The position replacements/voting times are staggered so there are major (general) elections every two years. In the US states there is actually quite often an election every year (actually I should figure out if that's for all states), but it's not federal on the off years. The president is every four years, that's probably what you are thinking about. There can sometimes be some school district/school board (and that sort of thing, local/county stuff) elections not even in November, but not a lot of people vote in those.Isn't there supposed to be an election every four years in america or is this something else?
Its the midterms (middle of the presidents term). Meaning many federal legislative positions are up in the House and Senate and local positions. In my state there is something to vote for every year.
