A little while ago I discovered EasyRPG and Joiplay, emulators for rpgmaker games. I've been trying to find some games to play but rpgmaker.net has been down for several months now and the only place to find games seems to be either the archive.org backup of the rpgmaker.net archive or itch.io. Browsing through archive.org is pretty awful and itch.io seems to be mostly full of tranny games and gooner shit. Joiplay has a catalogue section for games but it also seems to be entirely gooner shit. There's a bunch of relatively decent looking Pokemon rpgmaker XP fan games but I'm not really all that into pokemon. What are some decent RPGMaker games that lack faggotry and degeneracy?

Fear & Hunger is pretty good but it might not make your "lack faggotry and degeneracy" requirement, as there is nudity and degenerate shit but it makes sense for the universe and isn't just there to be gooner material. Fear & Hunger 2 has a lot of QOL changes and is overall the better game of the two but there's a tranny in it that's one of the main characters, and while I wouldn't call Funger 2 "woke", the fanbase is leftie tumblrina transtrenders and gooners.
I know there's a nudity mod for the first game that removes a lot of the nudity but it doesn't remove the sexual violence or the sexual themes, it just censors the dicks.

Pick your poison. A lot of these are commercial games but some of them are free and are available on vgperson or Memories of Fear. There's also RM2k and RPGMaker Archive, though I haven't really used them that much. Archive.org also has a separate catalog for rpgmaker.net games.
As for personal recommendations of games that are free - I've enjoyed Lily's Well, Toilet in Wonderland and END ROLL.
I've been going through the archive.org catalog but it's not very great for browsing. There's not really a lot of info on the games so it's been kind of hit or miss. I'll check out those other sites though and your suggestions.

I'm not totally against mature themes. I just don't want to play shit like this

I'll check this one out too thanks.

Really, there's a lot of good RM2K/RM2K3 games from the 2000s.

These are archives of those games:

RPG Maker.net's archive (site has been down for some time and is apparently still trying to rebuild):

Another archive with some extremely rare games among others, many of which have disappeared off the web for long periods of time:

Don't play Anonymous Agony even if it's free and is famous/infamous. It's buggy as shit and crashes at the most random times, the soundtrack is like three different songs with Playback by Nieve being the song you'll hear for 90% of your time playing the game and the story is so bad you'd think it escaped from the early 00's.
Positives are the voice actors are all very good and some of them even went on to becoming well-known on the English speaking anime scene.

There's a game called Neopunk which isn't too bad. The guy who made it made a bunch of other games as well. If you have a Google phone or Android, you can do the survey's through Google's surveys app and earn enough money to buy games from the Google Play store. That's what I do to get games.

This gentleman and scholar is correct. I second all of his recommendations.

I will link my old post on this very subject:

A short and notable German RPG Maker game, Unterwegs in Dusterberg, was translated a few years ago since I made that post: https://aranael.itch.io/unterwegs-in-dsterburg-english-version

This might not be the sort of thing you're looking for but it's the most enjoyable RPG maker game I've ever played.

It's a single player take on Final Fantasy 11. The story is a total afterthought but the game has a ton of mechanical depth and challenge that I find quite addictive.
I actually did download that one and start it. The intro cutscene kind of dragged on a bit but it seems pretty cool. I ended up just downloading as many as I could find that had a picture of 3 1/2 stars or more off archive.org and a few off itch.io and now I've got a fuckload of them on my phone of varying quality. Including a bunch of pokemon ones I'll probably never play. I tried a couple of them, I just couldn't do it. I've got like 65 rm2k3 games and these ones for rmxp and up. I don't even know if they all work. Some just don't. I think I went a little overboard and now have too many to choose from.

I also downloaded this one. It looks pretty interesting and well made.

You know, I've yet to play this one, but since it's from 2002, I think it qualifies as a lost classic as far as non-German speakers go.

Honestly, I consider the RPG Maker 2000/3 community to be the exemplar of what 2000s internet culture was like, at least on the "nerdy" parts of the web: a thriving community making idiosyncratic games, with a cool, retro feel to them. The best of them had stories that surpassed the generic "gotta save the world" plots of the games that inspired them.

Rpgmaker 2003 was my first real introduction into game engines and making games. I worked for quite a while way back when I was pretty young making a silly Megaman x rpg in it. I never ended up finishing it but I remember ripping graphics and setting up events and triggers and stuff and just being amazed at all the things you could do with it.

Something I completely forgot about, and one of the better kept secrets among RPG Maker games is The Lord of the Rings:

This is literally a fully complete adaptation of the extended editions of the films, with some stuff from the books thrown in as well, notably everything involving Tom Bombadil. This one got some love back in the mid-2000s when the demo that covered The Fellowship of the Ring was released to the now all but defunct Gaming World site (gamingw.net) but was somewhat forgotten even about a year later when he finished The Two Towers portion. Apparently, in 2019, the creator returned and finished Return of the King and released it to the now perpetually unavailable rpgmaker.net.

Oh that actually looks pretty cool. I think I saw that one and passed by it because it had no rating so I assumed it was unfinished or garbage. I'll check it out though

The only thing about it that is silly is that the sprites were made with Character Maker and the attack animations often feature the main character looking away from the enemy while attacking, as good rips from the movies that featured them facing the bad guys were probably hard to come by (the creator I think admitted as much back in the day). But the game does seem to be a labor of love by a real fan of Tolkien's work and the movies and had real effort put into it. Rips from the movies are numerous and it more or less uses the script from the extended editions. From what I recall he completely recreated the map (or at least the parts relevant to the movies) of Middle Earth to use as the world map. He even gave Tom Bombadil and Goldberry face sets just like all the characters that are in the movies, as they, like many characters that are only in the books, were featured on cards for the LOTR trading card game, being portrayed in the style of Peter Jackson's movies. The creator also seemed to have a very good understanding of RPG Maker, as many custom systems and mini games are featured throughout the game, despite it using the default menu and battle mode.

There appear to be three different builds in the downloads folder, which one should I play?
