If anyone's in the mood for some angsty fanwork I found a comic that's 3edgy5me but well-drawn. Here's one of the funnier pages:

This one's even edgier but at least they got Stolas' character right:

Mark my words, if it were another feminist writing this and not Vivziepop, Stella would be the good guy. Forced into marriage, won't take shit from her weak-ass husband who can only pretend to be nice and she knows it, claps back because she doesn't tolerate that anymore, is treated even shittier by the cheating fag, and she now wants him dead for all he's put he through.

These people really forget all the shitty things that Stolas has done because he's sad and he cries. Blitzø is the exception to how Stolas treats the lower class
Poor butler imp. Truly the hero of the working class man. Then the fans would excuse this by saying Stolas was unaware and caught in the heat of the moment with anger and stress. I thought they were the "eat da rich financhuds" type, but I guess it's only OK if the rich person were a gay twink. "If you don't meet my standards, bad. If you meet my standards, good." Pretty privilege at its finest.

And then it evolves into unironic torture porn where they cripple and gun down Stella, kick and spit on her corpse wtf. Then stolas and blitzo have gay sex 2 pages later. It's like a parody of stella haters.
That's e621 for ya.

Anyway, yeah. It's clear Viv wrote Stella for this kind of thing from the fans because "gay good, straight bad."

In fact, I've been seeing people practically begging for ACTUAL Millie development.
This especially considering the Moxxie/Millie relationship was one of the most charming parts of the early episodes.

And to go back to Zoophobia, where Cameron (Cameron who?) became a background character in a series named after her phobia, Blitzie (Stolas has renamed him), despite being the lead character the whole series is named after, is now just a butt monkey to Stolas. Might as well be the Stolas show at this point.

Also it just shows disrespect that he hates the Blitzie name but Stolas calls him that anyway. He's just some imp plaything.

Because Viv doesn’t want them to be characters, only her favorites.
You're giving her too much credit. Women artists like viv are influenced by the people around them, they don't have that immovable boulder voice in male artists that screams this is fucking retarded and blurs my vision. When they do its on a fucking whim and even more retarded, but in a way that doesn't actually alter their bullshit story to begin with. Being a wittle kitten that paints scawy demons, fuck you i need the gay lovers uwu is more devastating then falsely believing she had the mental compacity to have concrete versions of her own fucking characters.

Feminism edit: There ARE gurls who got concrete versions of their own fucking characters #slay

This fandom must be doing something right (or very, very wrong) to have fucking 780 pages so far and season 2 hasn't even released.

I could be wrong, but I think that comic was commissioned by someone.
Might wanna say which comic, considering there's two there. It looks like one's a rewrite/AU, the other is just torture porn.

I don't even know what Stella is even supposed to be! Is she a peacock? An eagle? Others said swan (ffs I swear if Viv can't draw a SWAN'S BILL to make it identifiable for shit). I'm sure we assumed she was another owl at first. A secretary bird?
The swan thing intitally made sense as her beak was more wider in the first season. StellaAngrilyPointing.webp 1684954409932145.webp
But then season 2 came along and shrunk it because I guess since they decided to make Andrealphus her brother who's a peacock, they wanted her to look more like a peahen. And her beak has been shrinking ever since. 1672368355637.webp FwnD9aiaUAAcZXR.webp HBs2e12_-_Stella_talks_to_Andy_about_who_is_calling.webp
The slap drawing so much blood is funny too because Stella should have no means of harming Stolas whatsoever, he should dodge it easily and teleport away if necessary, this bad powerscaling really breaks my immersion /sneed.
I would like to remind everyone that Stolas has been stabbed multiple times by angelic weapons and came out pretty much fine after a week or two in the hospital. He also very much enjoys when Blitzø uses fucking bear traps on him during sex. So Stella giving Stolas a slap should have no affect on him whatsoever.

Well, I know both are from the same artist, but I believe the torture porn was def a commissioned one. The rewrite also may have been commission, but I could be wrong.

