I didn’t know people were making posts about who their favorite GTA characters are.

I have a lot, but my personal favorites do immediately have to come with playing GTA IV a lot. Mainly at first, it was due to Little Jacob:

Then the McReary’s came along. It was due to the likes of Gerry, Derrick and Packie (though, later I started to think Derrick’s story was pretty much what this family represented with the missions that Niko was doing for them):

Packie was technically the little brother of the McReary family as far as personality goes, and he was very protective of Kate until one of the last missions I had had her killed by enemy assailants due to Pegorino calling a hit for me and Roman.

Still, both the McRearys and Little Jacob had the best character personalities in the game to me, with Playboy X and Dwayne Forge together coming in second.

In GTA Online news, Rockstar goofed and did something to make the regular Karuma bullet proof.

I have a feeling this will get fixed super quick because there's no way Rockstar will let players have a bulletproof car without spending thousands of GTA bucks for it. Meanwhile other problems that actually bother players will go unaddressed.

erm, that faggot missed a little, the script used is from the fleeca heist kuruma, which is 100% bulletproof, the plebeian armored kuruma can be shot through the windows and they can be broken after a couple of shots, not to mention AP bullets.

How is it Sam never ages? He keeps all his hair, but McCaffrey doesn't? What kinda bullshit it that? Is there a Lazarus Pit in the Remedy offices?

The other two are alright, but Max Payne 1 was something special. Hyper-real environments, while still managing to not take itself too seriously. It was good of them to keep inviting back McCaffrey, considering he's an older fella who (according to an interview) had difficulty with the mo-cap in 3. He is irreplaceable as Max Payne.

GTA IV actually parodies post-9/11 America quite well.

The PATRIOT Act (known as the Jingoism Act in-universe) is lampooned in full display. Bridges are initially blocked off due to "terrorism," only to be reopened after a bank robbery. The city mayor is a closet homosexual but runs a "family values" ticket. WEAZEL NEWS is basically Fox News with its sensationalist method of reporting. Cops have full immunity to react to crime as they see fit (yet are lethargic until the SWAT comes in), although less abrasive than in V.

Meanwhile, organized crime is on the rise. Gun ownership is banned. A couple characters are in debt. Hell, even Niko's cynicism, while valid, comes off as dull and in your face sometimes.

Still, IV has some of the best writing the GTA series has ever had to date. You just have to pay attention to the details.

I wonder how well it does with rockets. It only takes one to put an end to an armored Kuruma. Rockets were a good reason to keep an Insurgent or Nightshark around.

If I recall, the Insurgent could take a few rocket hits before blowing up. Then again, it's been ages since I played, so my memory is kinda fuzzy. Tried doing the Cayo Perico heist, but got bored and disillusioned with how there's so much crap to do in-game, but nearly all of it is just grindfest filler. Plus the whole stealth aspect is broken as fuck, which makes it even less fun to play.

I'd have more fun in SP if it wasn't frozen in amber. It wouldn't kill Rockstar to toss in a few updates to the SP game and incorporate more of the online content.
