I hate to defend something so fucking butt ugly but the devs have been pretty open about marketing this as an accesible rouge lite. Hardcore genre fanatics being disappointed that it lacks mechanical depth and true randomization should have realized it's not really for them.

I've been playing the first game on an off for a few years and it's a blast and I do like the personality that the game has. This definitely looks like a step down from the first game, in both character design and combat. The fast paced combat is essentially to what makes the first game so fun.

As for the the character designs yeah they are really terrible. It's fine to come up with your own interpretation of what mythological figures look like but ffs at least make them appealing to look at and to make sense for that figure, unless the figure is specifically described as being ugly. The designs in the first game are decent enough, and yeah not every character has to look like an Aryan super soldier and a pornstar, but at least make them pleasant in the eye unless there is a good reason not to.

Fantasy wheelchairs are hilarious.
I love the idea of a dnd party only with wheelchairbound individuals.

A barbarian that throws his wheelchair and his friend's at the enemies.

A rogue with the sneakiest wheel in the realm

An artificer with a rocket attached to his wheelchair

A cleric of Illimather that will do secure wheelchair accessibility in dungeons and taverns.
And a villain whose motivation for being evil is that he violently hates the ADA.

I'm enjoying the game, pretty polished for EA. The gameplay feels fine but I'm not the type to get super analytical about its systems. It feels good for the most part.

The artwork looks fine. If you don't like woke-adjacent "inclusive" shit then why the fuck are you playing a Supergiant game, they've been doing this since Pyre. The choices they've made largely make sense for the characters (Hephaestus is disabled, Chaos is genderless, Eris is a manic pixie dream girl, etc.). Scylla and the Sirens is a fun concept.

I don't love Hestia's design not because of her size (she's a domestic goddess, it makes sense that she's fat) or her color (hearth-coal, whatever), but because it has way too much going on and it doesn't gel. My guess is it will get refined.

Sorry but Brave browser is fucking with me and I'm lazy.

I've now "killed time" as it were and played more or less everything there is to play in this game.
I will say this: I know what they were going for with the gameplay. Basically It took me giveortake 5 about 20 attempts to kill time. My first successful attempt involved spamming omega attacks. If you don't know, there's a mirror of (just kidding alter of ashes) which you can upgrade stats and shit. The biggest things are 3 death defiances and you can also unlock 4 mana regen per second. From there charge attack spam with some relatively okay hammers led to a win without even having rare or epic attack/special boons.

tl:dr; using omega charge abilities is fine once you unlock mana regen and the game seems to encourage you doing so.

What I'm trying to say is the game locks you into dumb playstyles for hours, and then once you wrap your head around it and unlock enough shit it all falls into place and becomes totally doable.

The Olympians still look like arse and I haven't even bothered playing the game since killing time once.
I'll beat the rest of the game when they've finished making it (since I bought it like a retard), but I won't be going back to it until they (or more realistically the modding community) fix the insanely retarded Olympian designs.

Actual great game (early beta) is released for once.
*omg that art is awful, woke devs, literally DEI
I don't understand some of you sometimes (the rest I do, the griftosphere needs fresh fuel)
The American spreads its love of niggerfying everything white, as its jewish overlords demand.

"its ok, I dont mind, give them money for more nigger"

What a shit nation lol.

Replaying the first game for a bit and I forgot how terrible the enemy and level designs in the final two worlds are.

When I think of goddess Hestia, I don't think of the danmachi version or a literal overweight black neighborhood aunty. If I were to pick one, I'll pick the danmachi one because for all the coomer design decisions, Hades' design is objectively worse in every aspect. God, what an eyesore that one is.

Beaten Eris and Time multiple times.

The game seems harder right now than Hades 1. Chronos is a harder boss fight than standard Hades. Eris is bullshit. You either have a build that counters her or she completely shits on you.

Beating Hades 1 was just basically shoot for a Duo Boon and then use that to skullfuck Hades. None of the duo or legendary boons in Hades 2 can carry you that hard. Also the room mobs ramp up way higher last level than Hades. Elysium was as hard as it got and Satyrs were easier and a breather. Meanwhile trying to get that last bit before Chronos requires way more effort. Those mini bosses in Tartarus are rougher than the first 2 bosses.

Eris you have the Hestia run boon, true grit, or Aspect of Artemis and shit on her or she completely wrecks you due to her bullshit damage ramp. They were trying to go for a boss that rewarded mobility i guess.

I tried it out, knowing nothing except the first Hades was great. First thing I notice is all the greeks are now niggers and trannies. If they aren’t trannies or niggers, they are incredibly ugly. I think to myself, whatever. Hades 1 has good combat, Hades 2 will have good combat. But no, it’s infested with slowdown mechanics, button bloat, CRAFTING/GATHERING, and even heavier meta-progression than the first game. But still, i’m open. Maybe i’m shit, maybe it gets cooler when I get into the flow. Then, the game puts me into an unskippable interactive cutscene where I have to play hide and seek like i’m 4. I just alt f4’d. shit game with the curse of sweet baby stamped on it.

With Eris the trick just seems to be "stay behind her and avoid her AOE attacks." Basically just a faster Cerberus. I've beaten her a couple times but with the topside path still being Early Accessed I don't have any reason to do a surface run at the moment.

That said I'm struggling like a bastard with Chronos. Does anyone have any tips? The guy just cuts through me like butter. I've managed to get to his Final Form a couple times but I get 999'd pretty much immediately every time, I can't tell where I'm supposed to stand to avoid that?

Just blink into him. It usually works.

If you want the free win. The dodge build with Aphrodites 15 percent dodge infusion, plus snagging an epic 20 percent dodge off Hermes, plus the arcane 10 percent. Then grab Echos 50 percent dodge (that goes down per blink) is as free as it gets.

The grit infusion build off Demeter is another easy win.

Blades of Artemis is also easy. The parry works on him and the blink strikes put you behind him while you dps.

He also folds to most ranged strats. Just stay away from him and his combo doesnt mean shit.

Dionysus is packing some serious heat in this game.

I do not feel like reading through the last 7 pages.

Is there anything worth checking out with Hades 2 or is it just "More Hades" from a gameplay standpoint?

I don't care about the gay Tumblr artstyle or character writing or any of that. The first game was fun in spite of it. I just want to know if the second game does anything to make itself stand out in the gameplay department.
