If you actually think about the theology here it's fucking bonkers. Christian Europe can't turn to God because America owns Christianity and God follows the American State Department, I guess.

Looking through political eyes is a great disservice to yourself. Gunther is stuck in this 90s bubble of neocon thought, trying to look at him with today's eyes is just sort of silly.
