Nintendo will win by simply not shooting themselves in the foot as much as Sony and Microsoft, especially given how consoles are pretty much glorified discounted gaming PCs by this point.

Nintendo's strategy is bold and revolutionary "hey, how about we launch multiple tiers of games that are just fun and without any sort of bullshit attached to them and that can only be played on our console!". It's a very complicated maneuver which is why Microsoft and Sony are completely unable to replicate it and not because they throw millions into bloated projects and companies and release everything on PC anyway.

I never expected the console wars to end up in such a retarded way, yet here we are.

I agree, Adum definitely has bias in 99% of the time, but there's another leaf video game he played where he agreed it sucked was Backbone - based on his hometown of Vancouver, too.

It's been a while, I'm not 100% certain. But it's certainly funny that so many of Adum's "viewerbase" are progressives and then he is friends with Scoot who makes very edgy jokes. How Scott hasn't been cancelled yet is beyond me, he's a) white, b) cis, c) straight and d) doesn't care if people get offended by his comedy (based)

Most of their games are "fun" and "games". They invoke joy out of the player and arent trying to be necessarily realistic or "cinematic" for that matter. They can be "epic" like Zelda but its not trying to prove anything to a bunch of jornafags and normies.

I think the moment sony exclusives began to appear on PC was the moment I truly knew nothing about non-Nintendo consoles stood out from PC. It basically meant a shift in the industry as now exclusivity comes with a "*" next to it that said "temporary exclusivity" (unless you are Nintendo).

Tho its funny, because there are MANY great PSP games forever stuck in the PSP that could get a port on PC. Nothing seems to be stopping them, really.

Recently it came out that companies (Disney) have been paying for positive reviews on Rotten Tomatoes, and with Steam shadowbanning negative ones on their store pages (not to mention other retards giving false positives just so their negative comment can be safe from being deleted), it's like you really can't get an honest opinion from anywhere anymore.

Yeah, definitely. I've known for years that you can't trust critic reviews but the fact that user submitted reviews can't be trusted anymore on most platforms is disheartening.
Usually I read the negative reviews and compare them across the different platforms as well as social media, but I guess that won't be enough anymore either.

I have been watching a streamer that played Snootgame now play GBH. He's been mostly screaming at the game for being boring and bad.
But what specially bugs me about the game are the visual glitches and errors through most of the game that I have noticed. I witnessed lips not sinking, bad perspectives, somehow the layers being displayed wrongly and the models clipping onto themselves or glitching. It seems like most of it was done by AI. Like it wants to get from point A to point B but it has no idea how the body or proportions are supposed to work through the motions.
Edit: I forgot to mention how I despise the flat character designs, they lack soul or any sort of expression/personality to them.

This just reminded me of how the Dinosaurs Tv Show ended. How in the fuck did an animatronic sitcom for young kids and families manage to have the balls to ACTUALLY kill everyone off at the end, but this game meant for adults didn't?

People didn't expect the writers of this show to actually tackle the death of the dinosaurs directly, but they did and even gave it an extra layer of depth by making the meteor a metaphor for human greed and its effects on the planet. It wasn't even a quick, world-explodes type ending, it was the slow, gradual nuclear winter that slowly kills the protagonists one by one as they freeze to death. It's darker once you think of the gradual deterioration of the family's dynamic once they started dying off slowly.

GVH couldn't even consistently keep their eye on the ball and keep the meteor as a metaphor for graduation.

The fact you didn't pick on the fact the coach is Jane Doe (a.k.a Soldier from TF2) boggles the mind.

But here's the thing. It's been about a week since GBVH has come out, and really what has this piece of media changed in the world? No huge swarm of fans like Tobyfox got for Undertale, no one is saying it's so bad it's good like The Room. All in all this game which got hundred of thousands of dollars in tax revenue just ended up being a wet fart in the wind. Quickly forgotten, and lost to time.

I vote we change the name of this thread to "Cavemanon Games" or something sincr we don't really have anything else to say about GBVH. It's already dead and buried.

It's almost like cobbling together a VN in Unity with a hodgepodge of 2D and 2.5D assets was a stupid decision. I mean, someone could probably pull it off, but not KO_OP. I've already seen some people disassembling it and discussing the idea of mods or redoing it in RenPy, but I doubt we'll see much come of that.

I remember when the devs were doing the Q&A/BTS bits leading up to release and showing old concept art and thinking that it was one of the best examples of SOVL/SOVLLESS I've ever seen. Fang's design was good enough to launch a whole parody game, but you can tell the "refinement" was basically make it all look more palatable and less interesting/grungy.

Speaking of Cavemanon, there seems to be a bit of drama now with them (or the head/founder Nerd) now making a rule about their booru: no more images featuring GVH characters. They've said it's not about copyright, just "drawing a line" in regards to what the booru is about, but it's clearly not just Snoot Game art, since it features stuff from Wani and their Exit665 game, too. The reaction seems to be a majority "What? That's retarded, quit being retarded," but it wouldn't be the first time a dev has made an arbitrary decision and upset their fanbase.
