La Raza is mostly moribund nowadays, only fat Latinx activists think that making more Mexico is a good idea.

Instead, what we will probably get is a Latinification of the USA, with a new Anglo-Hispanic liberal mutt culture.

The US capitalist system and culture is simply too comfortable and indulgent for any serious nation-building, that would involve a level of hardship in order to build up independent insitutions. To this point, even if you want to push a Hispanic-supremacist agenda, you inevitably must conform to the American systems, thereby Americanizing yourself.

There's plenty of non-La Raza who want the USA to turn into Mexico, they're just less vocal about it. Even the ones who will cry that the USA is the only home they know; they want everything from the food, language, culture, etc to mirror Mexico, because they see it as superior. They just don't do the We Wuz Aztecs shit.

Agreed; but the fact that Google flat out splashed their main page with that shit is pretty bold, even for them. It's just that kind of in-the-face fuck you-ism which makes me think.

Hence the latter point- we'll likely be getting some weird hybrid Anglo-Hispanic culture as a result.

The current US culture and education system excels at transforming their children into Americans, even if they 'want' more Mexican culture. Even with the superficial 'cultural' coat of paint found on most activists, scratch that, and you'll find a California progressive inside who also wants infinite abortion access, more equity, and even more gays.

To give a tangential example, Miami is one of the most Hispanic cities in the US, and yet its rate of language attrition is extremely high. The children are simply no longer retaining the language, and a significant number are outmarrying.

It's only around the borderland regions and areas that receives a constant influx of migrants where Latin American culture and language will hold on longer.

Northern Mexico is more likely to turn into America than Texas turn Mexican.
If you know your history , northern Mexicans have much more in common with american southerners than the idiots in Mexico City.
Mostly because northern Mexico was and still is more remote, and Mexico was slooooow at making a road network up there. Mexicans fought for Tejas/Texas with the Americans you know.
Then Texans backstabbed then and joined the us instead of staying independent.
Also tlatelolco was a massacre of students by the Mexican government because the students took issue with how blatantly rigged elections were.
