I'm a GTA nut, and I'm honestly thinking I'll skip it until PC.

If I absolutely must play it, I'll probably just buy a used Series S and play it that way. Unless it's Cyberpunk on base PS4 levels of bad I won't give a shit. And then I'll just sell it and (maybe) wait once I complete the story because I doubt I'll ever be down for GTA Online ever again.

This bears repeating, I do not see R* allowing their players to transfer EVERYTHING over with VI. It's impractical no matter how you slice it. All those gadgets would have to be configured to work with the reworked engine. Somebody could transfer a hacked account with unlimited money and break an already unstable economy. Newcomers would be under the mercy of imbalanced weapons/vehicles.

I wish GTA Online never went that route to begin with. A compromise would be if returning players get SOME incentive like money/weapons/clothes. I don't see the entitlement of expecting a full character transfer for an MMO like GTA Online.

Which is why I think the big things that will transfer will be stuff that doesn't matter, like clothing, masks, tattoos, and the like. I don't think the money will transfer over dollar for dollar but based on a ratio and the length of time the account has been active. R* will need to figure out something because of the Shark Cards and players using real money. Guns probably won't transfer over, but I can see current GTAO players getting some kind of a unique gun or a special color like gold for a gun that will be available or a special accessory like a super extended mag or something. Cars, hideouts, businesses, assets, etc., won't transfer over from GTAO to GTAO2, but may end up being "sold" and the cash be given to the player for use in GTAO2. At some point R* will need to announce an end date to GTAO servers and require players to transfer over to GTAO2.

How retarded does someone have to be to buy a digital product and think it will transfer everywhere and last forever?

Edit: I've said it before, I'll say it a thousand times, the kind of person that had to buy Shark Cards isn't the kind of person who is just going to be able to NOT buy GTA VI/GTA Online 2

For the longest, I've never would've guessed that the Sicilian mafia was the main antagonist against Toni and Salvatore. They basically come and go without a trace. I guess in a crapsack world like Liberty City, everybody is out for themselves.

The kikes over at R* have added BattlEye anticheat to GTA5 on PC

Quoting from here
So as of today, September 17th, PC players will be forced to install BattlEye anticheat to be able to play GTA Online. Story mode is not affected and it can be toggled off for that mode.

What this means is that after 9 years GTA Online has an actual anticheat, but whether that is going to be effective remains to be seen. It will however hardware-ban anyone caught using mods, effectively making that PC unable to ever play GTA Online regardless of whether it's on a second account or not.

What this also means is that Steam Deck and Linux players are currently out of luck to play GTAO at all. Perhaps there will be a patch for that at some point, but for now those users will be unable to play online.

This is somewhat controversial since BattlEye requires kernel level access to your Windows PC, which is the highest level access a program can have and could be dangerous if the program is ever compromised. Is it worse than what some modders could do? Who knows, but maybe.

On the plus side it's being reported that Gen9 features (E&E/Next-Gen) will finally be coming to PC, but that has not been confirmed as of yet.

Rockstar Leeds made a good first game, but man, there's a lot of plotholes in GTA LCS.
At least GTA VCS is way better.

How is Battleeye in practice? 11 years later, there is finally an anti cheat for GTA Online.

Not for long hopefully. DayZ has Proton support and uses BattlEye too. I think Valve will work with R* to restore Steam Deck support ASAP.

So, if you pick ending A or B, Lamar will refuse to hang out with you during the day because of Stretch. What sense does that make, wouldn't it be easier to hit somebody at night since you can't see much?

I was just thinking about side things that could be possible in GTA6. 5 had a pretty good golf sim, skydiving, racing, yoga, owned business missions (advertising for the theaters, bringing liquor to bars, taking down guys trying to rob you businesses), and Trevor's smuggling stuff. What could 6 have that's unique? Surfing? Deep-Sea fishing? Airboat smuggling in the Everglades? Square Grouper smuggling? Assassinations for hire (think going to a contact to get wetwork and cash)? Arson for hire missions? Something involving the beaches like getting a perfect tan?

I'm expecting some activity in the water. Hang gliding, wake boarding, surfing.

GTA 6 leaks showed that there would be a stealth element in avoiding being seen by cameras. I guess there will be heists ala what we've seen in GTAO
