I think it's weird how the Vees are the only truly "evil" Sinners shown so far; yeah, I get why they're there – Vox has his autistic obsession with Alastor, Valentino is Angel's personal villain, and Velvette... is just there, I guess. But we don't have any other antagonists on the Hell side, Zestial is just treated as 'haha quirky Shakespearean english guy', Carmilla and Rosie are seen as 'good' somehow, even though they've both done objectively evil shit.
For that matter, why does the show act like Pentagram is the only city in Pride? I get that it's where the Hotel is, but where are the other towns, where are the other Overlords? Sure, there's Imp City, but it only exists in Helluva, which never really explores what happens there.
Maybe I'm asking too much, but everything about Hazbin's setting just feels half-baked, it definitely needed way more than 8 episodes. In its current state, it just feels like an any% speedrun of a better story, except at several points, the speedrunner wastes time doing random sidequest shit instead of progressing.
 
I finally sat down and watched Hazbin, and yes, it feels exactly like they were speedrunning a story and mashing arcs together. There's an interesting premise here but they did the least interesting thing possible at every opportunity. You hate to see it. At least Chadam was there... for three episodes. And they didn't do anything interesting with him either, besides give him a guitar-axe. You'd think the original man who lived for 900 years watching all his children and the entire world get ruined by sin would provide ample opportunities for writing fun, but no, they couldn't even do that.

My biggest complaint is as you said how they rushed storylines that should have gone on a hole lot longer. Case in point Lucifer and Charlie's relationship.

8 episodes just isn't enough for the scope of Hazbin, Viv it's infamously known for never sticking to a sole idea and wanting to do multiple things at once and HB shows how she lacks patience with her own plots with the way she skipped development of Stolitz, letting the fandom explain it themselves. The fact that season 2 it's just 8 episodes again should tell you everything you know about the pacing, buckle up because it's gonna get even faster.

Honestly, the episode count isn't the issue, it's moreso the amount of seasons she gets. For instance, Roo. She's apparently suppose to be the endgame villain... but when would she be properly introduced? Is she suppose to make her debut in Season 3 then have prominence with each subsequent season, or will she not appear until the very final season? Which leads me to question how many seasons does Viv actually have for this show, because she'll be "fine" with 6, because that's how many seasons BoJack Horseman has, but before saying that, she said that she'll do as many seasons the network gives her, so dafuq would happen if this show goes on for 10+ seasons?!

She could have done the eight episodes fine. If you look at the pitch bible, there was only 9 episodes, with the first episode being what we got as the pilot. The reason why the pacing worked for the pitch bible was because it was set on a much smaller scale. There was no war to prepare for with Heaven, no exorcist that has gotten killed, no Overlord drama. The focus was mainly on the hotel, and the characters from there.

Sure, it starts out relatively the same with Charlie meeting the general of the Exorcists and the Extermantion going to happen sooner. But that's when the similarities end because instead of introducing new characters like the Overlord, the Vees, and angels we meet up in Heaven, we instead focus on the Hotel and the people who live there. The season finale for the pitch was Charlie gathering up the Seven Deadly Sins to talk about the Extermination, and that's when we get to meet Lucifer; not mid-season like we do in the show. Instead of five months happening from episode 1 to 4, we get 8 eight episodes for those five months to naturally happen.

But at the end of the day, it doesn't matter how many episodes Viv has, because the number of episodes isn't the issue with the story. It's her writing itself. She got rid of the people who helpful her write the pilot, and Brandon Roger's hasn't helped written Helluva Boss since season 1 (I don't really count the ghostfuckers episode as an episode he wrote since he probably had to rewrite what Viv initially wrote once the storyboards got leaked. It's also why it probably came out as episode 10 instead of 6). She's terrible at pacing out her stories and adding new ideas when they're not needed or don't make any sense.
 
Honestly I have low expectations for Season 2. All it has to do to be enjoyable is be better than Helluva Boss Season 2

I'm pretty sure the people who say Stella is a better parent aren't going to change their minds since it just is adding more irredeemable traits to whitewash Stolas.

Like I'm pretty sure Stolas would've been seen as more sympathetic even on here if the show were self-aware of his flaws and he wasn't a lying narcissist who likes to gaslight people into thinking he's better than he is.
 
I have enjoyed the show.

Some light watching.
I do not think Octavia turning om Stolas in the last episode was very believable. They had a good relation, and suddenly just because her dad did not want to live in an abusive marriage she disawovs him. Did not feel very character like. Actually it feels very DEI inspired girlbossy.

We shall see how they develop it.

He does glaze some merits of Stolas/Stolitz in the video but I can give him a pass since he did clarify he's one of the people who's still in the "want to give the show and its characters a try but is actively struggling to do so the further the show goes on" phase. He also seems to try so hard to not offend the fans too much by constantly reminding the viewer that "hey I don't think this is fully bad please here look at the good parts of what I was criticizing" over and over again. Like, come on man. You criticizing the show generally will already leave the avid defenders banging on your walls. It's better to go all out than trying to appease them.

Other than that, a pretty solid video. Probably one of the more distinctive videos that discuss the issues with the shows. He's already predicting himself to distance from the show if it continues doing what it refuses to fix, so I'm prepared to see that.

His marriage was already ruined. Stella is shown to be an extremely bad character to be with. Their marriage was arranged.

And I did not mean she was girlbossy overall, just that that simple action was DEI inspired, or possibly plot inspired, that is all, we shall see how they develop it. It is okay to interpret things differently, everything does not have to be black and white.

You will not find any media that is perfect all the way, especially not in these modern times.

I just think Octavias action did not fit with the character overall, it was something that happened because the plot needed it to happen more than the motivation of the character. That is all.

Stolas told Octavia he would never abandon her at all because she feared him abandoning her for Blitzo, and then the episode prior to the season 2 finale had him literally throw his life away on live TV for his boyfriend then not even bothering to see her for over a month despite being capable of just walking to the mansion and spent his sweet time dicking around with Blitzo.
