He reminds me of this character from my town. It's this middle-aged developmentally disabled dude who loves public transport, so he spends his days around the central train station (which also has a whole bunch of tram stops in front of it, it's the biggest transport hub in town) and pretends he's a conductor. He's not, and the tram drivers and train engineers follow their own signals, but they always wave at him and at least pretend to humor him because he's harmless and it makes him really happy. Also if there's a temporary change in route and you're not sure how to get somewhere, you can ask him and he will explain it to you more accurately than any employee, because he obsessively studies this kind of thing. He's been at it for decades now, since the 90s, he used to have a hat and one of those disc things conductors have, but the authorities sat him down and told him to please stop using those after a train actually started to leave the station once because the engineer thought he was the real deal.

Gunther is like that but instead of a conductor he pretends to be an European politician.

He's a goofy dumb ass with insane ideas that spawn memes, but you can't really call him a lolcow pejoratively. There's no coming downfall. No building implosion. He's no comeuppance coming to him. He's stable, has a decent middle class life style, gets paid to do what he loves. My man made it. You don't have to worry about archiving him because he's not going to delete anything, you could show every tweet he ever made to his employer and it would probably help him. He's an autistic weirdo out of time who managed to fit neatly into his perfect niche in a vast machine; the dream of all Eurocrats.

I for one welcome our NATO overlord its only a matter of time before Moldova, Georgia and Ukraine join the EU and once EU membership happens NATO membership follows.
It's a hell of a lot better that this third world BRICS bullshit or China and Russia leading the second and third rate change for the global south.
