Far Cry 5. I will happily profess my love for the game, in it's world building, it's main villain, it's music, even in how despite everyone thinking it was going to be some biting satire of right wing America, it... Kinda wasn't.

But there are two big problems. One narrative, one design wise.

Narratively: Bliss is retarded. It's magic mind control gas out of a Batman game, it tonally doesn't belong in the (relatively) grounded setting, and it turns the villains from bloodthirsty, but curiously compelling and possessing of a certain bloodthirsty radical point, into just comic book villains.

Design wise, the three stage forced progression of the story means you're going to miss out on a lot of the side content unless you're very deliberate in how you do missions.

I second/third/etc RDR2. The world and the side content is great, and the first portion of the game is captivating, but it wears out its welcome before you're even at the halfway point of the main story, which is disjointed and poorly paced. Do they do anything with that world? No, they railroad you in every mission.

Cherry on the sundae was playing the mission where you are forced to be cruel to a washed up former slave-catcher. There's clown-shoes shit from that faggot Dan Houser all over that game but this took the cake for me.

I thought it was a stunning game in a lot of ways, but also I thought the story was kinda rubbish and I found it was a total slog to get through. Fundamentally it's a flaw in the mission/gameplay design where most every mission has to end in a gunfight. Dutch has some hair-brained scheme that's obviously going to end in disaster but he says it'll pay off for sure this time so his long suffering gang saddle up arguing about whether this is a good idea and then it ends in disaster but don't worry, Dutch has a plan to get them out of this and sure, it's a risky one but if it works out they'll be golden and so his long-suffering gang saddle up arguing about whether it's a good idea ... It's like a sitcom but played completely straight

How did nobody say bed of chaos yet? I think people blow that one out of proportion but its still by far the worst part of DkS1, hell most of Izalith is. Problem is you can't scrap this either because the experience of going down so many levels being isolated from vendors is still the definition of adventure, the ability to warp between bonfires has ruined that whole series.
I'm one of those speds who like Izalith; but mainly because I had fun invading people down there. The entire area is shit, and thus perfect for a hunting ground to be a massive dickhead. Also, praise be to the Fair Lady.

My problem in Far Cry 5 was the one brother who would have you run the shoot house and time you; mainly, when you hit the points needed, he comes and forces you into his bullshit, where the other two would have a mission for you at your convenience. Every single fucking time I was doing something else; trying to fish, trying to hijack a specific vehicle for a reward, anything else than fucking around with the asshole Seed family, and that mother-fucker would play his gay little music box and make me run through his fucking murderhouse again and again.

Recently finished The Wind Waker for the first time. Great game but very blatantly padded at the middle point when you have to collect all the triforce shards.
Also Hated the Earth and Wind Temples because of the awful command song mechanic. Having to play a song every time you want to switch characters is just so clunky and tedious. Especially if you get the puzzle wrong and have to switch back and forth again.
The structure of the open world and the hint system is also a bit of an issue depending on what pace you explore the world. I explored most of the map relatively early on so when I actually needed the tip on the ghost ship map I had long since forgotten where to go. If I hadn't just looked it up at that point I would have had to explore the map all over again and feed the fish for the tips until I found the right place. Same could have happened with the fire and ice islands for example.
Oh and of course having to play the Wind's Requiem a million times.
