Arguably, Vox should be the most dominant of the 3 Vs. What is being used to spread Velvette's social media fashion trends so she gets money? What is being used to give traction to Valentino's porn for his money? Technology provided by Vox. It's just that Viv made him look pathetic next to Valentino because everything in her shows revolves around sexuality seme-uke thingy. Remove the stupid faggot shit and I guarantee Vox could be written as more terrifying, considering the actual risks of media in general IRL.

I don't know. I still found Valentino to be the more pathetic one. His introduction really ruined it for me as it showed him to be a dumb whiny crybaby that acted more like toxic ex with Angel than an actual pimp. Even in episode 4, I didn't find him to be as threatening as they were trying to portray him. I don't know if it was the voice, the fact that the dialogue was cut out from a fetish comic, or that when Valentino was acting like that one guy from the infamous Family Guy abuse episode with no subtly whatsoever. It was all tropey to me. I think it would have been more interesting if the abuse was more in that Valentino fed into Angel Dust's drug habit. Maybe he threatens to cut him off (we kind of see that in the pilot when Angel has to sleep with nobodies so he can buy his drugs), or he uses them as a way to make Angel susceptible to his requests. Though, the show doesn't really delve into Angel's addiction at all.

One thing that I will say that I liked was that don't have Valentino physically abusing Vox like they did in the Instagram posts. I liked that they showed Vox being the one to keep Valentino under control, and that he is actively manipulating Val to get what he wants. Which if it's still canon that he was a cult leader when he was alive, it would make sense. And his powers of being able to hynotize people would fall in line to his background. Though, all that charisma goes down the train when Alastor appears on the scene. I don't mind the idea of him losing control because of Alastor; it just happens way to quickly. Him losing composure should happen slowly instead of right away. And it should definitely not happen in the public eye.

And Velvette is...kind of there. Viv definitely didn't have much of a solid idea for her like the other two, as her initial design showed that she was going to be hyperactive and "quirky" before it got changed to what we see in the actual show. She is an influencer and is in charge of the social media side of things, but she's also a fashion designer and the creator of the love potion (I don't know why Val isn't since that falls under his shtick). I could see her being the kind of person to spread rumors around and stretching the truth, though she doesn't appear to have any powers that reflect that; she can make clothes appears which...okay, I guess. She's definitely undercooked compared to the other Vees. Maybe she'll get more to do in season 2 as we did see her in the leaks, but you know how Viv is with her women characters.

Velvette is...kind of there.

Velvette probably would’ve worked if she was some cyber bully/e-stalker type (plus works as a reason why someone like her sticks around ppl like vox in the first place), like if your gonna make her have connections to social media you can easily make her the type of person who’d accuse people of horrible shit so she can have more fans (I guess the average e-whore would be what I’m referring too).

I've always found it funny how the comic seems to treat Vox as a bigger threat than the actual show. We don't get any dialogue from him, but him jumpscaring Alastor is enough to make the Radio Demon go on a swear-laden rant.
Meanwhile, in the show, Vox is this flailing retard that easily gets schooled in his debut episode and then just... does nothing for the rest of the first season (besides providing running commentary for Adam vs the Hazbins). Velvette gets even less screentime, and it's fucking Valentino, the retarded moth rapist, whose scenes actually have gravitas and a sense of menace.

The way he was presented in Vaggie's story of Alastor, how he "appears" and was in light, while the other Overlords were already in place and were shadowed out really suggests that he was the most powerful Overlord there is.

The fact that Viv headcanon Mark Hamill as his voice actor made me think he was going to be Joker if he had Lex Luther levels of influence. His relationship with Alastor was essentially Joker and Batman but instead of a mad man toying with a stoic serious crusader, it's a mad man toying with a joyous smiler.

Alastor is a dark parallel to Charlie, not just the fact that they're both charismatic entertainers who express their thoughts through song. He hates Vox the same way Charlie hated Katie Killjoy for getting under her skin. Vox isn't only modern tech, but he's modern tech that hailed from the early 1900s. Alastor seems to dislike the idea of change, and everyday Hell is changing to a more advanced state with Vox being the literal face behind the scenes through TV and social media (yes, Vox was also the social media Overlord, hence the Instagram parody was originally called Voxtagram, WTF was Velvet's character?) He could be in Vox's shoes, but chooses not to because it goes against the principles of his character of not using technology invented after his death, purposefully limiting his capabilities.

