The fact vivzie is "smart enough" to not put GOD in the show in order to avoid drama (safe edgy remember) but not smart enough to realize the terrible implications ofchild sinners in hell is proof of how much she doesn't think stuff through.
She really couldn't think of any other way to write one "innocent sinner" for vagie to feel guilty about and she pulls something that probably sounded deep on first glance and seemingly never thought about it again.
Honestly this is how Hitler should have been added to show kinda as a has been celebrity
Imagine if after he dies he comes into hell like a rock star, everyone loves him and thinks he's so cool
But after all these years he hasn't done anything so people stop caring to the point where he's stuck doing mall openings and reminding people he did the holocaust

Viv pussying out adding real people after people got offended at a Dahmer joke in the pilot truly was a strike to the show.
Dahmer having a popular cooking show in hell in the original canon means that this could totally happen and that would be hilarious. Make him do openings for Vox.

Let's be real, is there any actual like. punishment in Hazbin hell that isn't just what people do to each other? The only "punishment" Viv has explicitly said is that they can't reproduce. Otherwise everyone is functionally immortal and superpowered and allowed to do literally anything they want.

Vivzie definitely didn't want to deal with the stupid criticism that having all these horrible people depicted would mean romanticizing them since she already gets flak for that with some of her characters, but it is an idiotic criticism that someone who sniffs glue would really believe if you think it through.

The only punishment was the exterminations but then you find out its some convoluted plan to stop a non-existent uprising by a paranoid moron.
Really the only person being punished in Hell is Lucifer but thats null and void.
Though I guess it could be clever for Hell to just be like the crappy world you lived in except everyone doesn't need to abide by morality yet somehow a functioning society still exists with money and stuff like that so it just goes back to the dawning reality that Hell and Heaven in this show are nothing more than an aesthetic.

Sounds very much like Jhonen Vasquez's version of hell in the JtHM comics, it's essentially earth... but worse.
I don't have the comics anymore but I'll see if I can unearth some screenshots.

that actually makes too much sense, considering Viv cited Jhonen as one of her big inspirations, to the point she drew a comic in his style back in the ZP days:
Now THAT'S what I call a deadbeat dad design! Crimson in the show is nothing compared to how you interpreted him. He looks like a father that would straight up tell Moxxie he's leaving for the milk and that he's never returning. The sort of deadbeat you want to despise so much but root for in terms of how well he actually acts like a mafia member.

Nope. The only suffering they got is exterminations as Doctor of Autism said. Even so, it's just for a half-pint ploy to prevent "an uprising" despite that make no sense because how can they even uprise Heaven when they can't even access Heaven whatsoever, as it's in an entirely different world/dimension that requires special access to enter? So even if they tried to uprise, the only time they'll even be able to is during the extermination when they can take advantage of the exterminators entering from Heaven. Much to sacrifice of themselves and brethren, of course.
So again, this fear is completely useless and is just a probable cop out to justify killing a bunch of sinners because why not.
But yeah, Hell isn't really suffering if you get to not only be a furry twink, but to be immortal and have powers and abilities you definitely couldn't have back when you were alive. It's no wonder these people ended up indulging in their sins. They literally got awarded for it! Why would they care about redemption when life will infinitely be better in Hell at the risk of things being far more violent and anarchist? What's the most they'll achieve in Heaven? Being able to fly and do stereotypical goody-two-shoes things? To them that would be boring! I don't blame them! If there was a poll between if they would rather live in Heaven or Hell, you very well know most would choose Hell!
There's a real lack of drawback and while it's not that bad to interpret Hell as just Earth but more anarchic, the way Vivziepop executed it feels incredibly unfinished and unrefined to where there's infinitely more questions than any actual answers.
Though there's one sin I feel that tragically doesn't get explored is the one of fraud. Where is those who were deliberate quack doctors giving people false hopes, the therapists who just pushed people along for profit, the identity thieves, the stolen valor chickenhawks? In fact one idea I had was a lady who was an identity thief in life and in death she's now a faceless mannequin who must either draw herself a face with a sharpie in order to do anything.
The style emulation really doesn't work. I think it's because she doesn't push the insanity and the expressions. And they don't hit as hard because she doesn't push his madness Damien as suppose to feel being the Antichrist. It just seems hollow.
@Re(Runner)48 had an urge to jump back in your sandbox, so here's my favorite girls, thought about adding Andy but this is about them alone. It's really sketchy but I've been busy and still fighting artists block
LoL imagine if TrashbinHomo (that is, the Preddit page) gets wind we are doing fan art of redisigns and we are NOT calling these "Alternate Universe", and they go "extremists at Kiwi Farms are doing redisigns of HH/HB characters (and they are Hella cool!)"
Great redo man! He looks like he could still fit Viv's style, but now he actually looks intimidating and a like a proper mobster (and all around piece of shit) instead of just a clone of Moxxie.
Speaking of mobsters - I'll share my preposed rework of Valentino too.
Was a pimp who managed brothels and strip clubs in life as his primary racket, and a made man in the American Mafia while stationed in Florida (Valentino is an Italian name, but if we're keeping the slight Hispanic accent then he collaborated with some cartels and possibly picked up some Spanish for better buisness transactions).
After dying in the 1980s - he reconnects with the Sinner Mafia (a criminal organization of Sinners made up of members of the American mafia in life - hence the name) and restarts his brothel and sex buisness. Since there was no mention of any mob groups in the actual show (aside from imp mobsters) I'd figure I actually include them in a meaningful capacity.
He tricks and entices new sinners into joining his clubs for supposedly easy sex work - but in truth snares them into a lifetime of sex slavery while slowly and subtly forcing prostitutes to perform the most degrading and damaging acts you can imagine. And even those that voluntarily join as prostitutes or dancers slowly get corrupted and broken down until they're effectively toys for his clients.
As for how Angel Dust is working for Valentino - he's got no other options (plus his pride in his mob past means he refuses to essentially "debase" himself so to speak), so he reluctantly works for him as a low level enforcer. It's in this relationship that Valentino holds his failures and screwups over his head - bribing him with some free drugs and easy lay, while essentially browbeating him into doing hooker retrieval and money collection for him.
Since Angel used to be a capo, he's really good at that job, and is primary reason why Valentino goes from a bog standard made man to a major player in the Sinner Mafia and in Hell's criminal underworld
While there's nothing stopping him from just killing Valentino - the Sinner Mafia would react very poorly to having a valuable asset get clipped by a washed up former mobster.
And as it turns out - while the Sinner Mafia refuses to allow disgraced mafioso into their ranks, there's nothing stopping them from just having their members using those disgraced as employees for their enterprises as long as its profitable - so now if Angel Dust tries to flee or try to get out of this buisness arrangement, then Valentino can get the Sinner Mafia to help hunt him down.
In fact, Valentino has a whole bunch of enforcers that are actually just mobsters that disgraced themselves in death (those who were informants or snitches get a far worse fate among the Sinner Mafia.)
He (and by extension the Sinner Mafia) is one of the main antagonists to Angel Dust's potential redemption, and a potential obstacle to Charlie's Hotel. Anytime Angel Dust starts to realize that maybe the mob life and his actions aren't as cracked up as it used to be, Valentino lures him in with the promise of getting his reputation back (even though its impossible). Any possible sinners that could be redeemed at the Hotel are more potential assets for Valentino to ensnare in his prostitution empire. And if he thinks things aren't going his way... then he can call on the full might of the Sinner Mafia to help steer things his way.
TL: DR instead of Valentino being a bog standard pimp who rapes Angel Dust (and trying to write that whole can of worms), he's a made man with mafia connections who's trapping ANgel Dust in low level grunt work and empty promises of getting back into the mafia, and as a result poses a far greater threat to Angel Dust and the Hotel, because if his best enforcer slips out of his grasp, then he can call on the Sinner Mafia for help.
Like with Angel Dust, feel free to give your thoughts and feedback.

