No one seems to have pointed out that Chris was the main driver of the house for years before, and Barb only started driving again BECAUSE Chris went to jail. She could have had her keys and license taken away in 2016 for all we know. Forgetting that and driving anyway is EXACTLY what you would expect from a non attended Alzheimer's patient.

The stupid "Barb can drive so she's all there!" argument falls apart when you take into account that she GOT IN A CAR CRASH THAT ALMOST KILLED HER! She shouldn't have been driving, she probably did lose her driving capability years ago, case closed.

Well, Barbara would have spent most of 2016 as a 74 year old. Contrary to what retards think, that really isn't that old, at least not in terms of serious cognitive decline. Only around 3-8 percent of people have dementia at that age.

Bullshit at it being a stupid argument, it's not. If she reached the point of needing to have her keys taken away in 2016, it's extremely doubtful that she would have been able to drive home at all in 2021 or 2022. She probably wouldn't have even known what to do with the gas pedal or brake pedal, never mind be capable of driving home with things going otherwise smoothly aside from one averted accident (regardless of how easily avoidable or disastrous that single accident might have been). People that know nothing about the progression of dementia acting as though it operates under no sense of rhyme or logic or reason gets so, so, so fucking tiresome. It's possible that she's in the early stages of dementia now (dementia is FAR more common in the 80s than the 70s; one study found five percent of people in their 70s to have dementia compared to 25 percent in the 80s), but she didn't have moderate to advanced dementia in fucking 2016. If she did she'd either be a bedridden vegetable by now or dead. Either that, or she had some kind of non-Alzheimer's ailment that either progresses much more slowly or is completely non-progressive.

Pretty much, I don’t know the exact 1 year mark but they have to sentence him before that for his listed crime before then. So if there was a continuance, it would only be for a day or two and not months.

I'm personally on the fence about Barb, if she was able to understand what was going on. She may or may not have dementia, but we also know she's a manipulative and creepy whore.

It seems to me that no matter what happens, Chris is going to get another charge added to the current incest charge. They aren't going to drop the case completely after he's done the full time as if he had been convicted. And unless they add a charge, they aren't going to be able to suspend a sentence and put him on probation. Elder abuse is the most likely. Rape would be if he fails to cooperate and causes a scene. But suspending a sentence on rape might be impossible.

I wonder if the delays were planned all along to avoid going to trial and airing all the dirty laundry. This way justice is served and everything is settled quietly... IF Chris goes along with it. I can't see him following court orders if he doesn't want to follow them... like staying away from 14 BC and Barb. That would be a dealbreaker sooner or later.

Chris was the official caretaker for Barb. He had to go to classes set up by her doctor for how to take care of her. He was probably collecting in home care money from the state.

ETA my two cents:

If this letter is legit I would speculate that Chris has been told he isn’t allowed to live with Barb anymore and she’s at the house. Chris MAY have lied about her not being there to protect her but that’s a big stretch. More likely would be that her location has been hidden from him all along and maybe if he’s getting out they finally told him he can’t live with her. Chris may think that if he can raise a large sum to pay off at least a nice chunk of the house that he may have some ground to stand on in his attempts to wrestle ownership of the house.

My only other theory would be that maybe Barb has been deemed competent enough to testify or at least give her side of things and Chris is trying to shut her up
