It's the end times. Everything has to hit the fan before the next step. Satan is in power now. The chaos, the masses losing faith, plagues, the anti Christ. All part of the plan.

No, he just created us out of boredom to quench his thirst for the lolz. It would be quite the antinomy for an omnipresent being able to abandon us me thinks

He's just taking a break, but when he comes back water will turn into blood, meteors will fall and you will become a pillar of salt.

Not all of us:
"Your Lord ˹O Prophet˺ has not abandoned you, nor has He become hateful ˹of you˺." [Qur'an 93:3]

Only the people who abandoned him:
"Do not set up any other god with Allah, or you will end up condemned, abandoned." [Qur'an 17:22]
"Have you seen ˹O Prophet˺ those who have taken their own desires as their god? ˹And so˺ Allah left them to stray knowingly, sealed their hearing and hearts, and placed a cover on their sight. Who then can guide them after Allah? Will you ˹all˺ not then be mindful?" [Qur'an 45:23]

Actually I highly recommend if you have not done so already to watch the Martin Scorsese film Silence. It is about two Portuguese missionaries who are sent to Japan to find their Father who is rumoured to have become an apostate. This might help understand your question.

Edit: Personally I think the wish for God to be present is a wish for some kind of universal recognition of love with good will towards man. Ideally it’s the same thing we all want. Forget about the institutions it is a secular and atheist wish also in my opinion to transcend the conditions which keep us in conflict with one another.

And at the ninth hour, Jesus cried out with a loud voice, "Eloi Eloi lama sabachthani?" which means, "My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me?"

I find it interesting that even Jesus Christ loses his faith in God at this moment. In some way I wonder if Christianity has an element of atheism deliberately built into it where one does not blindly accept that there is a God and believers are in fact meant to question God’s existence in order to have a stronger faith.

I don't think that's ironic at all. That's how history works; in times of excess and turmoil, religious fervor tends to follow. I think that's why there's so much Current Year nonsense going on now, too - large segments of the population, who would otherwise be turning to God, have been stripped of God, but still retain the need for religious fervor. Everyone is trying to get closer to God right now, whether they realize it or not.

I think an entity that allows the Devil free reign to do as he pleases on Earth can be assumed to have abandoned us right at the very beginning.

Question for educated Christians - which of the following does the Bible provide more support for, in your opinion:
  • God helps those who help themselves
  • Trust the Plan
Because with all the Q-tard nonsense I'm seeing a lot of the latter, and can't help but think it's a terribly maladaptive strategy.
