Yes, I see what you mean. Reasonable design - dreadful execution. (Tbh, I now think Black should have stuck to backgrounds and found someone more skilled to do the characters.)

Aw, @Sanae Kochiya - don't go rustling my jimmies! At first, I freely admit, I was utterly repulsed by the very concept of this show. But now I'm over the initial shock of "Tumblr: TAS" being an actual thing, I'm finding it an absolute scream! Can't wait for the first episode - I really think this could be the Holy Grail of excruciating, hilarious fail...

I will admit...

I would die of laughter if Tumblr unironically bashed this series for being poorly written, overly patronizing, soapboxy, and having bland, unoriginal, and frankly boring characters both in design and personality.

The sheer level of unawareness Tumblr would need to see itself animated and call itself shit would send my sides to orbit another fucking galaxy.

I'm very much looking forward to Tumblr's reaction when they realize this show has blatant Latino and Black racial stereotypes. Sadly it doesn't really matter. By then the people behind this show will be laughing all the way to the bank with the thousands of dollars they scammed from idiots.

I'm beginning to think the main way this thing intends to make money is by selling shitty merch.

That or surprise, surprise, after a bunch of hoopla, the nonexistent distribution deal "falls through," whine about the chans and GamerGate, and start a KickStarter/Patreon/other hipster welfare, then pocket that money, too.

How does it feel to suck so bad at attracting your target audience that not even TUMBLR will buy your shit?

Because, like, damn son! It's pretty impressive that this show is so awful that the place that routinely falls for shit like 'purple eyes r real guize its called Alexandrias Genisis & makes u a genius' is able to see how badly the show is animated and written.
Mr. Black has just given us proof that it is possible for a show to be too Tumblr for Tumblr.

What if first episode is all peachy and by the next they're taking the shit out of everything social justice, and Huey ends up becoming the audience surrogate for all the dumb shit his friends do?

Holy shit, it's a real joke. It's lame and obvious, but there's a setup and a punchline, and it makes grammatical sense. You don't have to squint to see what he was going for. It over-explains the premise (considering it was intended for a news-savvy audience, they'll already know what Scott Walker is up to), and it probably didn't need to be two sentences, but by god it's an actual joke.