Because the world of Hell in Hazbin Hotel is very empty. We get one song in the first episode that shows the citizens of Hell living their day to day life. But then after that, the background characters just stop existing unless they're needed for a plot point.
That's something positive that I can give Helluva Boss; the world is very much alive. Scenes are filled with background characters doing their own thing outside the main plot that is shown. It gives a good read on what life for different hellborns in different rings is life.
Now this is probably due to the fact that Helluva Boss is being animated by an indie studio of freelancers instead of being outsourced to a cheap animation studio outside of the country, but even having a shot or two of background characters doing shit, or some people loitering around the hotel vicinity to give some life to this supposed overpopulated hellscape.
To be fair, redesigns of Vivzie's characters are a pretty common sight on Twitter from the perspective of critiquing the original designs, especially for the Kesha demon.

I do have some ideas of what I would do for Valentino. They do share some similarities with yours. For mine so far I'm thinking he would be a newer arrival, he was in his past life a drug dealing chemist who had ties with the mafia to sell his produce. In hell he is able to remake these drugs and already starts building up his reputation.
Anthony in this universe was an ex-junkie relapsing in hell catching wind of a drug maker he thinks he can make easy grab and a easy hook up. Holds Valentino at gunpoint and demands that he give him drugs. Where Valentino introduced him to Angel Dust (as in that time period he died ot didn't exist.) And gets hooked to it. Valentino familiar with the Mafia knows how to appease to him.

I would love to see they post about us and put my rewrites/ redesigns are on there.
I've seen what they put on there....shutter So I wonder if they'd actually like them, or they just seethe and cope that the original designs and her writing is because it's not gooner bait enough for them.

Darn it, don't make me change my profile picture again. This, as the kids would say, goes hard. In many layers, actually. It's rare to see drawings of Stella being seen in a sympathetic light, and I think this is the best depiction of her woes as a mere forced caregiver than anything, and all for what? Just for her husband to get the fantasies he wanted, even after getting banished? To be with an imp he only had a massive fetish/infatuation for? Well, he got his wishes and Stella, in the show, still continues to be a one-note cackling cartoon villain. In my vision, she'd absolutely do what she can to ruin Stolas, even after his banishment, to let him know the pain she had to suffer that he only got a small lick of.
Amazing job, dude. You killed it with this. Rough sketch or not, it still conveys the sort of emotion I really wish to see more in Stella art. Thank you.

That's what I'm saying! Why in the world are the streets so empty? Why is everything empty despite this is supposed to be an "overpopulation" issue when the streets and world of the Pride Ring looks as empty as a nightly Costco parking lot? Give the streets of Hell to look like your average Indian city! Pollution, bad air, dense areas and cracks—everything! Or better yet, Kowloon???
Remember Loser Baby when Angel Dust and Husk were in the streets? Literally no one until the musical demanded it! Remember a good majority of scenes? Literally no one until the musical or plot demanded it! There's only a crowd when it's convenient as you said!
Even then, there's a real lack of an actual "overpopulation" as no, Viv, ten sinners in one scene does not count as overpopulated.
GOD, man, the show should've stayed indie. It really should've stayed indie but NO. That woman HAD to get those super special Broadway stars and probably spent most of the budget in paying them.
