They know they're in a bubble and they like it. The bubble is the Ingroup. The intelligentsia, the high-class. Those on the Right Side of History. In many cases, these people have likely never felt accepted into society because they're weak, socially awkward, unattractive, have poor hygiene, struggle socializing - all the little High School ostracization factors - and now they feel like they're the educated wise ones looking down on the stupid ignorant masses. They don't want Chuds to see the light because they're the means through which they can feel like superior intellects, and they don't want normal people like the square-jawed tall guy who had a natural way with women or the busty blonde who they thought was a horrible cunt despite never interacting with her, because those are the people who made them feel marginalized and this is their revenge.