I didn't even think she may have supposed to be a Swan until someone said so. Like I said, the beak can emphasize that, but no, Viv cannot design various, distinguishable characters for shit. I actually thought she was another owl in a more distinguishable style just to say "oh this is Stolas and this one is Stella." That beak is too pointy to be that of a swan's even before Andrealphus.

I suspect, again, that the Verosika's succubus group, both demon and human forms, weren't even designed by Viv. Same goes for Mrs. Mayberry, the evil family, Loopty Goopty and the business partner, and Mr. Wiggles. They have a different feel to them design-wise. Stolas, Vassago, and Stella? Designed by Viv indeed.

I also find hilarious that Blitzo has to introduce himself to octavia after stolas dies and explains he was his lover, because the writer forgot she knows him and Stolas didn't tell her. It just makes stolas look like an asshole who still kept fucking blitzo in secret and didn't spend time with his daughter.
To be fair, the story seems to split into AU territory just before Blitzo turns up to steal the grimoire. Since Stolas is dying the meeting between them goes differently and presumably the Loo Loo Land episode never happens. That's all the credit I'll give the writer, though, because Blitzo does not speak like this (well, maybe the lame S2 Blitzo)

Speaking of, how would you guys have handled Blitzo's personality across the seasons? I think Blitz being an unrepentant dickhead would have got old eventually for the same reason Jerkass Homer got old. On the other hand, IMO he was way funnier as an angry little ball of hate. Blitz hurling obscenities over a parking spot is way better than "Only as creative as you were... flexible." So would you have kept him the same the whole way through or changed him up?

There was some character expansion going on in season 1 for Blitzø to show he wasn't just some one-dimensional asshole. He absolutely adores his adopted daughter, he does care about his employees (though in a pretty messed up way), and he wants to make a name for himself against a system that puts him on the bottom of totem. The problem is that when season 2 came along, the show wanted to solely focus on his "relationship" with Stolas instead of with his employees. IMP is apparently supposed to be this found family where even if they're jerks to each other, they still have each other's back. But there's not enough of that shown to be proven to the audience.

To put it simply, this show is an inconsistent mess with a bloated cast that doesn't know what it wants to be. This new short proves this as if you look at the timeline with the main show, this supposedly happens after Sinsmas; where Blitzø spares a target, and this shows that he as a character is changing. Only for him to go back to his early season 1 counterpart for the next hit. The show wants to be this episodic dark comedy where you're supposed to just laugh at the edgy characters but also wants to be a serialized drama where you want the characters to grow and become better. It wants it's cake and pie...and ice cream and donut and cookie and any other desert you can think of mashed together where after one bite you feel sick from it all.

@InJailOutSoon put it best why it doesn’t work as is. However, we can separate the existence into 2 premises and go from there, depending on what we’re discussing.

If we are discussing Demon Hitmen going to Earth killing people, he is unrepentantly unhinged, but not just Blitzo, make everyone, except maybe 2 characters unhinged, IMP save for Loona, 2/3 of the Cherubs, the DHORKS Agents, everyone is about as sociopathic as everyone else, how they channel it is up to who their fighting for. Basically IASIP but set in Hell and Earth set pieces. Some episodes IMP wins, others they lose, usually when dealing with the other two factions, like the Gang deals with the Lawyer. Verosika and him are Toxic for each other? Yeah it is, they like the dysfunction cause fucking after whatever proverbial, and one time literal, nuke they set off and their banter is just that good. Stolas is a sex pest that is trying to turn their mess into an actual relationship? Make post sex Blitzo hearing the Charlie Brown Adult voice as Stolas tries to engage in Pillow talk, and have one of the angels reveal that Stolas is literally Gods punishment on Blitzo, and he’s literally never going to be free of him, unless he shuts down imp, which he will never do. The Dhork agents are pissing him off? He makes a deal with one of the cherubs to get him into Heaven, just so he can fuck the mom of the male agent and brag about it. Make it a sitcom about demons. That way, you don’t need to actually kill the antagonists, it’s more like everyone realizes that they have a job to do, and that brings them all into conflict, but once 5 hits, well, who wants to go to Dave and Busters?

