell is one quick bus ride away.

And since fanfics were mentioned, just for curiosity i searched the helluva boss section on Ao3 for the fic with most kudos and it's a Radioapple fic that is on the HB fandom for no reason. It has exactly the tags you expect.

For some reason I thought those leaks were from the first episode of season 2.

Regardless I'm still not confident that she's not gonna be wasted. Given the story set up she's been given you could do something really impactful, exploring exactly how the Heavenborn view Hell and the life of mortals, or posing a real challenge to Charlie to see just how committed she is to rehabilitating and redeeming people (especially if its right after Lute does something like kill Vaggie). Hell if Vivzie really wanted to be - dare I say it - provocative, you could basically make her an allegory for soldiers coming home from the various "police actions" suffering from PTSD and debilitating injuries, and how both the government and society as a whole basically just tosses them to the side like they're nothing.

But again, Vivziepop writing, so not confident.

Oh yeah, I'm not doubting that Lute will be wasted. With more plotlines, characters, and songs with still a 22- minutes 8 episodes timeline, season 2 is going to be more rushed than season 1.
 
Okay, I rarely believe in a coincidence. But after posting a new chapter for my fic, which okay did show a take on Stellas backstory, I lost two followers. The funny thing is, I kinda gave the impression from the start she wasnt gonna be how shes in S2 or rest or S1. So, either someone was slow on the take or they just now realized it.

Assuming you gave her a sympathetic backstory (Such as taking advantage of the fact she didn't have a choice in the arranged marriage either) It's funny how there's only two characters in all of Hazbin or Helluva that you can't treat sympathetically without getting shit on by the fandom, that being a literal rapist pimp and the wife who hates her cheating husband.

Youd be correct, I did try and do my take on the arranged marriage concept with the two. Which, ye Im guessing wasnt liked, which really would have been nice to get told that.

It’s even funnier that they both get gooner merch as well. And if Chaz is anything to go by, even if they die they’ll still get merch. Remember, you’re supposed to hate them, unless you want to jerk it to them. We do not hate fandoms nearly as much as we should.

Honestly, if it’s just about how you portrayed Stella/no reason was given, I say keep on keeping on and forget them.
