I actually looked at 100% GTA Mission Videos on Youtube regarding GTA V’s “Expanded and Enhanced Edition” and gameplay wise, literally nothing has changed except advanced graphics to make it look “realistic”.

Pretty obvious, but after removing and censoring drag queens that look like “transgenders”, I can fully understand why this has been changed to a “Griefing Thread”.

@SiccDicc you have my deepest sympathies. I can’t imagine how if Vice City were to come back in GTA VI, it will not have the same flavor and character that V had, or used to have.

Luckily I still have my Xbox 360 and PS4 versions. I still can’t even buy a PS5 in this climate, since news came out that they’re stealing them by pretending to be mail carriers and taking them from their front porch.

I'm still flabbergasted on why was this "expanded and enhanced" port was not a free upgrade for existing owners. I can understand PS3/360 owners having to rebuy PS4/XB1/PC as V was built from the ground up for those consoles.

Literally nothing new is offered with E&E.

Greed.

GTA 3 has a great world ambience, even 20 years later. The music and ped dialogue complements the drab, smug atmosphere of Liberty City.

Every design choice crafted into Liberty City then was intentional. Truly a sight to behold to just ... Stand there and observe.

This is something I hate about modern gaming. It feels like with 4K graphics and uncompressed sound they feel like developers can just not give a fuck about atmosphere and ambience.

Wait. So is it only the Pozz'd-station 5 version that's actually censored? Everything else remains untouched ?

Evidently, yes. For now. You'd have to test that out yourself. Can somebody with a PS4 version confirms this?

VC:S is and was arguably better than the original Vice City, minus the characters slightly (if you enjoy being the sensible brother to the dickhead Lance).

LCS is kinda a step back compared to 3 but let's be honest, their opening song is way better than 3's.

The intro theme to LCS and to GTA IV were fantastic
Honestly the years from San Andreas to the completion of GTA IV with the release of Ballad of gay Tony in 2009 is probably the golden years of the franchise.
I can't even remember if GTA V had a opening theme

Replaying Vice City had me realize something that V lacks: a reactive, open world.

In GTA, you would progress and the world would open up. More than that, your progress is given and shown to you from the story. The world is evolving based on your actions.

2 takes this literally with gangs being hostile or friendly towards you depending on your mission choices. III expands on this from the get go. You're a nobody at the beginning at the game; gangs don't react to your presence unless you attack yourself. Later, you have gangs turn hostile towards you because of your story progression.

It goes deeper than that. You blow up a fish factory early on, you visit that same factory, it's still destroyed. You complete a side mission involving magazine collection, a prop of magazines appear by your safehouse. A store gets ransacked, that store still has damages.

V doesn't have any of that with its world. Los Santos and Blaine County feel static. Actually, I take that back. These moments only happen sparingly. A few I can think of is with Franklin moving safehouses, Micheal's family leaving him, Micheal and Trevor being exiled from Los Santos, the stock market, and ending B. Even so, nothing grand changes from those decisions on a macro scale.

The assassination missions could've shown the impact of their stock by having those businesses shutter or grow as you progress. Instead, it's just "oh, invest in this, do that, wait, see stock go up/down." You get money, that's it. Hell, I never knew about that until my second playthrough. You blow up two federal buildings, yet they're still standing as if nothing happened.

Online is worse in this regard. You're telling me that a low-rent criminal goes from sticking up liquor stores, doing heists, ambushing gangs to now stopping the world from total annihilation or piloting futuristic vehicles? You finish the Doomsday Heist? Welp, back to normal. Nothing changes.

There's no consequence or impact with progression in V. Los Santos will be the same as you left it to where you first began.

Not to defend GTA V but this is just false. The O'Neils Compound is never rebuilt after Trevor destroys it, the Cargo Jet in the Alamo Sea is never salvaged after he crashes it. The FIB building remains boarded up and in a state of repair after the Bureau Raid. Lester burns his factory and IIRC it is never repaired in the game.

still waiting for that building to finish construction (it's been almost a decade guys. finish the building. even in rdr2 they finished the buildings being built)

VCS has a far more entertaining empire building system, but (on PS2 at least) I thought it looked and ran like absolute ass.
VCS ran fine on the PSP. In fact, PSP emulation is so far along that I might have to check out how it looks all upscaled on PPSSPP. That'll probably be the best possible way to ever play that game, because lol at the concept of a good remaster ever coming out

Disagree about the music. GTA3 has the WORST soundtrack. SA at least has SOME good tunes but hampered by Rockstar not wanting to buy the rights to big name acts (Metallica, Madonna, Nirvana, Pearl Jam, Janet Jackson, Michael Jackson, Whitney Houston) while Vice City has the best soundtrack with Rockstar opening up their wallet and buying all sorts of great songs with a bunch of big names.

Music taste is subjective, but I see where you're coming from. Yes. Vice City has the best soundtrack in any GTA game to date.

III was the first mainstream entry, so they likely didn't have a big budget for music compared to VC onward. Hey, wait a minute, what about Flashback FM? Scarface music.

Push it to the Limit's a great song, definitely made III's soundtrack better than I expected.

Still the weakest soundtrack of the 3D games, but I won't begrudge them as it was their first attempt and lacked brand recognition.
