Not only was I Ran used in the main fucking GTA Vice City commercial, but Out of Touch is flat out used during cutscenes on the yacht during The Party...

The only way those cuts could be any worse is if they removed Broken Wings, holy shit. All of those Vice City songs are fucking iconic to Vice City for me personally, and it has to be the same for others.

Edit: Holy Shit they're removing Welcome to the Jungle for San Andreas as well!

No wonder the only song they used for the marketing was that dumb remix of O Mio Babbino Caro

Dammit, Rockstar! You had one job....

A "Definitive Edition" of the original 3D Universe trilogy should be an easy way to win back the fans for them and part of that is sucking it up and using some of that money they got from re-releasing GTA V and Online over and over and to re-license the music.

When the songs that wind up getting cut from VC and SA are all the ones everyone associates with the game, you know they're going to fuck the whole thing up in other far more noticeable ways as well.
 
I need to force myself to remember this shit is targeted toward Fortnite children who never played the 3D Trilogy nor had the sense to just buy them off the PS Store/Xbox Live/Steam for the 10 years they've been available.

So they won't miss the songs at all.

The soundtrack is what sells GTA as an authentic, living, breathing open world. Ask anybody in this thread their standout moment of a GTA game, chances are it'll be a song playing on the radio while on a mission or just mucking about in the world.

Music is a powerful tool that can set the tone in a medium. Emotion, atmosphere, suspense, enjoyment, even character. Almost every song in Vice City/San Andreas feels right in the world without feeling out of place. Just listening to a mismatch of songs externally misses the point.

Also, remember that R*/T2 REMOVED the originals from digital storefronts. Now in today's digital centric world, it'll be harder to relive or experience those titles in their original glory. You're basically saying it's okay to re-release medias in a neutered experience because it's easier.

I played it on release. It wasn't the standout to me. If you wanna relive it thru some easy to find music, play the original vice city.


The Playlist idea was a joke.

This release is just a cheap cash grab and for R* to flex their IP rights without doing anything substantial with them. What a goddamn shame.
 

Joel apparently does not like the new GTA Trilogy: The Definitive Edition trailer that much.

Even during the middle part of the video, he’s wondering why Tommy is so tan and fat.

being honest i don't think there is a proper way of them changing the old models in the 3D era to modernize it on the same tier as GTA5 models style, they kept the cartoonish vibes to maintain similarity, in short cuckstar wants to play it safe.

Jesus Christ those oversaturated shaders are terrible. Those games would probably look 100% better if they knocked down the saturation in favor of more natural, muted colors.

IE are ANY of the games playable off the cartridge?

Also, how fucking big is the necessary download going to be if you buy the cartridge? Will it be so fucking big that you might as well just buy digitally?

Scuttlebutt seems to indicate it's 6.5GB for Vice City only. Seems 3 and San Andreas are going to work on the cartridge alone fine.
