I love how no one ever mentions that this is being done on purpose and one of those reasons is because of their Arab spring 2.0 paranoia.
Those uprisings were orchestrated online despite being instigated, by of course, the average Glownigger.

In reality, nothing like that is ever going to happen. Slacktivism at the very worst.
I mean maybe, but it's affecting things that are entirely nonpolitical in nature. That might be a SIDE EFFECT of whatever glownigger stuff they're doing, but I can't think of a reason Google would WANT to hide "how do I do X in C#". I can't even find fucking memes anymore on Google.

I think it's a side effect of whatever they are doing to boost dogshit MSM sites to the top of search results. The reason no one can find anything useful is because journalists are retards who don't write anything of use, but Google is boosting them because they are "trusted sources"

It's gotten noticeably worse in the past 2 months for me. DDG has actually gotten slightly worse as well, but nowhere near the degree that google has.

As a side note, I've been giving Bing a try as well. It works decently. I still don't think it's quite as good for tech searches but it could be a viable replacement for google. That said, giving all your info to MS isn't much better than giving it to Google. Everyone saying "Bing isn't as pozzed as Google" is cope.
Bing does one thing I really dislike. When you click on the search bar to type something in you get to look at the nice trending search propaganda which always seems to have the latest TDS meltdown clickbait story near the top, the kind of thing I am trying to avoid - any political content unless I specifically search for it.

The solution is not going to be another mega corps slightly less bad search, here's hoping that brave search takes off and they do something good with it or a similar project. Everything we hate about Google will eventually find its way into bing, it's just a matter of time.

Getting frustrated with reverse-image searches, so I did a little experimenting with multiple image searches with the same photo -- a photo of well-known A-list Hollywood celebrity that anyone would easily recognize. Here's my results:
  • Google: "woman" -- yes, it literally just said "woman" and showed a bunch of stock images of women with similar hair styles.
  • Bing: no results. Yes, there were no results for a major celebrity.
  • Yandex: hundreds of results of this woman in question, albeit in Russian websites that had malware when I clicked on the links.

the word suggestions that go with the image results were always vague. What's new is that reverse search just flat doesn't work anymore for people.

10 years ago I was astounded at how many people still browsed the internets without an adblocker. 5 years I was flabbergasted by how many people still browsed the internets without an adblocker. In 2021 I don't even know how I feel anymore about the quantity of people who still bla bla you get it.

Yup same here, I'm always very aware of which account I'm using whenever I search for something, and of the words I use as well. I wonder if autism will ultimately win against big-tech? I mean yeah there's a huge amount of autists in big tech itself of course, but they're all going to get disgruntled and leave at some point, and join the anti-big-tech ranks.
Adblocker is intentionally obtuse on phones for normies, and like it or not most normies tend to know the internet through their phone or their smart tvs. Why worry about adblockers when they can't get on those closed or restricted platforms?

I've been getting normies and boomers to start using brave on their phones and they are just blown away that their screen isn't being constantly buttfucked with ads. It's like watching a blind man see for the first time.

I can't fucking stand how Youtube search puts so much unrelated shit in my search results, like how the 4th search result is something vaguely related to a channel I subscribed to, and above it it says, "Based on your viewing history..." or "Other users watched..."

Bitch, what the fuck? I type in "Angry Video Game Nerd Sega Genesis" into Youtube search, and after a few relevant results it shows me a bunch of random videos for RealLifeLore or Technology Connections for whatever the fuck reason, because I've watched their videos in the recent past. And when you're on mobile, they throw in random astroturfed videos for COVID-19 or Black Lives Matter in the search query, no matter what for.

Did I ask for irrelevant stuff? Did I ask to see resources on vaccine or Dr. Faucet talking on CNN when I just wanted some AVGN clips? Did I ask to get results of some B-list comedian making fun of Trump on Stephen Colbert when I specifically searched for video game reviews? Seriously, suck my dick, Youtube.
Heh, last year any search regarding smartphones would flood the results with pajeets who title the video in English but speak in curry.

Brave is still dragging their feet on the worst abuse on mobile platforms and that is the auto playing video. They have a blocker that works on desktop but not mobile so if I make a mistake of clicking on a CNN link there is a video that starts to autoplay eating my data and I have to search for a tiny little close x box to close the fucking thing out.

What we actually need is an easy way to install and configure umatrix on phone browsers.
Or better yet, a final solution to the smart phone question. E: inshallah

uBlock Origin works on phone Firefox (or at least Android's version), that's good enough for me. Doesn't even require rooting or any of that.
isn't ublock just cosmetic filters? no ability to restrict cookies and JS?

Google Search is really annoying. Recently I had a random thought and I wanted to see if I was right.

The idea was, corsets are unattractive and not sexy. But women think that men find these things sexy, for some reason. I started to hypothesize that men would want to see a woman's tummy, and that the men who came up with corsets must have been gay, or maybe corsets were invented by women.

So I tried to search, "corsets are ugly, invented by gay." Nothing. "Corsets unattractive and made by gays." Nothing. "Corsets, bad, gay." Nothing. You get the idea, and many of my searches were more coherent than this, trying to figure out why women wear corsets and whether gay or female designers had anything to do with it. Eventually Google gave me a message in a huge font saying they don't have results for this and I should read up on how search works.

On a related topic, what really grinds my gears about YT is how, even after I've clicked "Don't recommend channel" on videos on my YT home page, I still get suggestions to watch videos from said channels alongside whichever current video I'm watching. FFS Susan, I've already told you about 100 times that you can stick Linus' shit-eating grin up your ass.

Mostly, but that's enough for my purposes and the limited amount of phone browsing I do.
In truth I've given up JS blocking as a lost battle. Too many sites are just completely broken without it.

You didn't try just "history of corsets"?
Anyhow, Google is bad and made by gays.

Getting YT to not recommend faggy shit/propaganda is a losing battle, on desktop I use FreeTube, which lets me have a nice blank homepage, or one with just my subs. It's too bad mobile solutions for YT all have issues.

This, but lately Youtube has been behaving well for me. No more pajeets flooding my results, just a reasonable quantity, for example.

I might need to start using FreeTube on my PC. It'll probably take me a while to unlearn the habit of using YT in my browser though.

In my experience Vanced is the best of a (very) small bunch, though idk if it's still being developed. The Magisk version looks like it hasn't been updated in about a year.