Even though the societal environment of Hell is changing, its inherit nature isn't, which he tells Charlie about when he first arrived at the Hotel. People had their chance on Earth, and now they're stuck in eternal Damnation, doomed to be the bottom of the barrel scums forever. Besides Cannibal Town, it's one of the only things left that Alastor can say will stay the same, which he gleefully embraces. He is always smiling, but you can't tell if that's the emotional mentality he's processing. His confrontation with Vox in his prequel comic shows that even if he's still smiling, he does display different emotions when frustrated, but given how he acts in other places, one would question what he would do to handle that situation.

Alastor is a known deal maker with tremendous power, something he went wild with on his arrival in Hell, but that doesn't seem to be all he is. Nowadays, having power is more of a convenience, as after utilizing it, he moves on to a different subject. Power isn't his entire personality and it's open for interpretation on how he feels if that's what people only see him for, as evident by those demons who ran when he simply said "hello".

When you look past his atrocities, he can be a fun guy to hang around, and you can see why Charlie would willingly want to hang out with him.

Quite the fascinating specimen. Who knows what's his endgame for all of this is, making him all the more unpredictable as Vaggie quoted. Despite not believing in Charlie's cause, he's the best person she could get, similar to how Charlie is the best person Alastor can lean on to fuel what little he has remaining in what he fondly remembers Hell for...

Of course, like Angel, I just described his OG characterization, since series Alastor is also a whiny bitch. He thinks he's the shit, gets proven to not be the shit, and will prove to everyone that he is in fact, the shit, only to be to revealed to be Rosie's shit and soon Vox's shit. Series Vox thinks that would be an accomplishment, but pissing Alastor off is like every Saturday for Pre-series Vox.

Now, I personally don't necessarily believe Angel should overrun Charlie as the main character, but OG Angel was compelling enough where he could've been the sole tenant of the hotel, given his bio wants to make it known that he is the catalyst of this whole thing.

To be fair, you can say that to everyone else in the pilot, I think I already mentioned Alastor's voice how it's should have been more static and inconsistent rather then 99% be in radio voice, however the other voice I missed was Husk, as much as I like Keith David, every time he speaks I don't think of him as Husk, I think of him as either, Spawn, Anderson from Mass Effect or The Devil from Tales from the Hood 2.

You could say that the imp was just a placeholder for the time but the early version looked finished and all the other overlords that appear on the pilot and the offical series are there besides the owl guy that becomes a two-head demon in the pilot and the red bird from Helluva for some reason?

This could explain with she's given a song in season 1 despite having zero relevance after that, why she describes herself as the backbone of the Vees but never shows how, her lack of connection to any character in the hotel and why she feels so out of place on the general dynamic between Vox and Val: she's just another case of Viv creating a character as an afterthought with her song as an excuse to showcase her newest OC.

Because muh seggsizum. Ironically, she became more sexist by making Velvette just being the girl of the group with no depth and frankly, going by Viv's retarded writing, it might stay that way. Her fault. She said Hazbin would be female-centric, but hardly gives girls character development and bases everything on sexuality and relationships. What would she mean if she made all the overlords male or only had one female overlord that has the redeeming quality of loving her daughters while all the males are nasty assholes?

How Velvette could be the backbone? If Viv had a brain, she'd make Velvette the backbone of the Vs because she is bright, peppy, playful, witty, sassy, and charming, making her a good promoter of their products. Val and Vox have to keep Velvette pleased and pampered because if she gets upset because they didn't let her have her way and leaves, they won't have anyone to publicly spread their stuff in an appealing way. Yes, Velvette can leave because she has her own business empire. She just wanted an up in power and influence so she joined Val and Vox. That way, the three of them practically almost rule Pentagram city.

I was thinking it's programmed in the Hellhounds to feed their "mother" regardless of if they really want to or not. So they either feed her newbies or they feed themselves to her like a sacrifice much how like Satan says that he designed Imps to be obedient.

As well as Gluttony being the only place to get fresh Beelzejuice, and in my version it's addictive so it incentives then to come back for more.