If it’s BLitzo drama funtime, everyone needs to have their personalities toned down. Blitzo insults Verosika? He has the Bojack Horseman inner monologue about how big of a piece of shit he is and how she doesn’t deserve that. Stolas? Oh, does Blitzo deserve him. Worse is that he’s ruining Octavia’s life, putting Stella into a bad situation because he enables her husband. Moxxie and Millie still a sex pest to them, but really he just wants to feel what they have. Stability, affection, genuine care for one another. THe issue comes down to Loona though. You can keep the mess of the Character that is Blitzo in a drama as is when you boil it down. Self destructive person doubles down on shitty making him miserable, making him double down on shitty further. You can’t have literally everyone against him though. Blitzo’s kid should be on Blitzo’s side. I said it before, but a drama means that there will be questions of morality, if you decide to go down that route, you need someone to act as a soul, conscious, or anchor on what is moral. Have that moral center be the one person Blitzo actually, outwardly cares about. If you want this Drama, you either need to rewrite Loona entirely, or switch her out with another character, because as she is, she does not work when boiled down to her essential parts.

I will kind of continue on what is being discussed, but the show would also benefit the whole "found family" dynamic that their trying to go for is if we got episodes dedicated to each member of IMP and their relationships with one another. Season 1 should have been 12 episodes with a consistent runtime of 22 minutes, especially if they wanted to have their Stolitz relationship and the class system drama. Go back to his pilot self where Stolas called IMP to do hits for him on Earth. You can still have him be a sex pest, but don't have the deal be a transactional fucking.

Don't have the Stolas focused episode be the second one; have it in the middle of the first season. You can have subtle hints through the beginning season with the calls Stolas makes to get an idea that there is more to him. But we really need to know what the other members of IMP are about before we get to his story. And don't have every other episode of season 2 be about the relationship drama. Don't leave IMP and the business in the background. And keep the world building of Hell constant. Don't just bring it out whenever it's convenient. If you want to show the class issues of Hell, actually show said issues and don't forget about it in favor of the relationship.

Oh, and don't spend two episodes back to back on some side character and his sugar daddy. Why the fuck Fizz has two episodes dedicated to him before Millie or Loona I will never understand.

Cause he was in season 1 for 1 episode (technically a robot clone that was revealed to be sentient because funny) and thus like everything must be sucked into wholesome melodrama woobie times.

It's too bad because Stolas is actually likeable in "OOPS", helping out his friends and hooting with joy at the prospect of reading. I wish we could have seen more of this Stolas.

Then, I'd have to take care of the seasons first. Very little Stolitz faggotry drama focus. This will be business and job focused.

Blitzo is going to stay an asshole, of course, but he's going to be more professional as time passes, like less rude on the phone or when talking. Less back talk to the customer (but he cringes and mutters once the customer is gone and jokes about it with his crew).

First season is obviously the beginnings of IMP. IMP needs a big sponsor to get them to thr humans. They go to the Goetia, but they aren't that prominent, so they are scared and pick the most pacifistic Goetia - Stolas. Then they do their jobs, get them done even if they're messy. Stolas and Blitzo bang and insult each other to no end, intentionally and unintentionally. Neither put a foot down because of the power imbalance, coupled with Blitzo's rash, angry mouth that gives birdfag the reaction he wants and Stolas's leniency and air-headedness that only warrants disrespect from the people around him. Blitzo stays with Stolas for the time being because Stolas is EASY. But if things are easy, then you don't grow, especially with new conflicts, like getting the attention of DHORKS. I'd prefer to end it there instead of Ozzie's.

