You will think that spindlehorse with the constant leaks would finally learn the lesson and actually apply measures to stop them from happening but I guess that's not in the budget. Like I can understand this happening all the time to companies like Nintendo, Universal, Sony, etc. because they are big enough where it's hard to track who did what, but I find too hard to believe that the "indie" company can't seem to detect its bad actors.

I swear the timing of my random thought post and then these "leaks" happening wasn't intentional. Here I was just complaining and now this happens. :story:

I'm not surprised this shit keeps happening through, if these are actual legitimate leaks; either someone must really want to sabotage Viv/Spindlehorse or someone is just really shitty at their job and keeps letting it get out. Either way, I'm curious if anything will come out from this.

I get the impression that Viv pissed someone hardcore on her staff, so in revenge they leaked S2 and S3 stuff.

I think i mentioned here a reviewer said that Vivzie doesn't make a show, she makes music videos and tries to write a fanfic around making them possible.

If we see Ozzie's song the "finale song" of season 1, it aged really bad. Lyrics looks bizarre in hindsight with current ozzy and stolas (who felt ashamed), as if it was really written before both were changed to be hyperlikable gays who value true love and consent.

I consider Mastermind the "finale song" of season 2 and it's also very offensive. The song was (allegedly) written +3 years ago, the lyrics don't make sense with the final episode and Satan ruling before lucifer was retconned by vivzie on the same day. It's likely that Satan DID rule hell originally but Hazbin releasing made her change her mind.

Season 4 finale should only release after 4-6 years and is very likely to go through multiple changes before being finalized, but the song being finished NOW means it will make no sense with the inevitable changes.

Dude, that's so fucking obvious. The pilot wanted to make it clear that singing was something that's special to Charlie, and to her, a means to convey thoughts and emotions, with Vaggie trying to bring her back to reality.

And guess what was the reaction people gave her when she tried doing exactly that even when Vaggie told her not to?

That's why she was so mesmerized by Alastor's Reprise because Alastor was the only other person in the pilot to share her musical enthusiasm.

They try to recreate Charlie and Vaggie's banter in "Overture" but it doesn't work because:
1. Vaggie says it quietly and more to herself as Charlie had already started singing.
2. Charlie spends most of "Happy Day In Hell" singing to herself then to the Sinners.
3. When she DOES sing directly to another character, you know what she's responded with? A song.

Singing isn't that unique of a character trait to Charlie anymore seeing how EVERYONE is doing it.

It's even more appalling when in the original episode outline, a good amount of these characters who sang in the show were either in the comics or not in the season at all.

Hell, the original version of "Masquerade" has it where instead of singing, Angel and Husk talk it out the whole way through.

But after getting all these Broadway actors for Helluva Boss, especially replacing Brock with one, Viv decided to make Hazbin a full fledged musical and have all the characters sing, regardless how little the songs made sense or matter, as that's apparently more important than telling a coherent story.


And of course, she tries to act like this was always the plan, and undermines the pilot VAs since "not everyone was a singer" or "the singers didn't match the voices". First of all, Stephanie's singing makes Vaggie sound like a completely different character. More importantly, dafuq? The pilot was an open casting. Only Charlie and Alastor required singing talent, and from I recall, you barely talked about potential musical numbers in the show prior to A24 picking Hazbin up.

Viv very much wanted Hazbin to be a musical show. It was always her dream to get Broadway actors and/or people with some singing talent to voice her characters. Her voice claims for these characters were always with someone who sang, and she was always animating songs and musical numbers with her characters. I'm just surprised she didn't get anyone who had experience with *writing* musical numbers. Instead, she had someone who wrote fan songs, and another that wrote songs for pre-teen Jojo Siwa.

Her talking about how she was able to bring so many people who worked on the pilot onto the actual show is so ironically funny. None of the writers besides Viv herself were brought on to the show, so I'd argue that the show doesn't have the same spirit as the original.

And they got a separate voice actor for both of them for the singing. They could have done that for the other characters as well.

I remember at one point she also tried to get YourMovieSucks to write music for her but he turned it down

It's really interesting as I remember her drawing fanart of YMS and his horse furry thing. I can't seem to find it. On streams he even said they were friends and they talk, can't imagine what these two weirdos talk about, as they both have a zookink.
