Schizo theory time: the reason why is because Viv was scared that having Vero and Stolas alone in a duet would be used as shipping fuel by the fanbase and we know thanks to Hazbin Hotel that she will go to great lengths to kill any ship that she doesn't personally like (ex. Alastor x Charlie).

I wouldn’t consider this too far fetched, considering how fandoms work and how the creators/directors/writers whatever you wanna call them; is almost always influenced by the fandom and the ships, because let’s compromise good writing, ideas and other shit because fujos are fucking wet and want two male characters to be gay for one another because god forbid any normal friendship in modern day writing, Shows like Star Vs the Forces of Evil, Voltron etc. were all fueled by the shipping shit, and look where they all ended up. In the case of your example, it prevents two characters from having a moment or an interaction because the moment shippers get just a sniff of blood, there will be a feeding frenzy,

I’ve said it time and time again, Shipping is the literal cancer of any fandom, and the creators and writers shouldn’t listen to rabid shippers at all. It sacrifices so much creative freedom when you try to shoehorn in shit that appeases .1% of a fandom, in the process alienating those interested in the original premise and driving away actual fans. The only ones who the writers should be listening to is the actual fans.

It doesn't help that Vivzie herself is a shipper who loves making shows with lots of ships since most of her creative decisions are based on what would look good shipping-wise. That's why she had Alastor say he's like Charlie's "Dad" despite the fact that just fueled that ship between the two.

Shipping itself kind of feels like a deal with the devil kind of thing since shipping helps keep some fandoms alive along with getting more merch out there, but creators should really never listen to the shippers which is the only beneficial interaction between a creative and a shipper. Otherwise you just get Helluva Boss Season 2.

focus more on Stolas

I mean, as much as I have a crush on Stolas’s design, I could wish the same myself, at least if he would just be there and not interact with anyone. Unfortunately, Stolas’s character is completely unbearable and downright miserable to watch - he’s a concentration of all the unhealthiest feelings and emotions at this point, getting way too much focus and screen time and making the entire show revolve around his lunatic struggles. It doesn’t have much to do with his medication too, because he has been like this since season one, except less unstable.

I was also particularly disturbed with how his emotional state was depicted in the season two finale. For fuck’s sake, the birdfaggot violently beat up another birdfaggot with gallons of blood splattering and face stomping, are you kidding me?!


If everyone’s getting more Stolas in the third season, I’d at least hope that he mans up, starts uncluttering his life, showing healthy feelings and restoring connection with his daughter.

They were giving you free advertising. I literally discovered Helluva Boss, because someone drew the male sheep and Loona as a pair and I thought. “Oh, that’s cute, where’s this from?” and then back tracked it. I regret doing so, considering the rabbit hole, but still.
