I don't even know if I can blame GSS for this though, UE4 was never made to render only a pathetically small area at once like Renderware was. I wonder if the games even use a timecyc file anymore.
But for real, SA is so small by today's standards that the entire map is drawn (with LODs of course) with no sweat, something that would've crashed consoles and most PCs 16 years ago. Is GSS to blame for using tech that's too new and too good for an old ass game made on an archaic engine that was a 6th gen darling?
What I can blame GSS for though, is the lack of adding detail and life to the map.
Mods like Project2DFX added LOD sprites to give cities lighting from a distance and appear lived in and active, and you're telling me a professional studio couldn't even do
that?
This was too much to ask for? Something that was done some 7 or so years ago by enthusiasts for free?

R* games used to pride themselves on attention to detail, to an autistic degree. These versions vomit all over these iconic masterpieces and the original teams that developed them.
