I feel like this doesn't get talked about enough. The USA is in a very special and unique place where our military and armed citizenry are also the ones who are unconditionally patriotic to a fault.

A constant problem throughout every civilization in history is not letting the military get too powerful so as to avoid a coup. You need to have a strong military to defend your borders, or expand if you so desire, but if it gets too strong and decides it isn't benefitting, it turns inward. Ceasar is the biggest example but their are hundreds of others.

The USA's warfighters, veterans, and armed militiamen having a 90% overlap with the people who tear up when they see the flag is an incredibly potent balance that we fuck with to our detriment.

I don't think the left understands the degree to which their very existence depends on that balance.

You seem to be out of the loop but hasan's "gaining traction" phase ended years ago, he's been on a downward slope since 2024 and he's currently in a death spiral.

I'll disagree on that one. I have definitely been exposed to Foucault and his queer bullshit and his weird occasional good idea he threw in to dilute his poison enough to be accepted. I had a professor in undergrad who utterly detested Foucault and would flip out at the mere mention of him, so I threw in at least one footnote to any essay I had to write to something by Foucault, usually Discipline and Punish.

He would rant and call him a "degenerate Nietzschean" which I didn't understand for a couple years, it didn't sink in, although he was not calling him degenerate for BEING a Nietzschean but for being a primordial, dumb version of one.

Anyway, despite my deliberately annoying him with Foucauldian bullshit, this prof gave me an A on every paper and the class. He was openly conservative and while he denied being a neocon, was fond of Leo Strauss and his philosophy and struck me as a neocon. He wasn't.

In any event, this prof laid depth charges in my mind that only exploded later and I suddenly realized how utterly evil Foucault actually was and how poisonous his philosophy. Funny how actually being respectful to a student, even one with an idiotic philosophy, actually might teach them better than the SJW version of just screaming at them to force them to shut up.

ETA and tl;dr Foucault's philosophy is weak and exposed to the light of day, it dies.

Looks like it's at 7 days now, still lots of people getting banned though. Looking at the logs there's people without messages getting banned so he most likely has an automod filter for shock or something so only him and his moderators can see the messages from those people.

people are long past the "well I wouldn't do this bad thing because it could be done to me!" mindset, we are full on in complete ideological separation, I wouldn't even say there's just two sides that have divulged, but many, that largely fit into one big side or the other.
people are so completely fucking full of spite and bloodlust now it doesn't matter waht the opposing side could or will do if they get power, everyone is just tearing to get their pounds of flesh.

Mind you, it will get exponentially worse in the coming decade(s) but that's how bad it is right now.