Season 2 starts exploring the other demons and shows their dynamics with the humans like the reptiles, baphomets, plague doctor niggas we don't know shit about, possessors, Goetias, hellhounds, etc. Blitzo learns from them gradually, but remains nasty, cocky, and loud. This leads him to using his abilities to find Barbie Wire while putting a mission involving spreading a disease to someone given to him by someone in Sloth behind him. Blitzo ruins Barb's happy life again and she sets the boundary, but Blitzo still doesn't get the signal, so he ends up inviting Stolas to Ozzie's to spy on Millie and Moxxie's date. He and Stolas get called out for being stupid niggas. They break up and Stolas cries like a bitch and Blitzo does the same. Now, no one is fucking and Blitzo needs a new business partner. So, cue in Ozzie's part 2 where Blitzo talks to Asmodeus because he violently clobbered every guard in his way to the club and he fucks every rich or smart-looking fellow he meets, Goetia or not. He tries this tactic until the demon of conflict, Leraje, notices the retardation and talks to him. Leraje tells IMP then to show him their skills, putting a hit on Mr. Wiggles. Now, Mr. Wiggles is a very well-renowed genuinely good man so someone killing him could spark outrage and investigation. IMP is so stupid and retarded they end up getting too much attention once more, and DHORKS appears again, because the CHERUBS tipped them off and our kings went back to heaven like the absolute chads they are. Leraje watches everything and laughs while eating popcorn. They return and Leraje states how retarded they all are on the job, but commends how they managed to bag many customers, from Goetia to commoner. Leraje decides to teach them, no Stolas-style bullshit.

Season 3 is where Via runs off to the human world when she's with Stolas because Stolas is being an ass again. This is now Loona's mission because now she's more social from her parties with Bee and has finally gotten some people interested in working for IMP, making her argument with Blitzo "I AM A PEOPLE PERSON" more impactful. Via is safe, but now, the Goetias find out about Stolas's retardation, so they strip him of his titles and Via takes the throne for herself because Stella and Andy taught her to have a spine unlike Stolas. Blitzo realizes he has dodged a bullet, but sees himself in Stolas, so that triggers more erratic behaviors. Since Leraje actually respects Blitzo and is willing to call out the bullshit, he gets Blitzo to calm down and reevaluate how shit he is to his employees and everyone and that's why he is crap at what he does because the negativity is pulling him down. If Blitzo really wants to be higher in society, he needs to let go of the stupid childish behavior and lock in. Then, things get better because Blitzo has good support, the business is booming, fun episodes of crazy demon shenanigans ensue. Until DHORKS manages to lure in Stolas with promises of grandeur, and since Stolas is depressed and wanting validation, he walks into the trap. Oh no! Now the balance of hell is going to be upset because actually, Stolas is only temporarily stripped and some people still like him (the majority) and Hell will be in danger because now, humans will want to go there.

Season 4, Blitzo, Moxxie, Millie, Loona, and their increased network decide to use their brains more instead of being stupid, sex-starved niggas. They manage to track down DHORKS in some episodes later. Awesome battle ensues. DHORKS loses, Stolas is saved but now permanently grounded like a kid and cries like a bitch, Via takes over and lends support to IMP. Party time. Blitzo rises up the ranks and is now one helluva boss indeed.

He and Stolas are a contrast. The one born into power acts like a weakling retard and falls eventually. The one born at the bottom rung of society learns with proper support and soon lives in a tall, fancy building surrounded with blackjack, hookers, and a loving found family.

But no, Viv has to make the royal manlet and the literal bottom-feeder fall in love. I'd even say that's a very negative message with success, saying you need to get married to a rich person or sleep your way to the top to be successful. It's meant to be progressive, but it's actually somewhat conservative regarding benefits in society where getting married is the only way to get an ideal life.

Blitzo is complicated because the cynical asshole schtick isn't funny anymore when you start to play his negative impacts straight but also make him hypertragic and unintentionally turn him into an abuse victim. Like, the season 1 verosika episode is awkward in hindsight now that you know it was all blitzo's fault and she is sad but it was only because he's traumatized blablabla i thought this was about hitmen.

Like fk009 said, if blitzo has to develop then you'd need to change almost all his relationships too because they're all badly written and unbalanced now. Moxie is still fully detached from blitzo, millie is now an emotional support side character, loona is daddy issues at random, fizz was befriended too fast, verosika is ruined and stolas is a sucessful gaslighter.

I would make Blitzo still an asshole but overtime he's more smug/sarcastic and trying to make his friends laugh along and less "i hate myself so must i lash out on my friends". Less about him realizing he was the worst person ever and must change and more about him finding some self confidence.
