Original Angel's appeal is despite his feminine appearance, he was a wisecracking jackass who does what benefits his interests. He was abused, yes, but he wouldn't let that bring him down entirely. Not saying Valentino's abuse is justified, but pre series Angel would do things he's not suppose to, like dealing with the loan sharks in his prequel comic, or having sex with an unassigned john when he had to be at work. The Hotel was a potential out for his situation with Val, but becoming a better person might not be who he truly wants to be. His friendship with Cherri Bomb shows that he is ultimately a sinner in Hell, and this violent lifestyle is what he enjoys, giving him all the reason to want to stay down there. He does show compassion, like when he pushed Cherri out the way out of the Egg Bois' attack, and when he realized how much he hurt Charlie, he nearly reached out to console her, only to back away, because he's unsure about transitioning into a more vulnerable person, as he doesn't want to ruin his reputation among his fans as the porn life is something he is passionate about when he removes all the ugliness involve with it. It's a choice that he's conflicted with, but it's a choice nonetheless, as he didn't really have one when he was alive as the time period he lived in mixed with the gangster upbringing prevented him from much opportunities.




But nahhhhhhhhh, now he's just a whiny bitch.

Imagine how cool it would've have been if a situation like this was explicitly given as the reason for the exterminations - that Adam and his girls were basically engaging in an annual Apocalypse prevention measure that was aimed at keeping the truly titanic Lovecraftian monsters in check and keeping them from annihilating creation. You could still keep the ethical dilemma aspect of it due to how it still means permakilling scores of petty sinners or souls who might actually be redeemable, as well as the implication that Adam and the Exorcists themselves have slowly become corrupted in the exercise as they're getting way too much enjoyment out of the mass slaughter.

In fact, this is another case where the fans have put way more thought into everything than Vivzie has as there are countless fanfictions that have very much addressed all of the above.

Not like the men are anything special since they all either gay, twinks, assholes, tumblr sexymen, angsty or a combination of all the mentioned. One thing that makes the cast of her shows feel so bloated is the fact the many character archetypes quite literally resemble each other to an unbelievable degree, Mammon and Adam for example to the point that their designs are very similar.

I can't remember who mentioned this but saying Adam looks like Mammon. Well found this. This is one of the few times they reuse their own animations the other is Stolas and Lucifer. Makes them look way to similar when your reusing it shot for shot.

Doodler16 mention this on their own page about how the Adam is a fanart and that Mammon was after the fanart (Circa December 2024.)

Until Seasons 2 comes out for Hazbin Hotel, I think most people here are just going to be talking in circles. Because at the end of the day, both shows are a bore.

Unless something interesting come out about production or the people behind the show that is.

Keith David needs to get away from this mess, his performance as half the black characters in pre 2022 Saints Row was amazing and he doesn't deserve this shit, afaik he hasn't been talking abt the show either.

NGL Keith seems like the type of guy who does something just for the paycheck and not because he actually likes the script, but still gives his a-game, that's worth respecting.
