I've no reason to believe GTA VI won't just be another GTAV with monetized out the ass online component.

Was Merryweather supposed to be a spoof on private militarized security? In one of the most liberal cities in America?

Also, I don't know if it was intentional, but every pedestrian in GTA V is an asshole. You stand around them for a few seconds, they get defensive and want to beat your ass. Also, the cops in V are trigger happy.

They will box you in, PIT you, even disobey the laws of physics just to end you. Is that also supposed to be satire of how LA is so tense?

Far as I know, Merryweather is a spoof on Blackwater and Pinkerton.

I've had a break from playing the various GTAs over the last week after a mate lent me his 360 version of RDR1. I honestly thought I'd be bored shitless with the endless horse riding and collecting flowers and shit but it's been fantastic.

Red Dead Redemption is the best Western spaghetti movie I've ever experienced. Not even a movie, it's a game. Which is even better. I remember I used to just explore the countryside picking flowers and doing gang hideouts. I haven't even finished the story since I was so distracted.

Multiplayer, when it worked, was a blast. Deathmatches, co-op that played like the single player, poker, free roam. A lot to do to feel like a cowboy.

Does anybody know if it's possible to play GTA IV offline on Steam?

GTA V on new playstation for 75 euro (a)

This game has been out for a long time and to combine this with the ps5 is a total No Go. Already played a few times on the ps4 and this certainly does not have to be on the ps5 when it comes out this year. Just knock some money because of the corona

I know this is "speculation" at best about GTA VI, but this is the best "speculation" I've read about it to date. This touches on the "Project Americas" post from a Reddit post (now deleted.)

  • The next GTA title has been in development since 2012, but production didn't begin properly until 2015, but even then the team was focusing more on Red Dead Redemption 2.
  • It's another Rockstar Worldwide Production.
  • Codename is PROJECT AMERICAS.
  • Set in both Vice City and a new fictional location based on Rio de Janeiro.
  • Some linear missions take place in Liberty City, but it isn't an open world (think Ludendorff in GTA 5).
  • Game will balance realism and arcade and it won't be as realistic as Red Dead Redemption 2.
  • One playable protagonist: male, not female, despite supposed leaks.
  • Set in 1970s-1980s.
  • You play as an up and coming drug lord-wannabe named "Ricardo". Another key character called “Kacey” is a part of the narrative. You start off as a grunt doing runs as a cocaine smuggler from Vice City to the new large South American area before making connections with big time drug lords and making your way up. Multiple cities.
  • There will also be a giant prison which will play a part in the game.
  • Will feature a 'chapter' system similar to a Tarantino flick or Red Dead Redemption 2.
  • Weather is a heavy focus (hurricanes, floods, etc).
  • Buildings change over the eras, vehicles too. So older, rare classic cars get more expensive as time progresses etc. Full economy.
  • Heavily inspired by Netflix's Narcos.
  • They want to have an incredible 70s/80s soundtrack.
  • A younger Martin Madrazo will make an appearance as will his father who is a big drug lord at the time. You do some missions for the Madrazo family involving hits on other gangs.
  • Drug empire building is a mechanic similar to Vice City Stories but bigger. Think the GTA Online system and dial it up to 10.
  • You can only have weapons on your person. No arsenal in your back pocket, like Red Dead Redemption 2.
  • Your personal vehicle will be like your horse saddle in Red Dead Redemption 2. All your equipment is stored in the trunk. You also store your body armour in the car. If you wear it, it appears, no longer just an invisible thing.
  • There will be tons of subtitle reading. Think Max Payne 3 amounts, very immersive, like watching an episode of Narcos. Whenever you're in South America, don't expect to hear much English. Vice City however is a mix of everything, but mostly English.
  • Last bit of narrative info, it will discuss topics such as HIV and the immigration crisis of the time. A fictional version of Fidel Castro etc.
  • Next-gen only, not PS4 or Xbox One [aka PS5 and Xbox Series X]
  • GTA 6 is now their primary focus, alongside another title (which might be Bully 2).
  • Game is still in Pre-Alpha so names, locations, details could and probably will change.
  • No ETA on a release date.

If they do return to Vice City, this would expand from the 3D era Vice City without repeating it 1:1. The supposed new location in conjunction with Vice City would freshen up gameplay and locale.

Weather affecting the dynamic open world would be interesting to see in any open world. And next gen as well. Imagine doing a mission but you had to reschedule because of floods.
I would really like to see Rockstar do a GTA in Las Venturas.

you dont even have to launch it through steam you can put xliveless dll and run it from the launchgtaiv exe

This isn't GTA, but this is a upcoming GTA clone for next-gen: Watch Dogs: Legion.

Ubisoft has a distinct pleasure for 30fps being "a cinematic experience" for their games. There's arguments made that the 30fps cap is because of the PS4 and Xbox One being underwhelming or for parity.

Anyway, Watch Dogs: Legion was reported to be running at 4K 30fps for the new consoles.

I would hope that Ubisoft would add a performance option to offer frame rate over resolution like other games are doing for consumer choice.

I'll pass after this one, thank you very much.

I liked Watch Dogs 2. Much improved from its predecessor.

Watch Dogs had an engaging story. For Ubisoft standards. Somebody killed your niece in a hit after a job gone bad, you try to track them down by any means necessary.

That's the only interesting part of the game. That and the hacking mechanic. Cameras, grenades, traps, traffic can be manipulated with your hacking skills. Quite fun if simple with a button press.

Everything else of it was functionable at best. Nothing really special. And those towers and collectibles. A grind. Aiden was a emotionless walking trenchcoat. The side characters were more engaging.

Finally ventured into the onlne world of GTA V. Got the coke, inport export and counterfeiting stuff working in a system and thinking about a bunker next. It does feel like the game doesn't want you to make money, I won a car in my daily spin the wheel and I thought the resale value would be a fair chunk of cash. $2 million car gets a trade in price of £10k. Yeah, cheers for that.

Anybody got any hints or tips for a newbie?

My tip is to avoid populated servers, GTAO is notorious for hackers and modders. Rockstar will ban you simply for having gotten money from one.

I know of some YouTubers that play the game religiously that have tips and tricks for new GTA Online players.
