There was a show on Channel 4 in Bongland a while ago called My Big Fat Gypsy Wedding. It was one of the sort of documentaries we got in the 2000s-2010s like Benefits Street, basically "look at these feckless poors and feel better about yourself/outraged enough to write to the Telegraph". Even if it were deliberately edited and staged, it still looked bad. Child marriages (people can marry at 16 with parental consent in England and without in Scotland, it's weird), creepy "honour" culture like the Indian izzat thing, children dressed up like hookers and doing "sexy" dancing, and hilariously tacky dresses and decor. Some of the dresses had LEDs in them so they flashed like a Christmas tree, most were huge and ridiculous. Christening gowns similar.
There's a lot of clips of it on YouTube, here's one to get you started.
It wasn't quite true to life, because as anyone who's worked in A&E can tell you, gypsy weddings always end in extreme violence. Whenever my mum was on call and there'd been a wedding, the ambulance crew would have to ask all the patients and visitors if they were with the bride's family or groom's family and separate them so that they didn't resume the fight in the hospital.
ETA: A Czech colleague told me a joke:
A tower block burns down, and all the deceased were gypsies. At first, the police thought it was a hate crime, but when they investigated, they found out it was because when the fire started, all the other races were out at work.
